10:33 this is not the time to talk about wealth inequality. Capitalism is the need of the hour in India. We can talk about such issues once we have jobs for everyone!
Exactly. US has more income inequality than India, yet their average person is richer by far on average when compared to an average Indian. So I don't mind if income inequality in India rises as long as the poorest people in India are richer with the higher inequality than with lower inequality. That said , capitalism with just the right mix of socialism is the best form of economy. Runaway capitalism like USA can destroy a country. Crony capitalism is bad. Thankfully, we have CCI.
The reason why most millionaires & billionaires leave the country is due to the extreme red tape by the Indian Bureaucracy. Add to that the fact that politicians (irrespective of party) demand electoral bonds , which if the billionaires don't bow down & hand it over to them , the businesses end up getting raided by govt officers repeatedly to harass them. Even honest businesses get mowed down as these officers have also been reported to plant evidence. Lastly , the recent situation in Mumbai (after the bomb threat at Antilia) has revealed that businessmen are under threat from political competition too. Most of them end up getting caught in the crossfire. Most of them leave the country because other countries mentioned provide better facilities. In India you need to grease a lot of hands (govt officers , politicians , etc) to even open a small shop , let alone a startup or big business.
Part of the harassment is also due to foreign funded NGOs and sometimes foreigners bribing Indian bureaucrats to target Indian businessmen and Indian scientists.
@@death_parade True that. I actually read that the big corporations in developed countries pay hefty sums to Indian Bureaucracy to suppress start ups that can create a competition for them in the future.
In india there super rich people. They help needy. I'm from South India, many rich people's including celebrities help needy. And Fact is in India poor family will be having good amount of jewelry and lands but they keep this as safety and still go search of daily wage jobs. So in India even poor people are rich when compared to other countries who don't have lands, or worth things and go to any extent for sake of money.
It's very noble to say that money can be spent doing charity but noone in this comment section even myself will donate that much to charity, I can guarantee. Honestly there's no ideal way to help the poor, the money you'll give to help them would be spent most likely on alcohol / gambling. The only way one can do good to society is teach the kids/ adults some civic sense and morals, one can figure out many things once they have some civic sense.
If I earn more than the need, I would, we try to donate on festivals rather than spending on fast fashion or luxury. People need to care, even the poorest person helps others. And richest snatch from poor. So it’s about foundational ethics.
@@Kathakathan11 there's a saying "its easy said than done". And how do you define "need"? You may have a television in your home, some minimalist would define that as useless, thus by his or her definition you should not have a television in your home or even if you have one right now, you should immediately cash it out and donate the money to the poor. Needs are relative, and so is the decision to donate your wealth or not. You basically want to be a freebie on some other person's wealth. That's pitty !

The thing is, that with the decline of the socialist governance that kept India in poverty for 2 generations, the average Indian's resentment towards the super wealthy has drastically reduced. The massive upswing of rags to riches stories from smaller towns, for example, has made it very aspirational.
That’s doesn’t give them right to monopoly and compromise environmental integrity. People are delusional, our over competitive society & education system has created uncritical sheep mentality generation.
The first and second rich guys are actually best buddies with the ruling govt and our corporate loving PM. Adani now owns multiple airports. Hey Jaby, the narrator pronounced Deepika's name correctly. It is supposed to be pronounced as " Deepika Padu-Koné ", but when the name started to get pronounced by others they completely changed it the way you said.
Dipika is from Udupi in Karnataka and the way the person in the video pronounced "padukone" is actually how it's pronounced, the bollywood i.e. north Indians pronounce it wrong as they usually do with most south indian names.
the estimate is around 63 people control 50% of all global resources while the rest 50% is distributed amongst the rest of the 7billion which is also being lost to the 63 day by day... I studied this during a world affairs classes of UPSC aspirants of India
8:57 pronunciation of Padukone is correct in the video.. She pronounces it wrongly.. Padukone is a place in Karnataka where Deepika's father belongs to.. it literally means "sleeping room" or "west room"
But that doesn't make him the richest, as you said he "donates" the money back, hence losing claim over it... So its a misleading fact about him being the richest by worth and an amazing fact about Ratan Tata as a person...

No. Had Ambani not brought in the Jio revolution, the Government of India's Aadhar-based direct benefit transfer to the poorest Indians would never have worked as effectively. DBT destroyed a large chunk of low level corruption. Look I get it, people admire Tataji for his caring spirit, but businessmen can't all be the same. Neither they should be. Because some high-tech businesses like microchip manufacturing requires huge investments that can only be done by businessmen who aren't spending away their money in charities. If everybody triees to be like Tata sir, they might end up failing in their business, because not everyone has that amount of business acumen to be able to grow their business despite spending a lot on charity. If the business that fails, happens to be a strategic one, such as one that makes all the titanium in our country, it could end up being a strategic blow to entire India as India would suddenly become dependent on imports of Titanium (just an example). So the primary quality in a businessman should be the ability to sustainably run a business. That said, I am against crony capitalism. But I am also against needless charity that encourages bad behaviour and acts like a drug, like in Delhi, where voters are selling their votes in exchange of free electricity. .

I agree that such millions behind marriage can be used for charity...
But the thing is they spent all such millions for marriage in india itself... which in turn gave such portion from their funds to someone indian only (except Beyonce 😜) ....which will go to economy only...
Edit:... Pls note that I'm neither for or against anyone... Here people keep replying about charity to poor and all...
They could be doing that also from their own RIL foundation...(not as much as Ratan Tata 😅...but still sufficient enough as an individual or a corporate) and it's also mendatory for Certain class of companies to do social activities as a part of CSR ...

I want to quote an interesting perspective shared by a famous film director RGV about a millionaire.
When the millionaire spend 3 million $ for his daughter's marriage, many criticised him for wasting money.
For that, the millionaire responded " If I used that same amount for buying a new property, no one has a problem even if they don't get anything out of it. But they are stupid enough to miss the point that because of my Daughter's marriage, I provided work directly and indirectly for atleast hundred of families."
Thats true, the mindset of common people is way different than what rich people think.
Every one is wrong, richest man in india is Tata,he is not on list because he gives 66% of his income to charity 👍👍👍.
Yeah but that doesn't make him the richest man... A person's "net" worth is calculated not total worth or potential worth... So you are wrong here, actually... If you give your money to charity then you can't also claim, well that was my money so add that to my income calculation metric...

@@Kathakathan11 LOL. Irony.
Cafe coffee day owner killed himself and in the sucide note he mentioned how the income tax department was harassing him.
@@adityathakur4118 This has been going on for a long time , most of these issues are covered up.
