    • @PBKreviews

      Make sure the earpiece and midplate are seated properly in place. Because the contacts on the back of the earpiece speaker need to touch and make a connection with the gold contacts on the flex cable which is on the frame underneath it.

    Would you, please, give me advice, i`m going to replace display module to the original one which is pre-glued, so, do i have to use adhesive or glue such as B5000/7000, or it`s not necessary if the frame of the original LCD is already pre-glued ?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 лет назад

      well its best to always get a complete screen assembly that is already attached to the touch glass panel. Aside from that, if the assembly doesn't come with pre installed adhesive, would be best to use adhesive tape instead of those glues. You can use either smartphone red tape or 300LSE adhesive tape amzn.to/2FPskki

    Hi @PBKReviews, have you heard the touch screen issue about this phone? A lot of us experience an issue with this phone after the last software update patch, I am not sure anymore if I need to have this phone open or just go to the repair store and have them check it, my problem is that the phone was purchased from Taiwan and I am from Manila Ph 😭 any idea if a software update can fix the issue? I did the software repair but it's the same thing.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 лет назад

      Hi, I have not herd anything about that, but if a software update caused the issue, then it would not be a hardware issue and would not need to open the phone. I would wait till a newer update patch comes out to update software or see if you can flash the old software on there but usually going backwards in software would require the phone to be bootloader unlocked and so forth.

    What to do? After peeling off, the charger cable does not stick to the end, the tip peels off on its own

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад +1

      Its ok for the cable not to be firmly attached to the housing. The charger port itself seats into the housing opening for the charger port and later when you screw the midplate back in place, it holds the charger port in place and when you put the battery back in, it would hold down the cable for it as well.

    I dropped my xperia 10 (not plus) and the volume down button has been depressed/stopped working. It now is stuck in safe mode. Will I have to repair this? (the volume up button works fine but the down is just jammed but doesn't turn my phone actually down)

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 года назад +1

      Ya you would need to take apart the phone and unscrew the backplate holding the buttons in the frame to see if it fell out of position and re position it in its place and reassemble. If the frame is damaged causing a dent that's depressing the button then you would need to try and unbend it or shave some off around the button to be able to have the button seat properly. Either way the button being pressed down will yes put the phone into recovery mode etc with power button .

    Hello, I reassembled the phone and the speaker does not work after. Do you have an idea of what I might have done wrong with the reassembly?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 лет назад +1

      Hi, if your referring to the loud speaker, make sure the bottom small board is seated correctly in place and screwed down properly since it has gold contact points which make a connection to the loud speaker to give it power/signal. Also make sure the cables are connected and not loose.

    • @RSanchez111
      @RSanchez111 5 лет назад

      @@PBKreviews thank you so much for your reply! I tried reseating the bottom small board and still cannot get the speaker to work. Maybe if I explain the full issue, you can help me with that too.
      I originally disassembled the phone to replace the charging port and ribbon because the phone stopped charging. After ruling out cable/charger issues, I thought the charging port may be the problem because it seemed a little loose. The speaker still worked, though. But, after I disassembled the phone, replaced the charging port and ribbon and reassembled it, then the speaker stopped working and the phone still does not charge. I'm afraid I may have broken the bottom small board, or maybe I just still cannot get it seated properly, I am not sure.
      If you have any insight you could share on what else I could try to get the phone to work properly again, I would very much appreciate it! Thanks again for the tip and for the great video!

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 лет назад +1

      @@RSanchez111 Ya not too sure. Make sure you didn't break any of the resistors on that small board or bend any of the gold pins. Since two of the gold pins make contact with the 2 gold spots on the flex cable that leads to the loud speaker.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 года назад

      sorry to hear it got messed up. Ya usually best not to pry a screen off if its not already broken, or if you don't absolutely have to since there is always a risk of the screen getting damaged. Would have been better if this phone was designed to be disassembled from the back instead of the front to eliminate that risk.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 лет назад +1

      @@TechNomadUK1 I didn't notice any coating but where the metal shields are on the main board, the holes were covered with something white in color underneath, as well as the adhesive around the connectors. The screens adhesive didn't really seem too strong and water resistant to me but the connector ones usually I don't see on many phones so that's a good sign of them trying to keep it somewhat dust and water resistant even though its not really advertised as a water resistant phone. I don't have any water resistant adhesive to reinstall at the moment to seal the screen back on to test that, so I'm sure it would probably ruin the phone so no point in doing it.

      @@PBKreviews My main worry is the everyday use. If i use the phone in light rain or i accidentally threw it in the sink (say for 1-2 seconds) with the water entering all those tiny holes of the USB charging port, headphone jack, creases around the buttons, etc. ion your opinion will it not damage the internals to the point that the phone will be totally unusable?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 лет назад +1

      @@TechNomadUK1 Since they don't advertise it as water resistant and the fact it didn't have gaskets around the charger port and headphone jack etc. If it fell in the sink I would presume it would possibly cause damage. But rain should be ok unless its under it for a long period of time. But ya I don't really see this phone being water resistant like a galaxy s8 or something
