    They could have taken care of you. The main issue is every warranty or return affects the employees commission or "bonus" so they try and make it as difficult as possible. Secondly the stores are not linked sort of. There is a way to check where you bought it at if you used your phone number when you bought it. If not then there will be no way to find your history of the purchase at any store even if it's the store you bought it at. The manager on duty can over ride it and process the warranty but it will flag and then loss prevention will assume the employee is stealing.

      Advance does go threw a lot of people low pay and these type of policy make it hard on the employees who have to face upset customers, on a side note does anyone know if they are shutting stores down ??

    If you don't have a recipt email the company as in performance tool they will replace without recipt you just need a Pic to send them.

      I've done this with maco, spyder,Diablo ,pt, lisle and more and sometimes like Diablo sent me a few blades to try, some emails has taken 5 days to reply but done me good in the end. Heck I just got a replacement cover for my pop up canopy last week for a canopy I purchased from Walmart 3 months ago and I skipped their bs added insurance plan they wanted $30 ish bucks for! Email costed me nothing

    This is pretty much everywhere dude. Let me explain what happened in the late '80's, early '90's. Before that, the manufacturers would warranty the tools to the companies (stores) with statement credits when the manufacturer got the tool/part back. It became cost prohibitive transporting all of the "defective" product, so the manufacturers changed the way defects got handled. The first change was that instead of sending the stuff back to them, the manufactures went off of their industry defect rate, which for the sake of this discussion we will use 10%. They and the store agree on a 10% defect rate, and the manufacturer would just give 10% off of the cost of the product to allot for 10% of the product needing warrantied, and require the store destroy/dispose of the defective product. That is why the stores want to see that you purchased it from them. If you bought it at Autozone and replaced it at Advance, Advance is losing the full price of that product. That is why they want to make sure you bought it from there. Now with house brand parts and house brand items, let's use a rotor for example. All house brand rotors (Duralast, Wearever, etc.) come from the exact same Chinese factory. The price is agreed upon, and the company (Advance, Autozone, etc.) handles the warranty in house. Again, they want to only warranty the products that they sell, because they get no credit for any defects that come back. Hope this helps you understand. Further, it is ALWAYS a good idea to keep receipts for everything. I just warrantied a lifetime starter from advance from 2018 that I had the receipt for. I was in and out in a minute.

      Went on a road call out of town in a small little city called Fredericksburg. Texas walked into a NAPA store that I had never been to before handed them a craftsman crescent wrench. No receipt to 20 years. Old guy just handed me another craftsman crescent wrench and not the door I went.

      ​​@@sonofmontezuma3732 Bully for Craftsman being the exception to the rule and still paying for returns from retailers (although the quality of Craftsman products is no longer even comparable to what it was so they can have the money to do it.)
      The man above told you 100% truth about how the system works and all you can say is "but Muh Craftsman."
      Meanwhile, every modern Craftsman item I have is in the Drawer of Shame where the things I never should have bought collect dust awaiting some destructive purpose.
      If you want an absolutely No Questions Asked Warranty, go to Harbor Freight or keep burning through Craftsman and hope and pray they don't finish going under.

    Manufacturer warranties being thru the manufacturer is normal. Advance owns DieHard and they will warranty them no problem. They dont own PT. Its literally called a manufacturer's warranty.

    Advance is the seller, not the manufacturer. PT said lifetime, not Advance. You should've took that up with PT but instead left Advance to deal with the bull with no receipt cutting into their time and them getting nothing out of it. 👨‍🔧

      ​@@sonofmontezuma3732Well buy it online next time and just go pick it up so you'll have a digital receipt if any issues. Paper receipts get tossed, I know. Might be a coupon online as well but don't bash the middle man.

    Never graced their threshold..
    I try not to deal with places that we don't have accounts.. makes it easier when there's any warranty issues.
    We had an awesome mom and pop tool store in town, didn't matter if the manufacturer had a good warranty or not, they'd replace it anyway.. if they replaced too many, they would find a better brand.
    The big box stores ran them out of business 😥
