This is the first version of MIG 29 but it’s a monster , I couldn’t imagine the next version ☠️ with R73
When they add block 32 and 52 of every American plane lol
I doubt they will ever add them on a fighter . Possibly the su 39 but not a mig with its high off bore sight capabilities, and it’s a guaranteed hit it’s almost impossible to fool with flares and it wouldn’t have a place in wt

The R-73 are in the files and they where in the dev server, but people complained to much about them so they never made it to the live server. Now that China got the Python 3 the R-73 will soon come back hopefully

the f14's wing snapped at 1.58 mach and the mig's wing snapped at 1.54
in game it showed F14 went to about Mach 2.10 and Mig reached 2.3 in replay mode it was bugged and also u can see speed too

@@whenlizardsflyno the f14b was limited irl and in game to only Mach 2.05, I could go onto saying why but ion feel like it, the f14a was able to reach Mach 2.34 but the f14b had a limiter on it
@@brodykloster2102 just cause it was restricted for normal operational use does not mean it couldn’t reach speeds meeting or exceeding that of the mig

One thing I saw that was wrong was the F14 pilot in the dogfight but he didn’t use the wing sweep effectively, and just kept it at full may you have a good turn rate but that drag will kill you in battle you want to try and effectively use the wing sweep using no sweep at the start of a 2 circle fight is just dumb, your gonna bleed all your speed in one turn at the start of a 2 circle fight. keep your sweep at 45-55% you’ll bleed less speed then your opponent in the merge and as you get slower bring the sweep out more and more to get more airspeed you what to maximize your turn rate to your speed while decreasing drag and what i mean by that here is a example to help. say your entering a merge at Mach 1 but you can only bring your wings out 55% before they rip off thats maximizing your turn rate to your speed while decreasing drag but say you could bring them all the way out you’ll get your opponents tail but you’ll have no speed left because you didn’t maximize turn rate to your speed you also increased drag to full. effectively using the wing sweep most people can’t do well it takes patience and time but when used efficiently you’ll beat any normal to ok MIG 29 player in a normal match if you get to dog fight without being 3rd partied. I have 1658 hours in the F14A (I’m using the B now there both rather the same but for engine output and that just means using the sweep and taking the wings out slower) it’s a fun jet and my great grandfather flew it so I have special ties to the aircraft by heart I grew up loving it if you can learn to use the wing sweep effectively and play a fight well you’ll see you killing about every normal player in a match. (in a dogfight this is top tier after all using your radar and missiles effectively is different then a dogfight)
Edit: I’m not triggered by the dogfight part I just meant to put out there that in that part the wing sweep was used very poorly and lead to a early death.

I'd like to point out that the f 14 is a naval jet fighter/multirole and the mig 29 is a ground jet fighter

@@AverageImpThis is disingenuous. Especially since, if anything, that puts the Tomcat at a disadvantage since it is required to be built more heavily to survive carrier ops. Comparing a fighter and an interceptor is not unfair, especially when the interceptor is also a very strong dogfighter - the Tomcat only became a bomb truck once its original role as a fleet defender against soviet bombers was no longer a concern.

@@arjunsarkarttf you mean? F16 is literally the best dog fighter in the game you have a legit skill issue if youre suffering. First drop the shit ass adf and use the block 10. Lighter, no g limiter and an insane turn rate if you keep it at 700-750 kmh and you can dump that fast if needed for a huge aoa down to 500kmh. Mig 29s or block 15 model f16s dont stand a chance the 6 9Ls are great too since its super easy to get on an enemys 6. The 27er is easy to dodge if you use 1 brain cell and remember radar missiles dont like tracking near the ground

@@daanoffline5716 At high AOA, yes, though that wouldn’t really impact rate fight performance. The TF-30 was always a stopgap since the F-110 wasn’t ready when the F-14 went into production - the B models had the engines it was MEANT to have from the beginning.

If you use the F-14B properly at low speeds you can kinda just glide behind the MiG-29 when using landing flaps, don’t use takeoff flaps until you get above 550 kmh (250-300 knots)

Although the AIM-9L is good. I would’ve given the point to both. The 9L only has range over the 60m. All missiles other than the magic 2 can pretty easily be flared off. And the r60m starts pulling harder faster than the 9L.

Their top speeds aren’t when the wings snap in a dive, they can get to Mach 2.2+ when their at 40-50 thousand feet
in the game F14 got to MAch 2.10 Max and Mig29 went to Mach 2.4 Max in the dive but replay mode was bugged

the F14 is better in BVR and in missiles, however at close range the mig29 is vastly superior in the dogfight and with its missiles well optimized for dogfights
F14s can absolutely smoke stuff especially in 2 circles but also with some planes in a one circle, with landing flaps and full wing sweep that thing can pull some massive AoA
@Funcrafter01 you see, this comment was made a YEAR ago. Of course NOW the F14 can hold its own given a very skilled pilot, but back then when the F16 and especially the mig29 wasn't so Damm gimped the F14 couldn't do anything. Rate fights, 1 circle fights, neither would hold up vs a skilled mig29 pilot.
In current day the F14 can dance alright. but it takes a very skilled pilot to be able to match most 4th gens in a dogfight as the F14 is very sensitive and easy to throw off its flow.

Americans spend more money on the game therefor they have all the best stuff. Play one of the minor nations and anything that they share with the American tech tree is 10x better than the crap you normally get. It’s bias and ridiculous AF.

What about the R-27T 👀 on the Mig-29, that’s an excellent IR missile, much better than an R-60M and definitely better than an AIM-9L.

I feel the dogfight one was a bad example because the tomcat got its nose on the mig 29 but missed also the f-14 is not a multirole aircraft
It is F14B is a multirole aircraft designed for both air and ground combat
The f14 goes mach 2.34 but mig 29 does mach 2.20 so the tomcat is faster
I think the dogfight shouldn’t count to much because the MiG-29 would have been dead because he didn’t cut his afterburner and truly dogfights come to the pilots skill with their aircraft and not truly the aircraft itself

Im so sorry that you don't mention realities and just compare by the GAME warthunder. I am a player, but what is obvious is that Tomcat was an intercepter fighter with waaaaay better armament that falcrum.
Right now, in my home country, 55 year old Tomcats work better than our 29's.
