That drummer was fantastic. I wanted to hear the cymbals but stayed to watch this guy lay down a wicked beat. Nice use of toms and cymbals for fills. Didn’t over play anything. The cymbals fell right into the mix nicely. Good job!

BionicleSaurus absolutely my favorite cymbal line by far. Have played many brands of cymbals over the last 41 years and Byzance is the best sounding I've ever played. Convnced the pastor to buy a couple for the house drum kit at the church and they make the perfect crescendos as well as crashes in the mix. Now if I could just afford them for myself.
Everything about this video is amazing, the playing, the cymbals, the sound of the drums, the viewing angle, well done! What a great way to show off these beautiful cymbals. I am a Paiste guy but have a Meinl Trash Crash that I love and I absolutely love that 10" dual splash, I have to have it!
I have all those except the 22" crash ride. Man they sound amazing!! You almost don't have to EQ the either when recording, they're that great out of the box.
I own a 10 byzance duel splash love it! I have an 18 byzance duel crash and it's my favorite cymbal next would be the new 18 dark trash stack which is my favorite stack because I've tried all the signature stacks and there just a little overbearing in my opinion but being they made this combo in darks! It's toned the attack down with just a slight delayed trashy overwash which is just right for effects but if you lay into it the sustain opens up especially if there set a little loose. My favorite most versatile big stack meinl has on the market and my favorite crash the byzance duel 18! Thanks Meinl all your products are awesome✌
Mixed perfectly with a great drummer smashing just the right tasty fills on a cool four-chords of awesomeness backing track. As another said, came for the cymbals stayed for the song. Thanks! Now I should go practice more..
@@samcooke343 I agree! Obviously the gear that was used for this video is high-end so that makes things easier. It's still damn impressive how lovely this mix sounds. Like how do you even make Toms sound like THAT!? Insane.
With all the cymbals I own, I’ve never found one set that could satisfy every sound that I am looking for in one cymbal....until now. I just ordered a 20” Crash/Ride, 18” and 16” crash and in all likelihood I’ll have my hands on a set of hats and a splash too.
I really love how these sound and wondered if they would be loud enough to use for classic hard rock stuff... like Van Halen, Motlry Crue, Sabbath, etc... miked up with a P.A live...
Bran drums are Yamaha Maple Custom, with the gold lugs. Snare is likely a custom build, gold hardware and Trick throw off and butt...they do sound delicious. 😋
These sound beautiful! I wonder how they'd fit within the metal genre? I play many styles of music but love metal so I'm looking for a very versatile cymbal that can do it all
@@sam69826 thanks! This was my question as well. Hopefully Meinl would agree to let me play drums to it as well and show off my own collection of Meinl Cymbals.
I’m sure they’re high quality but they have no presence in the mix. I prefer cymbals that stand out in the mix better and shimmer. I’ve never been into the dry dark cymbals sounds that seem popular today.
Is this a Christian rock song? Because it sounds like Christian rock. Granted, most Christian rock is based on ripping off U2, Coldplay and Mumford & Sons song formulas.
Yep I played at a church for three years and that was my thought as well! And I would gladly trade years of playing in bars for more months of playing at the church! Just a different appreciation!
Hi Dean, no it's not "Christian Rock." It's just a tune that we worked on with a writer - who doesn't work in that genre - and this is just the way it came out. Thanks for watching the video!

Such a good demo where you can hear how perfectly the cymbals fit into the mix (instead of having them louder than usual).
One of my favorite Byzance lines by far! The 18 inch crash is a dream.

Also the 20" Crash-Ride and the 10" Splash😍😍
Who is this guy? Whoaaa! Easily the most memorable drum track and ultra rad song we've heard in awhile!
Those might be the best sounding toms I’ve ever heard in my life.. and I’ve got the 20” but together they are so harmonious! 😍
Old school Yamaha Maple Customs. Some of the best drums ever made.
My favorite series🥺🥺
I never miss any of these gorgeous Meinl videos. Best in the business! Top notch audio, video and of course, cymbals!😍

Super clean playing, production, kit, and those damn warm cymbals.
10/10 for what it is
Excellent sounding cymbals. I'm team Meinl all the way!
Great lighting and great overhead shot for the video. Love this view.

What a great drummer. Nailing those fills at the second take (as I guess from the marks on the toms)... Damn, so clean. And he's also very musical!
Curious what makes you conclude that this is exactly the second take.
@@MadMatty01 I guess by the marks on the toms, but of course I could be wrong :)
He would have to hit the toms while sound checking the kit.
