    The S10 series has to be one of the best designed Samsung phones ever made!
    The design is timeless

    • @Knaeckebrotsaege
      @Knaeckebrotsaege Год назад +1

      Too bad the battery life sucks balls (even compared to the S9 before it) and if you manage to damage the display in any way, it's a total financial loss (cause a replacement display costs the same or more than a fully functional used S10)

    • @ASPEDBUSDRIVER1
      @ASPEDBUSDRIVER1 Год назад +1

      I hope you break the charge port on your S10 and when you realize it can't be replaced, you take back what you said!

    • @potatocubes69
      @potatocubes69 Год назад +1

      @ASPEDBUSDRIVER1 I mean.. I'm using the S23 now why bother hoping for something bad.. I was talking about the design not the internals... spec wise battery life sucks, it gets hot doing some work.. type c port can be replaced but requires you to solder a new one in

    • @ASPEDBUSDRIVER1
      @ASPEDBUSDRIVER1 Год назад

      @@potatocubes69 I'm just messing with you. But seriously, I've repaired hundreds of Samsung Galaxy S and Notes, everything from the S8s to the 22s. Samsung has designed some gems over the years but I can say with certainty, the S10 definitely isn't one of them. Do me a favor: take a look at your S23. You see the Sim tray? Notice it's in tbh charge port? Why do you think the sim tray is in your charge port now? Surely it's not to make room for the bigger battery you're raving about on the thing. The reason your sim tray is in chargeport is because Samsung learned from the S10s how retarded it was for them to design charged ports to be soldered on the irreplaceable motherboards. So they smartened up and said "charge ports and sim trays see a lot of physical contact from the users, so the sim tray is going on the chargeport now and if either breaks, the part is easily replaceable and costs $30." And you know when they started putting the sim traps on dock? Immediately following S10s on the S20/Note 20 devices. But that's actually how bad the S10s were. Paying $1k for a smartphone today is tolerable. Poor battery life is tolerable. OEM screen replacements coating users $300 is also tolerable. But telling your customers the charge port isn't replaceable because of the way its designed/soldered to the main logic board is just unacceptable and trash engineering. Let's say on your personal car, the fuel cover door for the gas tank breaks. You can't drive your car. It won't power on. You go to the dealership and they tell you, "sorry sir, it's not replaceable, you'll have to buy a new car." Would you be saying that car is on of their better vehicles designs compared to every other model from the sand manufacture that isn't designed that way?

    Sold my S10 a year ago but still remember it fondly being one if not the most beautiful phone ever. A real delicate body, thin, curved edges, not so heavy but still feeling premium, best display aspect ratio ever and SD card slot and till today latest Samsung software (OneUI 4.1 arriving).

    I did the same, decided to repair a Samsung S10+ with broken screen seemed like a good ebay deal. I've succesfully repaired two other smartphones before in my life (and LG and a Nokia) . Almost instantly the back cover broke like a thin sheet of ice even though I warmed it with a hairdryer. It is glass and those shards are mighty sharp! One harpooned into my thumb. I thought it was the fact I was impatient and with a lack of cards, I used the spudgers which came with a mobile repair kit but it seems even with cards the back glass cover is likely to break. (Why did Samsung decide to make it out of glass??)Fortunately I got a replacement cover for about £9. As this video brilliantly shows there are a number of other hazards after you manage to get the back cover off. I'll proceed with caution once the replacement cover arrives.. thank you

    • @RestoreTechnique
      @RestoreTechnique  Год назад +1

      Damn that sucks. I remember when I repaired my first S7, and the back glass just broke so easily, yeah like a thin sheet of ice. Never had any glass back break like that before. I feel like it may have had a micro fracture in the glass somewhere that I couldn't see.
      Don't think I've broken a back glass since, but it still haunts me, and I think about that S7 glass almost every time I remove back glass panels 🙈

      @Dom are you sure? To flash successfully phone has to accept the new load, i.e. the flash receiving program, which of course is also by Samsung. I believe to remember that at least with some phones this Samsung receiving program knows about the lock and prevents reflashing regardless whether it's stock or custom rom.

      @@RestoreTechnique see YT video "d9mNocO4K2Q". Involves enabling talkback during the setup wizard, using that to launch google assistant, using that to launch youtube, using the YT settings to read the terms of service (just kidding, that opens chrome), using a website link to open samsung store and install "alliance shield" which can be granted administrator permissions and can then wipe all app data of the setup wizard and google play, which will then let the setup wizard continue/finish as normal. Yes, very lengthy process, but I'd take that over having to buy a new board
      edit: at the end you can log into your google acc via settings as normal, then do a factory reset and it'll then let you continue during the setup wizard cause you know your acc (obviously)

      I'm not a big Apple fan myself, but the iphone content is definitely more popular. I will aim to do some more android devices.
      I don't do laptops generally because there's way more broken phones around, due to how much they get dropped and abused.

    maybe the seller of the locked one had sensible personal data on the phone, didn't think you've already reset and that were trying to snoop into it, so did not give you the pass. hahaha
    edit: love your work, thanks and keep it up! 💛

      Or maybe he was just a thief... I had my phone stole once, and the thief called my house (it was pre-smarthphone era, so security wasn't that great, he got the number from the phone), saying that he could only use it sometimes, when the lockscreen didn't work. He had the audacity to call and ask for the code. I just laughed and hanged up.

    Yea, especially if you can get a used S20 in good conditions for about equivalent $250-$300 (and i am not from US). Although that means it would feature crappy Exynos instead of S865 because back in the day the snapdragon variant was US exclusive.

    You can use the old board by simple, flashing the stock rom by using software application "Odin" it's for Samsung device. And then bypass it by using frp hacker. After that You can use it as good as new.

    There are workarounds to bypass the verification lock.
    Takes time to figure out.
    Android phones keep the lock in the phone's internal storage where Apple hosts it in the cloud.
    That's why workarounds works for Android. Not in apple

    Protip next time instead of buying a new motherboard you could've searched online how to remove the FRP lock or paid someone to do it for cheap. I bought a HUGE android phone lot and over 20 phones are FRP locked (i was aware that many would be lol) I just ordered an Octoplus USB stick to remove the FRP locks i'm waiting for them to come through the mail 😁
