Claudia Jones - Preventing cruelty through empowering communities to care for animals

The Community Outreach team at RSPCA NSW support high priority communities with services and initiatives that work to improve the welfare of animals, the wellbeing of people and strengthen the human-animal bond.
The Outreach team provides preventative and early intervention services and education through a range of community outreach initiatives across the state, with the goal of improving animal welfare and preventing welfare concerns by providing core veterinary health services, resources and information that assist people to care for and value animals.
The presentation will expand on these suite of community programs, how the priority communities are selected and the wrap around supports being implemented to remove some of the barriers to veterinary care and empower pet guardians and the broader community to be part of the solution to keep pets in their homes.
