Discovered Deftones only in 2021 and i swear this is my favorite band. Their music just takes me to a different planet

The intro is very much lifted from the song "Cicatriz Esp" by The Mars Volta - from the 6:00 mark. The guitar riff that follows the intro leading into the first verse of this song, is chord-for-chord "Phone Call" by Jon Brion for the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
This is one of the best songs Deftones have put out. Ever.
Rosemary, Entombed, and Digital Bath are worthy opponents, but I agree with you.

Eventualmente la vuelves a escuchar, se mezcla en tus listas de reproducción, cada vez con mayor intensidad y aunque no seas del todo consciente cada vez te entra diferente. La canción madura en tu interior con cada escucha y se va convirtiendo en una necesidad.

Chino uses that theme in many Deftones tracks. All great bands do that. Water and drowning are recurring themes. Think of Cherry Waves. A British band called Suede do the same thing. They've been around as long as Deftones and keep getting better. Pure art. If you desire something new, check out the Suede album called Night Thoughts. Great record. Deftones have always been awesome, but man, going back and listening to Adrenaline and then listening to this album it's ALMOST like two different bands, both equally as good. They've tweaked their sound so much, but still managed to stay unique and sincere.
D'Artangan Oswald that's true but there's something in every deftones song that makes me notice that what I'm listening to is deftones
adrenaline is the rawest version of their depths. me being close to chinos age, I grew right along with them. I was angry when adrenaline came out just like them, I was Mellon collie when around the fur came out and have been with them every step since. this band is the essence of me.

I was a big deftones fan when i was younger . I stopped listening after white pony. My 32 year old little brother was a massive fan. He kept bugging me to check out their news stuff. After receiving his second shot he passed away from a heart attack. I've been listening to all the albums on repeat. Matthew was right. "Deftones are awesome ". This is beautiful

This song...wow. I think it's my favorite from Gore. Heavy but soft and pretty but morbid all at the same time. I don't know any other bands that can do that. It's like swerve city, it's got this sexy sound but heavy sound it's fucking great. I love this band.

First 2 songs released from this album have been pretty generic in my opinion compared to their older stuff, but this is fantastic and could have fit onto White Pony.

The album is a step ahead from what you expect it to be but believe me when I say that this album is badass from start to finish. Gore should've been the follow up to Diamond Eyes.
Honestly I'm surprised everyone in the comments loved Diamond Eyes. I consider Deftones my favorite band, but I haven't loved one of their albums since self titled. Diamond Eyes was definitely better than Koi No Yokan but it had so many tracks that weren't exceptional.
Like so many of their songs, Chino soothes you with the voice, then the gang PUNCHES YOU IN THE FACE WITH SOUND.

It's actually a win-win-win situation because you have a physical copy, you appreciate the music since you payed for it, and you keep Deftones in business. If you like Deftones and say you are a fan, show it by buying an album. Do this for other newer bands too because nowadays, the only money they make is through touring, so album money can really help them out. Thanks guys
+Drake Davis its funny but you'd think Deftness would be a hip enough band to realize that nobody is going to buy this, I mean you do hear a lot of their songs in TV shows and movies, so i think thats where they plan to make the bucks. but yea i agree, but disagree, obviously for the die hards your going to want a hard official copy to crank up in the system, maybe even a vinyl version would be a good idea.

I can't agree more! I love these two songs and I love the fact that Jerry Cantrell is a part of them putting a little Alice in Chains in there, a band I also love.

Deftones have been one of my favorite bands since the Saturday night Wrist album, and every album that I've heard from them, before that album and since, I can tell they've always been one of those bands that keeps evolving their sound, and Hearts and Wires is no different. Absolutely love this song, especially the guitars, this might be my favorite track off of Gore so far.

Found deftones when I was 17, this was the first song. I still don’t know why my parents never listened to this amazing band. I’m finna put my mom on to this joint 🙌🏻

Was anyone in high school when Adrenaline came out? I remember on the bus, my friend had the cd (in a discman!), gave me a listen, and told me, "they're good, they sound like Korn." That was right around when Korn came out with their 2nd album (I think Adrenaline came out like a week before it). God, back then everyone liked Korn. Anyway, whats my point.....oh yeah, my point is Korn fucking sucks! That Deftones album blew away that Korn album, but everyone was saying they were ripping off Korn.
Glad Deftones had staying power, and didn't fall into the nu-metal shit they were seemingly being thrown into back then. Their music speaks for itself. They have such a wide variety of what they can do and don't sound like anyone else in doing it. Over the years they refined and expanded on that sound.
Can't wait to get my hands on this, comes out the same as the Cult Of Luna/Julie Christmas album!
