Another good song, Robin, with engaging lyrics! I like it! I used to have a Hawk guitar, back in the early 1970's. It was a 12-string (my first), and I kept it for a few years before selling it privately. I put the money towards an Admira classical guitar, which I enjoyed playing for 10 years or more. I've had several guitars since then, but don't think I'll be buying any more! I'm happy with my Martin and my two Faiths -- and my two ukuleles! Music is a wonderful thing!
Thank you so much, Robert. I'm pleased you like it, my friend. As I say, I wrote the words for a proposed collaborative project that never made it to the top of the pile. The rhythm of the lyric and idea for the melody came from the concept backing track I was given at the time. My firsr guitar was an old Spanish style guitar my parents bought me from the local junk shop. This was replaced by a Hofner with 'F' sound holes. It was cherry red with light stripes on the side. I bought it from the Grattan shopping catalogue and regret ever parting with it. That's when the Hawk came into my life. I've had the old girl for close on sixty years now. She went into semi-retirement when I got my first 12-string, but when we moved to France I had her serviced and now I play her most days. Thanks for dropping by.
@@robinrendellwordman8182 I had a Hofner electric guitar (Hofner Super Solid III 173) back in the 1960's, up until 1974. It was red with a black scratch-plate and had 3 pickups and a tremolo arm. I used a pick back then and was lead guitarist in a teenage band, briefly, until it folded! I saw one like mine advertised recently on ebay for £695! Seems like old Hofner vintage guitars are going for decent sums of money! I have a few photos on Facebook of me with that guitar!
