These kids are long grown up and on their own and I hope life is being good to them. I'm sure John, Cass & Denny are looking down and impressed with this group and I hope sole survivor Michelle Phillips has seen this video.
Appropo the comment prior to mine it was the tempo that I found to be what most undermined this otherwise lovely choral performance. That and the amount of noise in the recording. For me It was sung just a bit too fast and when that happens IMPO it negatively affects the ability of the choristers to focus and inject maximum emotion into their singing. To satisfy my own thinking and my feeling of "something not quite right" in my first listening experience, I re-recorded this and slowed the playback down by 10% Wow !! IMPO the whole vibe changed for the better,, the emotive impact was raised and it gave to the performance appearing to be more seriously focused and emotively charged. I really liked it much much more at that tempo. IMPO all of the pre-performing joking laughing and chatting between them all served to take everyone's mind away from the kind of discipline that's needed for a choir group to perform well with focus and attention and to the best of one's ability. Plenty of time for jocularity and relaxation Post-performance, I feel. I may be considered "old fashioned" by some reading this, but if you look at most of the solo and choral performances on RUclips or elsewhere you will see that the performers that really impress......do not fool around to the point of taking their focus off what they want to perform to the very best of their ability. The tempo and pitch is dutifully set to bring out the best in the voices. Choirs in particular need a disciplined focus to achieve excellence in performance. I learned and know at age 80, from 75 years experience of singing both solo and with choirs. If YOU have the " Audacity" (free music management programme) or can download it, do try doing what I did before you come back and pooh pooh my opinion. Ta ! .....and have a great musical day ! 🤠 PS ; I hope the Choirmaster of this group reads my post, takes heed of my opinion and suggestions and has another go at putting this up on RUclips........I am certain he will produce a 10/10 choral presentation ! Best to you Mr. Choirmaster..... who the girls are obviously ALL wild about ! 😍
