- How to make a rich, chocolate and peanut butter treat for your whole family.
Ingredients;
1. 6 cups-Special K Cereal.
2. 1 3/4 cups-Peanut Butter.
3. 1 cup-Granulated Sugar.
4. 1 cup-Lite Corn Syrup.
5. 1 1/2 cups-Butterscotch Morsels.
6. 1 1/2 cups-Semi-Sweet Morsels.
7. Flaked Sea Salt.

Called Scotch-a-Roos in Iowa. I always had the "fixings" in the pantry when boys were in school, so quick to make when friends came by or the team needed treats. A variation we love is substitute the white corn syrup with Log Cabin maple syrup I have some gluten free friends so use rice Chex or we also like a combo of gluten free Rice Krispies and corn flakes. My topping recipe includes both flavors of chips like yours along with 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 Hershey bars. I find that using bars of semi sweet chocolate like Bakers or Ghirardelli melt much better 😊 I love the addition of sea salt on top, I've been doing that on chocolate chip cookies too. Wow Glo, this is the recipe you were talking about. This is almost the same as one I did over a year ago. You can check it under my desserts. It’s called “ chocolate scotcharoos “. It’s been a family favorite since I was a child. Mine is made with Rice Krispies instead of special k, but much more similar than the recent one I did because it has butterscotch chips mixed with chocolate chips too 👍👍
