      Hey Val. Thank you! Great to hear from you. A lot of water under the bridge for sure since the original workshop plan - but it is being used as a teaching environment though.

    Wow, Martin! What a huge change in such a short time. Very exciting development for you guys. The workshop looks fab and the wood store looks like it will be colossal. I like the idea of the viewing window - nothing quite sells product like people seeing it being created. Looking forward to the notifications for future projects. By the way, 'Really handy for those of you who turn recesses on your bottom' - made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the update - exciting times ahead.

      Hey Sandy. Thanks for watching. It sure is an exciting time. There was no time today to film the bottom recess video, so it will have to be done tomorrow.

    Gosh, haven't you come a long way in 5 odd years.... You were one of the first people I latched onto on youtube when planning my journey into the world of woodturning when my retirement came round. Now i'm living in Spain, I have been playing around in the shed for some months now and I can look up on my shelves and see all the Hampshire Sheen products that I watched you bringing into the market. More power to you and Les' elbows and I wish you all the best for the future. Will definitely be looking out for those lives.

      Hey John! Great to hear from you again. I'm pleased you've been out in the shed getting some creative time in. I'll be emailing out some Live schedule stuff in a few days, I expect....got to think of some projects to do, too. Any ideas?

      @@msabansmith Hi Martin, I had a thought but not sure if it is a bit boring... Was thinking about maybe showing us relative newbies some fairly easy projects for us to sell at craft fairs... (when they get going again). Maybe something like some tea- light holders with a M.Saban-Smith twist or how about the Owl that you did some time ago... Sorry I can't think of anything more spectacular ( you've already done most of those ). I was thinking along the practical sale lines. For instance, I've still got to do the pendants that you did all those years ago. Stay safe and speak to you soon. John

      Certainly is, John. The original workshop is still there of course, but is now working as the teaching room. We're all good here thanks. I hope you are all OK down in the west country. It must be a couple of years since you went down there....

      Thanks, Alan. It's not just Les and I doing our stuff. There has been a lot of hired help here, too! John and Bill have done the majority of the donkey work (to a higher standard than we could manage), Lee, his partner and Mark have done the woodshed . . . there will be a proper video and thanks when it's all done. And yeah - a lot of grafting indeed!

    Martin.
    Was just thinking that we have not seen much from you. Good timing. This all sounds very exciting for you and has been fun to watch. I am new to your channel since May 2020 and have really enjoyed your videos. You have a wonderful natural personality and I enjoy watching. I am new to wood turning started during this pandemic. How ever I am a longtime wood worker. It is tough for me to watch you live. I am on the west coast of the USA (Oregon) you come on live around 11:00AM. So I get the recorded version. Can’t wait for the new videos! One idea on a video topic, “sourcing turning wood”. It’s not as easy as one would think. Lance

    Ambitious programme, Martin; best of luck to you both. I like to drive down to Pompey for holidays, so perhaps I will be able to call in next Summer, virus permitting. It should be "All systems Go" by then. Lots of chucks on the wall: do you have another ,smaller, lathe for those odd jobs? I find that improves efficiency and satisfaction in my workshop, which is only slightly larger than your personal space. Bernard.

    Beautiful set-up Martin - congratulations. Question please -- Did you consider a monitor in the store that you can show your work from all of the camera views? Then of course some form of audio communication between the store and your shop. I look forward to seeing all of your future videos. Any chance we will see Les in a video - love to see a video on his production work. Thanks.

    • @msabansmith
      @msabansmith  3 года назад

      Thanks Dennis.
      The monitor by the cameras can turn round to point through the window into the shop and I have a special button that changes the the screen to show the relevant cameras.
      Les will be making an appearance in future videos for sure. They will be on a different YT channel, too.

    what's happened to your old workshop?

    • @msabansmith
      @msabansmith  3 года назад +1

      Which old workshop? The old-old one is household storage for our bikes etc. The new-old workshop is where the beginning of the video was shot - it is now a teaching room.
