Without any doubt, the best DLJ song. Luau is great, as is Rome Plows as is Caress etc. But the final minute sends Yank Crime into outer space. Great closer too!
@@HomicidalApeits feedback from the guitar and amp. I believe the sound difference is from a smaller sized speaker. The only way I’ve been able to duplicate that sound it is on a small practice amp.
@@Coinmancer Interesting yeah I've just never heard that particular feedback sound. In a live vid from 2016 he pulls it off just like the record, and he can be seen getting real close to the amp head. I wonder if it's to do with the pickups getting real close to the amp's transformer or something, as opposed to regular feedback where speakers are involved.
@@HomicidalApe the feedback needs vibration from the speaker so I don’t think that’s related to the amp. I checked a couple videos out from 2016 trying to find it but I couldn’t find them recreating that flutter sound at exactly 5:19. I’m fairly certain that is feedback that is too much for a tiny little speaker so the flutter/tweeting sound you hear is the speaker not handling it and breaking the feedback here and over and I don’t think they can do it live without a smaller speaker probably used in studio. Just to be clear that part just before that with the flutter is just fast picking along with feedback at 5:12-5:19 If you know the video let me know and I’d love to check it out.
The sound engineer deserves a lot of credit for this album too. It's an all-around sonic masterpiece
He sure does!
its their drummer
How are these riffs so nasty and yet I love them.

Absolute outer space!
Slint-like. Love it.
