👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Like Chris Said: Kudos to you Omar! I think you did a great job and I actually like the redesign. It has kept the Lion but it’s taken into the newer times. I think this is great! Also so cool that you share how you do some of your “magic” with the mockups! Thanks for this everyone! Love this channel! 🙏🏾👌🏾
Omar you are an amazing designer!!! The futur is doing a great job giving platform to such designers and breaking all such barriers. This is how we all are going to reach the 1 billion mark - WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. Love you guys!
Omar show evolution from his first apearence in the channel, going better in English and process. Keep going Omar! Thank you Chris for showcase young and talented designers.
Kudos to Omar for putting all this effort to teach us his amazing skills! This young man tried so hard to speak in English just for us and to benefit us all, I learned skills dreamed of learning in youtube. Well done Omar, bravooo 👏👏 P.s. for the fucking haters: this young man taught me new skills and ideas and increased my knoledge to benefit me with his broken English. what have you done in your good English other than spreading hate??? I am sure he went through alot in his life as a refugee from Iraq to Turkey. Respect to Omar and God bless you.
Omar did an excellent job showing his process and sharing resources. I typically watch content from the business side, but I happened to catch this one and was blown away with how much I got out of it. Great information as usual!
I'm the creator of Logo Lab, and I'm really happy to see it being used out in the wild! I also have a RUclips design channel where I create graphic design pieces from scratch, if anyone is interested in some more free learning 😄
Standing applause for Omar. I probably not gonna have that much confidence l. Yet he still go for it. I don't even mind your lack of english. The study, research and your dedication already sold me off
If there is one thing I've to do in this life,is to thank the future for this content, which changed my perspective to design Completely. Thank you chris and your great team, all the love❤
the logolab website was made by a youtuber who just started a few months ago with realllyy great design process videos, thought you might want to check him out, his channel is Brandon Shepherd
A1 A2 B1 B2 B3 B4 C1 C2 C3 😂 that’s some expert naming. A tat bit complicated, but thorough, honest and pretty awesome. Cool to see the whole procest, for real
I think brand equity is an important factor we didnt really get into that much. Im from the Netherlands and when I think of ING I always picture that full lion body with those colours, obviously only picking the orange was the right choice because the two colours really werent compatible but I wouldve loved it if Omar worked from the full body or at least keep the manes. When a dutch logo really shows off its origins traditions and culture we see a lot of that same orange and the lion so this logo becomes less distinguishable. Nonetheless the logo is great clean and modern, this is just some constructive criticism and I think we are all here to learn, appreciate design and love to share opinions😊
Fabio, I agree. I’m from the Netherlands also. The original feels forced; a product of many, many mergers of Dutch banks though the decades. Omar completely sold me on the issues with the current logo. As for the redesign, I don’t see the lion in the new logo, and I would worry that Dutch customers would not be able to identify with it. I think A1 or A2 for the Dutch market would be a safer bet. It’s interesting that Canada ING completely rebranded and changed the logo. They can afford to, I think, because they don’t have the emotional attachment with the ING logo that the Dutch do. Great process though; it was very interesting to watch. And yes, it definitely can use a bit of an update!
I really loved how you focused on how to choose from many versions , I really appreciate how you struggle with english and had the confedence to part of this however it's hard for you 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻💙💙💙
Hey TF Academy, I'm curious, how did the designers in the logo re-design series get a spot on this video series? I haven't redesigned a logo yet but I'm interested in taking one on and sharing it with the community here :) Also, loved the video and great re-design Omar; the way the logo was reproduced in a regal-looking pattern was amazing.
I tend to agree with Chris about using grids like this. I trust me eye more intuitively based on years of designing and then maybe tune it at the end with a grid.
I enjoy watching the logo redesign series very much, it's both entertaining and inspiring. I was wondering though… Often more than not the logo's and visual identities that are being redesigned were originally created by renowned design agencies in the likes of VBAT, DieTwee, etc. Omar made his case why he thought this brand needed a redesign. He did have some valid points, but in general I think the existing ING branding is pretty strong to begin with. This makes it harder for me to appreciate the end result. Yes, it's a solid logo and I would have loved it if the client was a small local bank. But if I were to compare it to the original logo, I'd have to say it needs a lot more work. It's not *really* an improvement as it is. I fully realise that the time and effort that has been put in this redesign is limited, but wouldn't it be a better idea to choose a logo or brand that has obvious and major flaws?
Language is so important, isn’t it? I am sure Omar can explain his process rather eloquently in Turkish. When English or any other language is not your native language, you get very nervous. My language of thought changed from my mother tongue to English ages ago, yet whenever I am talking to someone whose native language is English, I just get this massive lump in my throat and my understanding of grammar goes right out the window.
Very cool end result and stream. Perhaps some day I'll feature in The Futur too, and if I do I imagine that my daughter will interrupt the video like she likes to do whenever I have an important call, so, kudos for the presentation! That said, I'd like to see a bit more of analysis on the end result. I think that the type did not worked quite alright with the symbol, but regardless it worked better than the current logo they have. I was «rooting» for C3 too, A1 to me also looks me a bit unbalanced (right side of the lions fur, or left side of the lion itself), it seems a bit «fat» on the right, just that. The rest seems ok. Still regarding type, the kerning, for me, requires a bit more work. Due to the fact that the «G» is rounded on the left, gives the negative space some odd feeling next to the «N». That's a problem also on the original logo. Perhaps a «squared» font would solve that, but again, that might not work for the identified problems on the current logo. Overall, very good job, specially the research, etc., very, very nice! Congrats, Omar, and, of course, The Futur for having this weekly episodes! Cheers from Portugal!
to be honest the new logo lost the hole identity of the brand, im from the Netherlands and this new logo doesn't remind me for what kind of brand it is.
hey guys @the futur, please show some respect here, don't like the way you mock of Omar pronunciation, you need to think in the example you are giving to your users...like 4 real GROW UP!
why is he reading word for word/verbatim? that makes for poor audience engagement... as if he's trying to sell me shit. so weird to have definitions at beginning of preso. I've never done it, my coworkers, seniors, ADs, CDs, dir. of design, freelance and interns have never done it...it's just so weird and condescending! Another BORING personality. such a bore, such a bummer :( he was Wrong at 10:07. IMG orange and dark blue work great! it's the background they were on. (glass it was hard to see the lion, and on signage it was hard to see the ING. you can use secondary colors with white for lion on glass, and white for ING on signage). INT has strong brand equity, that the lion mark is fine for 10:36, lion inflatable is fine for a fun festive event (apparently Omar knows nothing about having fun). This was a bad case study and research. mindmap on 21:30 is supposed to be 1-3 words mostly 1 word, not a sentence. 24:31 sketches should be quick thunbnails, not detailed roughs, 4 days sketching is WASTING time just to get an idea on paper. he would get fired if he was in a work environment. YOU DON'T NEED a golden ratio for every logo 30:00. jeez, there was such a huge communication problem going on, or was Omar not listening? I like A1 out of all of them, A2 next, but everything seems to lose brand equity. 55:43 it's weird to go from center aligned on business card to left aligned for collateral. The luxury pattern is too luxurious which is a departure from banking/finance. it seems hi-end fashion.
Hi Waleed, you have to give him credit though for being a good designer and producing solid presentations even though his English is not perfect! Which is very hard to do given that almost all of the resources are in English. Designers should support each other dear, he has great potentials and learning English is the least of his problems 🙏🏻💜 #designcommunity

Are new episodes of Logo Critique planned for the futur?
where we critique other people's logos?
@@TheFuturAcademy That's the one. Where Chris often made an effort to tweak the logos and pointed out flaws.

to be honest the new logo lost the hole identity of the brand, im from the Netherlands and this new logo doesn't remind me for what kind of brand it is.
