Originally released in 1990 then re-released in the UK in 1991. This was a hit in the USA first, although the instrumental version was a Balearic hit through the summer of 1990 and topped the dance charts. We are all proud of this tune, it's originality and its politics.
It's hard to tell you how I feel without hurting you
So try to think about yourself the way that I see you
You're life revolves around the force of oppression
And I won't deal with the true blue devils of correction
Got no flowers for your gun
No hippychick
Won't make love to change your mind
No hippychick
No hippychick
No, hip hip hip hip hip
Today, we'll sit here drinking coffee in your incident room
Tonight, you'll close the door and lock me in that bare bulb gloom
Love, it ain't something riding on a motorbike
And love, I stopped loving you since the miners' strike
Got no flowers for your gun

Here in 2024. This song just popped into my head. I had to hear it.
I met the band back in the mid-90s when they came into the restaurant where I worked. Honestly some of the most polite and delightful people I've ever met--I mean, if you remember that about someone from 27 years ago, that's a pretty strong positive impression.
AWESOME!
I just Love that! ❤
Goosebumps everytime.
Born in 1977
I haven’t heard this song since the last century! When did it come out? 1990. I was 14 years old. Found myself thinking about it just now in my head and said, hey, I bet you tube has it.
Damn it feels good to be right.
I loved this song as a 13 year old and still do.
I was just 14 myself. Gen X In Da House! LOL It Just Randomly Popped In My Head As I Woke Up. It's Simplistically Perfect.
@@SOULSEER12 Good times :) Long live 90s dance music
Me too, was only 11 when it came out. It was so different from all the rest.
This song right here,. takes me back to my childhood 😄
Quit lying you still got loves for them 13yo. 😅
I done monitors for them for one show. The band were fantastic, but the energy that these ladies had was breathtaking. Absolutely one of my best ever gigs.
Still have my cassette single..Love The Smiths Sample.
My copy was sent to me as a choice off the back of a cereal box. I thought “sure wth.” When it came and I popped it in, woooooooooo, I was JAMMING 😂
Me too! ❤
aka The ca-single
@@NocturnalNuggets Nice! 😆👍
Chile I went to college in 1995 and returned a broken boom box to the store with that single inside 😂
This was my intro to Trip Hop....
PURE art..
1987-1997 is a period of music that will never be touched
1979 to 1997
@@toyman81 I respect
Cobblers. 1980-87 was the zenith. From 87 onwards the music scene declined. If you weren't there in the early 80's, you will never understand........
This just popped into my head in 2023
This song brings back memories. Still like it in 2024
This Jam just freaking rocks in Ibizia
Bought this in '90 on CD. Classic.
Absolutely love this - the tune, and the lyrics. ✊
Soho and johnny marr just works
Thank goodness for the alternative music scene back in the early 90’s. Big hair band music was quite lame and this great song was sampling the Smiths, giving hope to better music to come.
This song is perfect in every way. Always was and always will be.
Dang , that takes me back to 16yrs old in Knoxville Tn job Corp
One of my all time favorites ❤ Never saw the video until today. Love it even more. 2024
GenX late 80s banger
remember this song back when it popped up on the radio for the first time...i'm like WTF izzat? damn...now that's destined.
For me it was WHFS 99.1 in the Washington DC area.
I first listened to this when it was released because it starts with the Smith's sample and I thought my friend was playing me the Smith's and telling me it was something new.
I've always loved this song! 🎶❤️☮️
Always loved this song. When it first came out my GF at the time bought me a cassette single of it. Wore that thing out...
I had the cassette single too until somebody spilled their drink on it at a party. After that it wouldn't play right.
the tape or the GF
The Smiths (How Soon Is Now ) The Craft and Charmed 😊 I danced a many night at Sharkey’s in Blacksburg Virginia to Soho 🫶🏾 (Go Hokies) 90’s rules
Gooble Gooble. All dirt roads lead to Tech.
These girls were the bomb!
This song is so great and an absolutely perfect anthem for 2022.
Such a kick ass song to prance around the world too.
I miss being a teenager lol I remember hearing this playing in my sister’s room one day after school back in 1989? Lol damn that’s a jam
1990 song

This song is such a MOOD! 😎 I heard it at Whole Foods the other day and I was in a trance!
Beautiful! Lovely lyrics and moves. A song that brings back many happy memories.
The beginning of the song is very similar to How Soon is Now from The Smiths
they sampled it good
@@starman700 yes, it is! I'm not complaining, because it is good that a good song reminds another good song.
Love this song, takes me way back in life.
'I've been loving you since the miners' strike' has to be one of the best lines ever.
It's 'I *stopped* loving you since the miners' strike - !
Love the extended mix!
Thank you for this♥️ I haven’t heard this it came out. I was a teen. Such good music.
She's trying to explain modern alternative folks are not the old school hippies . Thats my take on it 💪😇🙏💖😎👍
Just a pure stone cool groove. Still Brilliant today.
So GOOD :)
always loved this song, this video is in sore need of an official remaster though...
Always amused me how the introduction is exactly the same as The Smiths How soon is now! ❤ top tunes
As of the time I typed this, I hadn't heard this song in about 30 years! Reading about The Smiths' "How Soon Is Now," which this song sampled, on Billboard's top 100 songs that didn't enter the Hot 100, brought me here. Reading about "How Soon" helped me recapture a lost piece of the soundtrack to my tween years.
Such an awesome song. Danced once or twice to it in the 90's (or more). 214 LOSERS dislike this video.
...............MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.........THA' DELICIOUS GROOVE.................
Oh my gosh, I described someone I know as a hippy chick then I found the song. Pure memories.
Absolute corker .....top tune
Love this song Thomas linehan
Reminds me of Beverly hills 90210
Excelente música
i can't remember if i had the 12" or the maxi cassette of this
How Soon is Now?
I’m sure that I’ve heard that guitar intro somewhere before? Sounds very underrated.
It’s sampled from the Smiths’ “How Soon Is Now?”
It was used in kid rocks back from the dead
It truly is a Marr-velous sample...
It is!!!😡
Was Marr behind this group or something?
Is that The Smiths sampled in the beginning?
Yeah the track is ‘How soon is now’
Why does the Beginning sound like The Smiths How Soon Is Now???
Because it's sampled from that song.
Andy Weatheral would surreptitiously blend into his Cheesey Quaver sets around that time, some would stop dancing question the ethic of dancing to a 'Pop' tune, shrug it off and go back to dancing the 'in-a-wheelchair-going-up-a-hill.' 91 was a good crossover year: ruclips.net/video/k3RzQ1b_c9w/видео.html
Tim, if you want, I have a hi res version. Just in case you no longer have it. I hope all is well over there! :)
How soon is now?

😁👋👍
Who was the director?
sample The Smiths 💙
mob princesses
Is it okay that I'm shocked they are Black.
I had no idea either. 😂
The background sound was stolen from the smiths
The band gave their permission. Morrissey & Marr receive 25% of the royalties. btw Sherlock, Morrisey & Marr were half of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘴.
