Squares, Peanut Butter (Quick & Easy with no oven time)

  • This is another one of our Family recipes; we have been making it mostly at Christmas time since 2001. Our sons loved everything Chocolate and Peanut Butter so we are pleased to share this with you. It is quick and easy with no oven bake time. We hope you try this one and let us know how your family likes it.
    Squares, Peanut Butter
    (Excellent Recipe made since 2001)
    Base Ingredients
    ¼ cup margarine
    1 cup peanut butter, light
    1 cup icing sugar
    1 tsp pure vanilla
    3 ¼ cups Special K cereal or Rice Krispies
    Topping ingredients
    2 tbsp. margarine
    1 cup chocolate chips
    Instructions
    Base:
    Melt margarine in large pot at medium-low heat. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter, icing sugar, vanilla and Special K mixing well. Stir until everything is completely coated and then press firmly into an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 square pan.
    Topping:
    Melt 2 tbsp. margarine at medium heat and add 1 cup chocolate chips. Turn off heat and mix well. Spread over top of cooled peanut butter base. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Cut into squares.
    This is so good and so easy so enjoy

    Im from England and i will definately be trying this for my kids x what do u think mixing tge peanut butter with digestive biscuits (ud have graham crackers) instead of rice crispies and then doing a layer of caramel maybe add peanuts if u want in to the caramel an then doing chocolate topping? Or keeping the rice crispies an just adding layer of caramel then choc topping? What do u guys think? Would u try it? X

      @@angelkisses5933 ooohhhh I like that idea. Why not, watch the consistency as you add them. Too much might make it dry. Start with 2 3/4 cups first. Can you let us know how it comes out. Love to hear about it.

      Ah I haven’t tried them with an alternative nut butter if you like those. Bet you’d like the snowballs tho.

      @@BrakesBake OK I have had snowballs before my niece made him a long time ago. I’m talking 10 years or more.

      @@mikemckinley1031 They are super easy, better if you have gloves for the rolling. They are addictive though if you like chocolate, lol
