+pattonPwr nah, not exactly the same. there's a huge difference between Diamond Eyes and SNW. Then there's a huge difference between that album and Koi No Yokan. They keep their root sound while expanding it and adding it more flavours. every deftones' album has been more atmospheric than the last.
+Dyllyo Deftones is the absolute best band from that era. While Korn and Limp Bizkit try to re-ignite old, tired ideas, Deftones continue to evolve and transcend genres. Deftones and Mastodon are the most important heavy bands in the world right now as far as I'm concerned.

They are so creative and talented and their music strikes an internal chord few bands do. It's amazing how these guys stay relevant and engaged throughout all these years. The eerie guitar riff on this track is hypnotic. I'm sure there will be other heavier tracks with some sick Carpenter riffage on this album.

Kaylee Kegley Well I love Chino because he's a very interesting vocalist that does pretty much anything: sings, screams, raps, whispers, makes interesting sounds etc. He's really uses his voice as an instrument. He does a good job in this new track, but I feel that we are missing some of the other members. I mean the song "Change" showcased the other members better. Abe's drumming went hard on that song, Stephen had heavy power chords along with his little solo type riff on the bridge of the song, and even Frank had some hypnotic soundscapes all over the song which he didn't have on this new one. This new song isn't bad, just seemed like a Crosses song.

I dont know what flamingos have to do with gore, but I get it. It fits the mood and feel of this album. I love when I can put on headphones and listen to an album and not realize the songs changed from one to the next. You get the full effect when you experience this instead of listen to it. The music, the artwork, the name, the experience all fit to make a masterpiece. I love this album.
i always relate it to city life, living in Baltimore we have a lot of flamingos 🦩 in our front yards as lawn decorations. Too see them flying in the album cover is to me like seeing them being free & flying away. Not often do we see flamingos in flight, I think they did that on purpose too. I've loved Deftones since 2000. one thing I've always noticed is that the fans are super hardcore. Deftones are really a cult following type of band. I honestly can't think of a bad song by them. there are none that I hate.
Deeken Wheeler I'm a huge music nerd and if you really know your stuff, you can hear tons of different genres in their music. For example, my favorites that they tend to dip in would be Shoegaze, Dream-pop, and some old 90's hardcore/dischord bands and such.
been in deep feelings with this band for over 10 years now. & the moment I heard Minerva in my teenage angst years I still have not gotten "that" same feeling from any other song I've ever listened to since the first time I listened to Minerva. Everyone gets "that" feeling from a certain song and Minerva was mine. This song though I love it. deftones are the leaders in alternative rock and no one will EVER be able to touch Chino Moreno's vocal level skills. You know why?? Because they are the leaders of it all!!!
***** ofcourse! the acoustic version of be quiet and drive is hands down my second favorite song by them. b-sides and rarities is definitely one of my favorite albums from them. If you haven't yet, listen to team sleep Chino is the lead vocalist in that band too. Team Sleep is the next best thing to deftones.
I remember when Minerva started playing, this asian Yoko Uno looking dude passed me a blunt. It was like my world just stopped. Purple sunset on a massive hill, pillows of smoke in the air... Just enjoying the vibrations of the ground with my best friend.
I have no idea why this video has such a powerful way of conveying emotion, maybe it's how each time the camera pans out it shows more of the flamingos but it's amazing
A lot of people who don't like this song probably haven't listened to their old stuff. When I first tuned in, I immediately got a vibe which kinda feels like a hybrid between White Pony and Saturday Night Wrist. The intro sounded like a toned-down version of RX Queen intro, the guitar riffs were fantastic...everything is fantastic! Honestly, these guys never disappoint. I'm excited to buy this album in the weeks to come.
This is a classic demonstration of how progressively music can grow on you. At first I wasn't a big fan of this album, but after listening to it more and more it really is a fantastic example of how they put their soul into their work.
I understand the many fans looking for the more old school hard rocking Deftones. I'm one of them. But I also appreciate music like this too. I'm older now as are Deftones, so it kind of fits. I hope there will be more harder stuff in the rest of the album, but I trust them and, after all, it's their music not mine. That being said, it's always a special time when a new Deftones album comes out. It makes me feel like a kid again. Thanks to Deftones for continuing to make amazing music. Never stop.

New Deftones makes me beyond happy...don't really listen to metal anymore but Deftones will be a band I'll always have time for. 1. They're all incredibly forward thinking musicians 2. I heard this song back when it was a few weeks old, Everytime I'd listen to Deftones I'd try to find this song again because I forgot the name of the song but remembered this beautiful chorus. I just stumbled upon this again and I couldn't be happier.
I wasn't that impressed by this track at first but now I absolutely love it. Surprisingly rough around the edges but well, it's Deftones, meaning Expect the unexpected ;) That's what I love about them: they don't stick to any formula. They're a band with such a strong personality that it'll sound like Deftones anyway, no matter what they do!
I just picked up the album today, and the whole album is amazing. This is the beat thing they've put out in over a decade. Kudos to them for finding real inspiration again.

DEFGON yeah, filter fan But Deftones are by far my favourite Band, been following them from the release of Adrenaline, seen them countless times, and can hand on my heart say that they haven't released a single bad song, and every album has been amazing. Soundtrack to my life.

one thing ive always loved about Deftones is the drumming. Very often they have somewhat of an 'irregular' drum beat, very cool.

I´m an old school deftones fan and my favourite deftones phase is the darker one with WP-ST-SNW, but I don't want that they still doing the same althought it was my favourite deftones phase ..they have to evolve, The best bands evolve and is what deftones have been doing since they realised their first album, and if you want more agressive, and anger chino you have the old albums and thousand of youtube videos live to keep enjoying those times..

I heard this song back when it was a few weeks old, Everytime I'd listen to Deftones I'd try to find this song again because I forgot the name of the song but remembered this beautiful chorus. I just stumbled upon this again and I couldn't be happier.
When I first heard this song. I felt like I was free falling in the sky.
I wasn't that impressed by this track at first but now I absolutely love it. Surprisingly rough around the edges but well, it's Deftones, meaning Expect the unexpected ;) That's what I love about them: they don't stick to any formula. They're a band with such a strong personality that it'll sound like Deftones anyway, no matter what they do!
