Where is the antenna situated? Mine keeps loosing connection to carrier and internet. I've tried everything and believe it must be within the phone it's self. Any suggestions please. Thanks
There are antenna lines on the plastic covers inside in addition to antenna contact points on the board which are seated on the frame to make contact with the antennas in the frame. You would need to make sure the plastic covers on the inside of the phone are screwed down properly as well as no loose or disconnected cables inside and the motherboard is also seated properly.

that lil connector is most definitely for a 5G mmwave antenna. My N976V has them while the other N975s don't so I'm assuming the connector would be for Verizons MMWave.
Possible but I don't think so, since the slots for the mmWave antenna are on the top left and bottom right of the frame as you can see which are empty on this phones frame, and the connector is way out of place for them to be connected to.

Its a theory but I don't think it will be for a service port. Might be those circle connectors to either side of the flex cable that has "main" written on it that is connected to the motherboard. Or the circular connector to the top right of the cameras on the main board but those can also just be test ports so not sure.

The white colored lines you see running through the top plastic cover once you remove the backplate and on the speaker plastic housing/enclosure are the cell and wifi antennas
Here is a link ( ibb.co/qy1TYNF ) the plastic piece on top and bottom circled in red both have antenna lines which are grey colored drawn onto them. Also depending on which version S10 5G you have, you might also have a high band mmWave 5G antenna on the side of the frame circled in green.
@@kamil40013 no, I don't have one nor do I know how to operate one lol, might ask my friend to test see if there is any current or voltage. I'm confused about choosing Samsung or Huawei next time. Samsung did separate charging port with the mainboard which will make it cheap to replace. Unfortunately they didn't with the other s10' still waiting for the shocking repair prices... luckily I take good care of my stuff

Sir I have a important question. My 5g front screen is cracked and I would like to repair it. But can I do Glass ONLY or does it have to be the whole screen? And at what point can I start separating the glass only from digitazer. ( I called a repair shop they charge 320 to replace the entire screen. I paid for my phone 520 by the way, touch screen works on entire screen.) thanks I'll be waiting for your reply. Awesome video.
End user can't really replace the glass by itself. You need special tools and machines to be able to take the glass off and apply a new one and make sure no dust or debris is underneath as well as making sure the touch is working accurately and in the right places. Your always best off doing a complete screen replacement anyways. No point in spending money and trying to just do the glass and render the phone useless and have to spend again to replace the entire screen. Try contacting samsung and asking them how much they would charge to replace the screen.
This board assembly is different from the original Samsung. Cause the charging port on this is modular and on the original s10 it a hold board that don't make sense Samsung is rip in people off
Going to have a go at this soon (awaiting parts) my loudspeaker sounds like static from a badly tuned radio. I got soo annoyed I slapped my phone against a wood table and shattered the back glass 😆 HULK SMASH
lol damn that sucks. Check www.mobiledefenders.com they usually have original parts for the phone if needed. Also the static can possibly be causing by metal shavings or other stuff getting attracted by the magnets to the speaker filter causing the distortion. Replacing the mesh speaker filter/grill fixes that issue if that is the case.
Hi, is there any way you could send me some HD photos of the opened up back of the S10 5G? I bought the phone recently and want to make a custom teardown skin for myself and I can't seem to find it anywhere for the life of me. Could we get in touch somehow? Really appreciate it :D
Ya I don't think it will cost $1000+ but probably the screen, 5g tech behind the phone and such will push up the price along with the 3D ToF sensors both in front and back, and the possibility of UFS 3.0 (since I didn't pry off the shields on the board to see). But again I don't see it going over 1K but I could be wrong
this phone looks really easy to open it 😬 or you make this easy any way just a suggestion you need to use a Gloves to Get rid of fingerprints thanks for video
Wth, the 5g models is more repairable than the regular one 🤣🤣. Really hate it since the port is not soldered on on this 5g models. I've got experience from s2 n s4 that the charging port won't work after 4-5 years. So, I've got to get a new device in the fourth or fifth years of using the regular ones. So sad

@@youssefbounou6127 lol. Its not that sensitive. I've used metal tools on phones with batteries connected a lot back in the day and never had any issues. So we will have to wait and see :) I will try and get my hands on other versions and see if I can solve the mystery
@@PBKreviews I was thinking that they left it open because they can program the device even in almost completely assembled state. Especially since the antenna as on that plastic casing. Anyways, let us wait and find out. Great effort from your side.
Samsung pulled an Apple leaving the TOF sensor for the 5G device.
Yea they should have given to the S10 plus because the 10 plus was already same camera as normal s10
Where are the cell and wifi antennas on the s10 5G
The white colored lines you see running through the top plastic cover once you remove the backplate and on the speaker plastic housing/enclosure are the cell and wifi antennas

Here is a link ( ibb.co/qy1TYNF ) the plastic piece on top and bottom circled in red both have antenna lines which are grey colored drawn onto them. Also depending on which version S10 5G you have, you might also have a high band mmWave 5G antenna on the side of the frame circled in green.
Good 👍
What this connector is for ?
not sure yet, possibly a light up logo back plate for another carrier/version or something else.
@@PBKreviews that will be cool. Did you measured it with multimeter if there is any voltage?
@@kamil40013 no, I don't have one nor do I know how to operate one lol, might ask my friend to test see if there is any current or voltage. It might also be a connector for a 5G booster for a certain carrier. I remember way back in the day motorola did something similar for verizon if I am not mistaken on the droid maxx where they used a spectrum/band booster or something like that on the back of the phone to boost signal for LTE.
Great Phone with Great camera's
I'm confused about choosing Samsung or Huawei next time. Samsung did separate charging port with the mainboard which will make it cheap to replace. Unfortunately they didn't with the other s10' still waiting for the shocking repair prices... luckily I take good care of my stuff
ya its a good thing they made the charger port replaceable on the 5G model, it costs a lot for the phone and if the charger port was not replaceable... lol then I don't think many people would want to buy it
Dats d same thing i saying i dont understand y da did dat dats y am sticking with the note 9
@@costabago9188 you shouldn't be scared. I found the prices for Norway and I see it's the same prices for s10 as s9. But if you used to repair phones by yourself and save money then you are screwed.
DON'T GET HUAWEI
That mystery connector is to light up the 5G logo on the back of the phone when you're connected to 5G.
That's what I was thinking but for which carrier? Because this one did not have any light up logo or anything connected to that connector. I was kinda thinking the sprint one in the US?
Interesting to see that the Motherboard resides in the top half unlike any other S and Note series phone, maybe Note10 will be like this too.
And it's nice to see that the USB-C port and board is modular, people were complaining about it not being modular on the S10.
@@jeppewerring Yea its a good thing since its so expensive, if the port was not replaceable, people would not want to spend so much money on a un-repairable phone
@@PBKreviewslook is the 5g & galaxy fold ever gon have a micro sd card cuz I ain't paying my $
@@MrJflow21 different variants may have it. Where would you put an SD card in the S10 5G?
The S10 5G doesn't have an expandable storage slot, so you would not be able to add an SD card unfortunately.
@@PBKreviews thank you sir for responding. With your help, I know what to do now. Thank you.

This board assembly is different from the original Samsung. Cause the charging port on this is modular and on the original s10 it a hold board that don't make sense Samsung is rip in people off
If you can afford an S10 then I'm sure you can afford to repair it for a bit more than usual. Stop crying and take care of your device.
Hi, is there any way you could send me some HD photos of the opened up back of the S10 5G?

what do you mean
when watching at all the components, no way in hell this costs $1000+
Ya I don't think it will cost $1000+ but probably the screen, 5g tech behind the phone and such will push up the price along with the 3D ToF sensors both in front and back, and the possibility of UFS 3.0 (since I didn't pry off the shields on the board to see). But again I don't see it going over 1K but I could be wrong

Can the phone still work without the wireless charging pad? I am planning to remove it.
Yeah it should still work.
removing the adhesive under the battery seems to be the most difficult part? anyone tried this?
The battery capacity of the Galaxy s10 5g is 4500mah, but in reality the capacity is 4400mah.
Yea they always advertise it in best case scenario it will be 4500mAh but in real average cases will operate at 4400mAh.
It does say "Typical capacity" lol
Wth, the 5g models is more repairable than the regular one 🤣🤣. Really hate it since the port is not soldered on on this 5g models. I've got experience from s2 n s4 that the charging port won't work after 4-5 years. So, I've got to get a new device in the fourth or fifth years of using the regular ones. So sad
Yea they should make all charger ports replaceable, its a common piece that wears out and not everyone using wireless charging or carries a wireless charging pad around with them
Who keeps a phone that long anyways
I didn't see any of the red or white wires that are usually in the phones
Ya not every phone has those wires some boards have the circuits drawn onto the board itself which is the cleanest way in my opinion

Duuude unplug the battery first before touching anything with a metal screwdriver, needless to remind you of the C4 fiasco with the S7
Well you need to first remove the cover that's covering the connector for the battery in order to unplug it lol which we did.

@@youssefbounou6127 lol. Its not that sensitive. I've used metal tools on phones with batteries connected a lot back in the day and never had any issues. The possibility is there if you happen to touch and make a connection between to chips or circuits to spark and damage it but as far as exploding I don't see that happening unless you are actually shorting the battery connector head or piercing the battery itself with a metal object.

Do you have an idea how much is S10 5G motherboard? Is it more reasonable to buy a new phone? lol
You would probably need to find a S10 5G with a broken screen which someone is selling online for parts to be able to take the main board out. Or if someone parted their phone. Not sure what either would run, I'm sure price would vary from seller to seller.
