Should note that RFK, Landover, and Oxon Hill are all INSIDE the Beltway.. Dumfries is 20 miles outside the beltway on I-95, which can be a parking lot.
@@steveciccarelli3609Lol. Was up in the DC area on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend in 2014. It took us five hours to go 50 miles from Poolesville Md to Dumfries.
They are not leaving Landover for Virginia. They can build another stadium at the Landover site where they have already own the land and the zoning. Plus no that Synder is gone Maryland will give more money
There's no way they stay in Landover. It's in a bad spot, the traffic is terrible and if you take the metro on GameDay it takes a mile to walk to get there. National Harbor and the RFK spot is way better than Landover
@@teeerealsirrdee it’s in the middle of nowhere accessible by only a few minimal lane roads. It’s the most congested and least efficiently located stadium in the nfl by far.
@georgehenan853 whats in the middle of nowhere? You can not be talking about Landover. Right off of 95, not even 10 minutes from DC. Major retail, restaurants, and even a metro line by the stadium.. You make chit up and obviously have never been to the stadium.
You’re wrong. The whole reason they want RFK knocked down so they can repurpose it for a new stadium complex. Do u even live in DC because if you did, u would know this
Realistically, it's either DC, National Harbor in Southern Prince George's County, MD or staying in Landover with a new stadium. Virginia is not going to happen. When Jack Kent Cooke who owned then known as the Redskins in 1994 tried to move to the spot that Ted Leonsis wanted to move the Caps/Wizards at Potomac Yard in Virginia and the legislators apposed it.
@fullnelson9999 MGM is over there which would bring more money and Metro is thinking about the Green Line to have a station in that area. The current stadium is a disaster when Jack Kent Cooke went cheap to save money
The stadium needs to be covered to host a Super Bowl and on site a place that can host NFL draft. It's time to be a place that the NFL and Fans can be proud of!
Can Neo RFK Stadium be built for the Commanders, Old Glory DC and DC Defenders since the original RFK Stadium and FedEx Field Will be demolished in 2026-2030?
They should. It’s closer to the center of their fan base. Maryland makes the least sense. That puts your stadium at the northern edge of your territory, right up against the southern edge of ravens country.
It'll likely be at Stadium Armory aka old RFK. With new ownership it opens up the federally owned land being sold or transferred for purchase to build. That area needs to be revitalized. Trust me, they aren't going to Woodbride or Dumfires. The logistical nightmare that comes with that is sickening. Loundon County makes sense because the HQ is in Ashburn and the metro goes out there.
RFK. Not just because it's .5 MI from my house, but because that area really only works for a stadium, and it's just a vacant hole in the city right now.
NOVA is best because it ties the team to all the cities in Virginia. Way more fans will come from Richmond, Va. Beach, Roanoke, Norfolk, etc. Maryland already has a team. No point in having two NFL teams in the small state of Maryland. Traffic is a major issue around the beltway. It is much easier for DC residents to travel to NOVA than for all the perimeter cities to travel into DC. Lastly, if you want to limit how many fans travel from PA, NJ and NY to Wash games, then move the stadium to NOVA where you will have a larger local fan base and less access for the northern opponent NFL fans.
Dumfries, Woodbridge. I don't see the road infrastructure is terrible. RFK the land is not possible. Most modern football stadiums are very huge. Look at the Raiders and the Rams new stadium.
I live in DC.. please don’t bring it to rfk! Traffic is already hell!!! The infrastructure is not like it used to be with population! Move it to the national harbor and put it on the hill where you can see the city. Major heys to get you in Md, Va, and dc. Makes the most sense
When The Redskins/Commanders moved to Landover, then owner Jack Kent Cooke wanted to name the area where the stadium is Raljon, after his son’s Ralph and Jon. It went away after Synder bought the team
The reason Landover sucks is because we haven't won anything there. Stadium sucks and there is nothing around it. However the new renderings at Landover look stunningly amazing. I wouldn't count them out. RFK is still the #1 site
Moving to Virginia is stupid. Either RFK or stay where they are at Commanders Field and just tear it down and build a new dome stadium and sports complex over there in PG County.
I'm sure it's RFK/Lot 8 as the top option. None of the Virginia ones make any sense except for Sterling, being that the headquarters are in Ashburn. If they position it in that quarry properly, it'd be very close to the Metro. The biggest complaints would probably be from people that drive having to pick up *that* toll.
When Snyder owned the Redskins (commanders), he had a plan to build a water moat around the new stadium. That would have been really cool. Wherever they go, I want the moat that was promised to fans.

Woodbridge is a decent location, right near I-95. Sterling is a high income area near their practice facility in nearby Ashburn and Dulles airport. They should be called the DMV Commanders, DMV stands for the District, Maryland and Virginia.
Woodbridge is not a decent location. Traffic is awful, and there is no metro. And they would lose folks in Maryland, DC and even in parts of Northern Virginia.
They need to remain the Washington, DC Commanders. They need to go back to RFK or just tear down and build a new dome stadium in Landover, MD where they are now.
Believe me, all fans want them to play at the former RfK site.
I'm gay too buddy lol

They are not moving Woodbridge. Too far from DC, Maryland and even folks in Northern Virginia. Plus no public transportation
Not to mention that traffic is horrendous

I agree I believe it's going to be RFK stadium
I think the government would be willing to give it over

All this info is from years ago when Snyder owned the team. They have started from scratch since the team has been sold.
They're gonna build where ever the Metro takes them. The new stadium has to have mass transit to the site.
