      Please don't levy unfair expectations on your future husband. I can assure you, most guys don't like to have these convos on a regular - christian or not- unless it's their job🤑. Don't complicate your life with narrow ideas of a good partner. *Not saying that you are.* But, vision, dependability, grit and introspection go far beyond the warm and fuzzies. 💛

      I hope that you are just not sitting and waiting. Prayer without works is just a dream. Many times as women we are so afraid to take a chance. God doesn’t want us to just wait around for life to happen to us. He wants us to live a holy life with the emphasis on “live’. While you are living your holy life He will then bless you with a soul mate,but you want me that soul mate without living life. It comes full circle. Believe me I have been a widowed and divorced but through all of those painful experiences God has been with me to left me see how wonderful life is and that I should never give up living it. With Him by my side I am a force to be reckoned with. My God continue to bless you.

    I became a strong woman because of the absence of a father figure in my life. Dad wasn’t around much, mom married 4 times. Grandfather passed when I was 13 and the other grandfather passed before I was born. I was married 23 years and I still have never felt the protective male influence in my life. I can’t wait for that day that a man is willing to hold me so I can let down. I’m tired. I’ve done the work and healing, and have become my own source of what I need and want. I still would like a healthy partnership to pour into each other and experience the healthy dynamic of love, support, acceptance, and integrity.

      This man is talking sensibly like a man of God however there are mad men out there who have no qualms using your body till you're spent while not caring about your wellbeing.

    This podcast has truly changed my life. Jonathan and Kanika are one of my favorite married couples to listen to and grow from in marriage, ministry, and parenting. This episode really put a lot into perspective for me as I prepare for marriage.
    Laterras, you may not know it, but you have sat with Dr. Lois Evans every time you talked to her husband, children (biological and spiritual), and grandchildren. Her influence is so evident in how you are so careful to affirm your future wifey in your letters as well as your intentionality with your guests. In fact, Kanika reminds me of her gentle and quiet spirit as she speaks in few words but so profound. Please don't regret not spending more time with her in those moments, instead, rejoice that the evidence of her impact on the earth still resonates in you. Think on these things and let your heart praise the Lord all the more. Thank you for another excellent episode. 👏🏽

    I wish men would understand they are not the only ones who need sex women need it too! I’m speaking for the women with high sex drives & whose love language is physical touch, who don’t even think about withholding nothing from their husband Lol or future husband even if they’ve had a disagreement! Great word overall though I really like when he spoke about how a woman should ALWAYS be covered as she goes from being protected and covered by her father to then being protected and covered by her husband. & when he spoke for those whose fathers weren’t in their life. So many great things they said I also love when his wife said during a disagreement she told her husband “remember we are a team” what a beautiful and gentle reminder during a moment of frustration to keep that at the forefront of our minds! Great word👏🏽

      I humbly disagree... SLIGHTLY...LOL... When I see Lady Kanika she's EXACTLY what Mr. Samuels communicates. She is Fit, Beautiful, and Inspirational (F.B.I). Mr. Jonathan has done and is doing EXACTLY what Mr. Samuels communicates which is to be Confident, Intelligent, and Assertive (C.I.A). Mr. Samuels can be quoted "that Men need to provide, protect, and exercise "PEN!S" discipline." Mr. Jonathan has done and is doing that. Lady Kanika talked about how she observed Jonathan's Mother NOT walk in masculine NOR modern energy. Mr. Samuels talks about how the modern woman has gotten away from Momma Evans type of walk and example. Lady Kanika was articulate and deferred 80% to Mr. Jonathan to speak during this conversation. And Mr. Jonathan was not a toxic male who wouldn't let his wife speak...he would give ally oops to Lady Kanika to bring "help meet" energy to the convo and SHE SLAM DUNKED IT! These are ALL principles that Mr. Samuels encourages, highlights, and stresses ESPECIALLY for the black and brown community. #My2Cents

    First of all, I love your facial expressions, they're quite entertaining. 😂 But going deeper into the discussion, I really hit home when Jonathan stated," If God hasn't changed him, why do we think we can." Honestly, I believe a lot of our desire to change men, stems from not waiting and trusting God to send us what we need. Sometimes we (the flesh) want, what we want! Before watching your podcasts, I didn't even believe that a man like you STILL existed (single, saved and serious about marriage). It gives me hope. 🙏🏾 Also, I believe that consistency is a love language. I learned a great deal about the different aspects of intimacy - giving and receiving. Thanks for sharing. 💜

      Aren't weapons used purposely to injure? Why do people assume if a spouse doesn't want sex it's being used as a weapon instead of a defense? If 2 are to be united as one then wouldn't it make sense that if one is feeling less valued the act of sex can feel abusive for that person. Really?? expecting enjoyment without emotional synchronization makes no sense to me. But maybe that's because I'm the one who doesn't enjoy it without feeling emotionally safe.

    • @coreyhaga2623
      @coreyhaga2623 3 года назад

      @Keisha Puryear . I have heard many women say this and it is a legitimate question , there is also a lot of truth in it to be sure . The problem comes when one or the other people in the relationship only wants sex one way . Men view sex and intimacy as separate things even more so depending on the relationship . Women see this as as one complete package . Men are not women , we have a chemical Testosterone that has been called toxic because it makes a man a man 💪🏼. We have to be ready to protect our family and sometimes violence is needed to ensure peace . To put it bluntly , we have to be ready to Kill . Some men struggle with controlling that savagery while others struggle with the ability of unleashing it . Keisha. If your man is the more savage type ( caveman ) follow these simple steps . When he’s home , fill his belly with proteins ( food ) until he falls asleep . Avoid caffeine , alcohol , anything that makes him more intense ! Find someway to have a quickie to lower his testosterone ! Later when the day is over you will find the lover you desire has been their with you the whole time . This works on all men ! I pray the Lord bless you and yours and keep you safe from all harm in Jesus mighty name Amen 🕊

    I mainly enjoyed this talk, but I feel like at moments, it was suggested that wives are responsible if their husband turns to pornography. While I totally agree that a wife can "withhold wrongly" so to speak, but a man is responsible for his own sexual integrity and his own choices. And saying sex is a need completely discounts the journey of those of us who are not married. We are all called to live with sexual integrity, married or unmarried. But like I said, great talk.

      You “feel like at moments...” How? He simply admonished wives to be mindful of creating an atmosphere that makes “fast food” more appealing by keeping the “garden” closed. Do what you can to reduce temptation. Again, how does this even remotely hint at him not being responsible for his actions and choices?

    • @knicolecurtis
      @knicolecurtis 3 года назад +16

      @@damianholmes3049 Of course, I don't think he meant that men are not responsible for their own actions explicitly, but when you define sex as a need, it lays the groundwork for the mindset of "Well, I'm not getting it at home. I'll look elsewhere." Again, I am not excusing a wife withholding sex from her husband as way to manipulate in anyway. But we also can't say - well she wasn't giving him what he needed, so he it makes sense that he turned to porn, etc. Again, I know that the Pastor wasn't saying that outright. But again, defining sex as need plays into that logic. Best.
