Reading My Medical School Personal Statement | 20 Interview Invites & Accepted

Hello friends!! Today I am sharing with you all my personal statement that I wrote to apply to medical school that has gotten me 20 interviews and multiple acceptances so far.
Deciding to share this statement online was not an easy choice as the personal statement is truly personal. Writing this statement can be daunting and it is even more daunting to share it publicly. However, I had a few reasons that led me to share it with you all today.
First, writing a strong personal statement is not an easy task and when I was writing mine it truly helped me to be able to read or listen to examples. I'm passionate about helping other students be successful in achieving their goals of attending medical school.
Second, there is power in story telling and I am proud to share and document my journey and my story. I have been so blessed to have received multiple acceptances and I hope that this will inspire others to share their authentic stories when they apply to medical school.

The way you turned a non clinical volunteer experience into something so impactful was incredible. I always watch med school application videos from this one guy who is a doctor and he always looks down on volunteer work in a hospital that’s non-clinical (like handing out snacks & blankets etc) but that’s so not true because you literally do interact with patients and comfort them. I was getting discouraged because not all of us will have the opportunity to get hands on clinical experience besides volunteering or shadowing. Thank you so much for sharing your story ❤️

As an overly perfectionistic writer, I’ve watched a decent amount of these personal statement videos by now in an effort to inspire myself to fix my own. This personal statement is FAR AND AWAY the absolute best one I have encountered yet. No exaggeration. You strike a wonderful balance between showing and telling, every sentence is intentional, it flows beautifully, and it’s such a cohesive narrative. Beyond just the construction of it though, the content and your discussion on it shows me you are extremely mature and empathetic. It’s just so genuine. I am so happy to know that 20 med schools saw the same standout quality that I saw here. You clearly spent a ton of time perfecting this, and yet, it doesn’t come off as inorganic. Rather, it feels raw and honest and just… wonderful. By far the best one I’ve come across. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors! I KNOW you’ll make a wonderful physician!
