Now they say that you should not attribute to malice what could be attributed to incompetence, but I don't believe for a second Amazon doesn't have the technical know-how to make a subscription cancellation confirmation show up in a timely manner.
Also, I just remembered. I tried getting rid of my Cabify because they kept sending me emails in Spanish despite having set my language to English. But of course there was no delete button, so I had to email some VIVA LA RAZA guy and give him my passport number, which isn't something I really carry on myself normally.

EU laws forces companies to let the user delete his account. Some websites implemented it in a way that you can only deactivate it, so you can't login again but all your data like comments its still there and public...

There is nothing surprising, actually. How to fully delete your account? Database developer goes to delete all your records from all tables? and go back to backup database to delete? They can't, your identity's primary key is connected with millions of other records that is not just you. So long story short, NOT POSSIBLE technically to delete your account in 90% cases, no one can delete your account. Unless you logged in to todo list.
