I get better return results if I break the flower up and remove any stick. Also if i press on a rainy humid day its the best, on hot dry days it drops a bit. If i wet paper towel piece with clean water and stick that in a ziplock with the flower it can be moisturized and dry flower will yield so much better.

Get humidity packs, big ones. 62% or 64% if you can get them. (Boveda Terpene Savers)
Put one in with your flower a couple days before you press.
If money is tight, a small piece of carrot overnight does wonders too.

You could go to hardware store, and pick up a 3/8 or 1/2 inch wooden rod that works great for tamping or pressings the flower into the bag. Its easier on the hands when prepping multiple batches. Thanks for the recommendation on the wood meter. I'm glad to hear of better way of accurately gauging the bud moisture in the drying process. I always felt like snapping the stems felt primitive lol

If you shim up the rear legs, you will get a better flow away from the heat source (plates). I use a 1/4 inch thick piece of plywood under the rear legs, and have their 12 (4"x7") ton press that I modified to be air driven! Had mine for more than 4 yrs and still going strong!
For occasional pressers, you can use a package of frozen vegetables to use as a cheap cold plate...LOL

It’s almost cured all the way. It’s ready just a bit before perfect smoking flower. That wood hydrometer is a really good tool. That little bit of extra moisture in there helps push the oil out of the flower when pressed. Like he said 60-63% 45-55 is better for smoking. The hydrometer has a different number I think he said 11-12

The best fastest way is out of the mouthpiece from a s&b. Just vape with whole grain😅. That will prevent particules from beimg mixed and even if mixed....it's still decarbed so it's your choice to use it whayever way you need to. You could even also add terpenes or use it straight like it. I noticed that it vapes longer and almost cleaner than any other types of roz.

like at 4:05 ish when you started talking about the green bag. like RIGHT at 4:08 would be a perfect time to splice the audio from the clip and do an overlay of a better shot of the item youre talking about and maybe show the website you bought it from while you talk about the item. you dont even need to do an extra voiceover recording, just use the original audio from the video but give us some visuals ya know?

    • @TheGratefulNerdGrows

Unfortunately I don’t have any numbers on what this flower is. the potency of the rosin will definitely be dependent by the flower so you’ll have to do some homework when you press yours! And obviously the gram of rosin will be higher than a gram of flower in thc and other compounds. Best of luck

I've heard a botanist say that alcohol doesn't actually kill plant diseases.

Depends on the disease and how the alcohol is used.
It definitely works on anything wil a cell wall that the alcohol can breach, often when using alcohol for sterility it needs to spend at least aminimum amount of time on a surface in order to have good effect. That means pure alcohols are often less effective than if they were watered down a bit.
70% alcohol 30% water is the usual mix used in labs which helps slow down the alcohol evaporation, meaning better sterilization.
