Good video! Just make sure you wait for that engine light to go out completely before you decide to turn the engine over. If you don't, it can be a reason that the truck throws a code.
i havent drove my truck for day & a half at a truck stop i turned the engine on for 20 minutes to charge battery and then 2 to 3 hours later i got the low voltage disconnect but. i didnt have any lights on or anything charging though... confused new driver by the way
No. what it actually means is that when the truck is off something is sucking power from battery and it should not be. best way to prevent problems is to install a battery cut off switch that will separate the batteries connection from the truck at the end of day when you are done.
@@kenzeigler2925 My company switched from a dry cell battery to gel cell batteries. They also changed the bus bars on the batteries. It's made a total difference. Like night and day. Before I couldn't leave my inverter on for more than 12 hours. Now I come back after 24 hours. My main battery is at 0%,& my Auxiliary battery is at 78%,& my truck still starts! So, I never have to worry about bringing my food home on my home time. However, I do start my truck for at least an hour per day on my home time because transferring $200.00 in groceries for 4 days off is more of a pain.
@@chicobruney8586 Sounds like an excellent idea. I ran it by my boss, but he's not interested because we would have to change out the whole fleet, numbering in the hundreds. Not cost effective from where he sits I suppose. Thanks for the reply! Ken
Your batteries will run your fridge for 4 days?? I need those I spent 2500 dollars on 4 AGM dry cells and I can only run my fridge for 2 at most before I get the LVD warning@@chicobruney8586

Did you ever figure it out? Just switched out batteries, I got starter batteries, next I'm gonna buy deep cycle batteries. Hell, not only did It keep giving me lvd warning, when I turn the key to start the engine, my dashboard blackouts and my truck won't start.
@@jamesswann9421 yes , it was the battery disconnect solenoid located in the battery box. As soon as they by passed that, the truck started no problems.
Rocky Mountain Peterbilt's think I may need new batteries it cranks but won't turn over and the volts stay at about 12.2v occasionally will go to 13.9v and manage to start but than die again on me
What happens when you keep getting that same sign and the truck won't crank
Hey beau appreciate the info! Just had it happen during my 34hr reset.

I hate that damn bell. It wakes me up all the time.

Nice feature.
Does this message come up on all model Peterbilts normally or only when something is wrong?
So, is that Normal procedure when we shut the truck off?

@@hac198582 got it, thank you for replying.
Mine reads LVD bus us unpowered.
Now the batteries keep dying.
WHAT to do?
Not sure. I'd get it to a shop. You may have a constant draw.
Did you ever find out what the issue was? I'm getting the same lvd bus message.

Same here. I figure I just have to idle for longer. Or PC for an hour around town.
Great thanks for the info
Is that only on the 567?
No. You can get that on a 389, 579, 365, 367 as well.
Note disclaimer doesn't work here in Canada -60f
I have been in -58F with a wind chill of -78F. That's cold!!!
What is the cause if it mine did that before replaced all 4 batteries bad wiring or alternator?!
That is tough to answer without a proper diagnosis.

what if you get this and the truck won't start
You will have to jump start it then or charge the batteries.

You are probably correct.
thanks for the feed back 👍
I have the same issue. 19 Peterbilt with 7k miles.
Damn 3.4 mpg
It's new. That's all idle time.
I'm not gonna lie, this video didn't help at all
This video did not help at all. Take it down and gove me my 4 minutes bsck.
