You’re incredible at what you do Rich, thanks for having me on ❤
I've been with Rich since he had 1000 subscribers and you're right.
Takes one to know one!!! 😂❤
I loved this!!
Can't wait for longtime to see your episodes please 🙏❤
You are both incredible Steven!
One of the most genuine, honest, vulnerable, engaging conversations ever. I have a tremendous amount of respect towards both of you. Thank you! Excellent work.
Well said and I completely agree 🌱
The questioning & persistent pressuring on what to change & what to resume by the host Rich Roll to his Guest Diary of a CEO vhost Stephen Bartlett was interesting & I heartily agree with adding back that opening.
However, I wondered IF the guest requested that evaluation & if it was meant to be reciprocated by the Host as both the innovated Young & the more experienced & hopefully wiser Older have much to learn from each other in this ever dramatically changing world. if the former the guest's repliesc seemed wonderfully candid, open & humbly vulnerable & appreciated.
If the latter, the few questions asked of the host were met with indirect & evasive replies which were accepted without the persistence usually exhibited by Stephen Bartlett with his inquisitive mind on his own enjoyable Diary of a CEO.
Though it was exceedingly long, it was thoroughly enjoyable, telling, & enlightening.on both sides.
Respectfully,
A Great Fan of Both Hosts😢
Y 57:17 y❤😅 c
That felt like Rich was having a conversation with his younger self. I felt the respect & warmth from both sides ❤
P
erm, seem like utterly differnt personality types
Oh my gosh!! My two favorite hosts UNITE!! Pinch me!! YAY!!!
I'd love to see Steven return 3 years from now to answer those same questions again, for comparison...really interesting and open discussion, always appreciated.
Regarding Rich's push for solo podcasts and reminding Steven that his show IS called "Diary of a CEO", I have always taken Steven's podcasts as the Dairies of Many CEOs with him exposing us to many interesting people and varied subjects. Having said that, I would enjoy listening to Steven singularly but sporadically because I tire of podcasts where only the host is spouting their topics, ideals, etc.
I admire this guy. He is remembering us that the most important thing is to know how we feel in a certain environment and just quit when we don’t feel good. This guy is a master.
Rich Roll podcast is elite, always has been, always will be. I enjoy how you're challenging people in a kind manner
Bartlett does that too in ways i've never seen before. Btw this is first Rich Roll i've seen
Failure leads to feedback, feedback is knowledge and the knowledge is power.
Steven bartlett love this quote
I am a long-time listener. As often happens, I somehow miss even knowing of these superstars until Rich brings them on. Then I love them, follow them, read their books, etc. More importantly, I've applied enough little pieces from enough of these guests (and Rich), that it has slowly made me a better version of myself. Thank you, Rich and Steven.
Agreed wholeheartedly.
Thanks for summing it up!!!
All you want to do is hang out with them at the table. Such great men and role models of how men should conduct themselves. The genuine respect for each other and shared humour really draws you in. Thanks Rich
this episode definitely needs a part two🙏
Connection over perfection. Thanks once again for delivering another great podcast.
My conversations with my late father were exactly the same. Him speaking, me listening. When he was done, I always waited for the "and how are you and what's happening in your life....." I started believing I was not important enough...
Same with my mom. I find it very challenging, always makes me feel so unloved.
Same. I grew up being told what not to do when I questioned everything. To this day I get the silent treatment from my 72 year old mother who always seemed put off by my ambitions telling me, “You don’t have to be doing something all the time.”
My two favorite men in one podcast, I love Mondays!
Deeply touched, moved, inspired! This episode was WOW - hung on to your every words. What a beautiful, honest, vulnerable, captivating conversation! I didn't know of Steven before and can't wait to learn more and listen to his book. He is so engaging and pure!
Rich - you are truly incredible at your craft and an amazing human! I am a fan, listener for over a year and your podcast has totally transformed my life. I can't thank you and your staff enough for putting out such meaningful content! What a gift you are to the world and I speak of you and share your podcast to everyone that will listen. Endless deep gratitude to you! ♥
Rich found Julie, Steven found Melanie. Intellectual rigour meets full-on spirituality. All bases covered. Loving your work.
59:05 LOVE the push back on why Steven doesn’t do solo episodes. Is it more so of a deflection? Asking questions that create vulnerability in guests vs having to be vulnerable yourself.
Congrats to Rich on 1 million subscribers!! Well deserved! Excellent podcast!!
People like Rich and Steven enrich our lives in so many ways. I thank you both for being so positive and lifting up humanity in a world that is increasingly difficult to live in sometimes. It's enlightening knowing that there are people who are intelligent thinkers and still honest and willing to share their truth. God Bless You always and I'm always praying for you both and your success and happiness❣️always enjoy the content on both of your podcasts🫶
It’s sad when your childhood is robbed from you- I like this podcast it’s done with respect; kindness and it turned into a great conversation
Steven is a young man who is mature beyond his years. I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation.
Rich, your last interview should be with Julie, since she was your first. Just my opinion. 🙂
The best podcast episode I have ever watched!! I love this back and fourth dialogue without embarrassment or anger for disagreeing !! Powerful!!! Thought provoking !!
The world needs more guys like them ❤

It was so nice to hear about ur early life…you r incredible and brave …we are always here to hear what you have to say..❤ it was great to see Steve being interviewed
“I’m so good at quitting…”
Powerful ‼️💪
Love the sentiment spoken about this
Using
“How you feel” as your GPS
Felt like a conversation with a younger brother that he feels incredible warmth for...Lotta comfort and warmth both ways that are fundamentals for a vulnerable convo
I love your discussion about life. As a woman, i appreciate and enjoy hearing two men willing to have a discussion without the need to talk on subjects of power and ego.
Life is too short to hang around where it isn't good. Thank you.
❤Love your authenticity Rich and every show 🎉
Whoa!!! This one is super special. I already watched the DOAC podcast with a guest 'Rich Roll' and now Steven as a guest in here. Just perfect!!!!
I have been following Steven for sometime from his first video . I'm in my 60s but when he shares ,I find it useful
Thank you both ❤
What a delightful conversation with the two most 'heart-centered' podcasts hosts on RUclips! I love you both and I so cherish your beautiful hearts!
I love this conversation, so honest and authentic . . . 'how can you bridge this gap with your Mum', 'I think I've over stretched myself', I love how Rich keeps calling him out too 😂, not letting him get off with anything . . . . 'and how is your ego playing into this Steven'
ahhh two of my favourite podcasters coming together was a real treat. And you seem to connect so well, it was a pleasure to listen to this authentic and engaging conversation from start to finish. Thanks guys!
Great convo
So fucking real..cutting through all the shit
I only recently became aware of Diary of a CEO because I watched Rich Roll as a guest!
This was the smoothest 2 hours and some change that i have cruised through. I always love listening to Steve.
Vulnerability is the greatest magnet. I love that.
Some favourite parts:
Success being measured in progress, rather than results. Being in a state of movement and direction, rather than just hitting benchmarks. But to keep moving and evolving. What do people not look at or care about, hone in on differences that you are drawn to and push it further.
-
Don’t rob people from their divine moment, don’t disrupt the process for someone, support and listen. ‘I believe you’ll find a solution and I’m here for you’. Let go of trying to solve peoples problems, let them reach out to find their own solution, whilst loving and accepting their process.
A really well-rounded discussion, the part on downward spiral and upward spiral with in work and then relationships to parents, really hit home. I've not listened to Steven Bartlett before but his mindset is infectious.
yep, Bartlett is incredible i've spent a couple days total in hours, on his vid's. gold mines. First one for me w/ Rich Roll
Steven, I am so sorry to hear about you and your mom not having a closer relationship considering how hard her life has been do whatever you can to give her a easier life in comfort before it’s too late .
Two of my absolute favorite people to listen to, learn from, and get lost deep in thought with. This pairing is amazing, and I simply didn't want it to end. Much respect for you both for the incredible men you are. As a mom of a young son, you are often the sound bites that I forward along to him. Thank you for what you are bringing to the table.
The show is called the Diary of a CEO 😅nice pressure point Rich
Steven❤ what a beautiful 🧠.
That fear of slowing down is okay especially at this age. Please carry on with your way until you find a different way. Carry on until your circumstances need you to show up differently. Do not change becuase someone thinks you need to add rest or relaxation or holidaying in your life.
I believe you're smart enough to have some sort of balance in place. May not be enough for others but its your life kid. I honestly think 10yrs from now you wont regret working as hard when you decide you want to slow down
This interview is so warm, so rich and just wholesome. I love every second!
finally!!! someone admits that the morning routine has become the all-day routine...when will we work and live if we meditate, write in a journal, say affirmations...?
I'm a huge fan of Steve Bartlett's podcasts. I'm new to yours Rich Roll. Mr. Roll, I love how you go there, at the risk of sounding cliche, your perspective is a beautiful (brilliant) "breath of fresh air". Thanks for sharing and for asking. 🖤
Vulnerability still feels like a threat to me on some levels. This conversation is interesting. Trauma breeds entrepreneurship. Fascinating.
Feels like Father and Son and how it should be- it’s amazing how interesting it is to dissect everything we feel and talk about it
“I just have to keep doing MYSELF justice and pride”
Perfectly said …
And it works for each of us
If we all do that the world is brilliantly colorful and diverse
Thank you both for what you do 💪
May your paths continue to drip with Gold 💗✨
I've seen a few Steven Bartlett conversations over the last few days, and THIS is genuinely the best one so far. You both come across so authentic and I loved the conversational exploration you undertook. Bravo - and Rich, I'll be diving into your back-catalogue shortly!
Two awesome gents. Thank you so much
2 of my favorite male podcasters together ! Awesome…thank you for what you both bring to the conversation table 🫶🏻
Great job! I loved seeing Steven on the other side of an interview. Though, was a little uncomfortable with the "nagging" him to sit and do nothing/meditate. I am a hypnotherapist and understand that all minds are not suited for sitting still and being quiet. I also have lead meditations and spiritual retreats/workshops. There are other types of meditation/connecting with the Divine/all knowing mind, that may better suit him. Many religious, spiritual and indigenous peoples use yoga, dance, music, chanting, nature etc to make connection. These states by running, biking and other rhythmic movement. There is even Laughter Yoga, that can help switch off the "monkey" mind. Steven said he enjoyed breath work. That may be his doorway. God is not only in churches, nor a meditation pillow.
Agreed!
Thank you for this coz yess. We are not all the same
YAY !!! I have wondered when I would see you two in conversation, as I enjoy your podcasts so much ; your guests, your ways of conversation and inquiry, as you also speak to your personal experiences with authenticity. 5 months hence, and I celebrate
LOVED this conversation- thoroughly enjoyed it! --- Congrats on your one million subscribers, Rich- well deserved! Peace from Austria.
Great informative authentic helpful interview thank you guys! 🧘🏻♀️❤️
I loved hearing Rich challenge Steven to think about meditating and get back to doing the monologues. Also, so interesting to hear how you both prep for podcasting. So intense!
Agree with Rich, there is a bit of resistance there @diary sharing as per initial episodes. Its okay to take your time and understand the discomfort then make the decision.
I believe Steven is in a form of meditation every minute of his day as he is always feeling his situation and will cancel something on the last minute if it doesn't feel right so therefore he is more aligned to his higher self on a continual basis and as life is in the present moment and he is in tune in the present moment being aware of how he is feeling, aware of being triggered and responding more than reacting..it's all in the present flow and meditation brings us back to the present flow which he is already living so I can understand why it's not a priority to put 30mins meditation in his diary..Great podcast.thank you.x
Thank you 🙏🏻 this was an eye opening well needed interview for me to hear. We all come from different backgrounds and life experiences, but there are common ways of thinking, dealing with life in general. I needed this today!!
I'm always eager to hear from someone like Steven who has a wealth of knowledge to share on self-belief, success and vulnerability. Thanks for bringing up this insightful conversation 🙌
Thank you for stirring wonder.
Great conversation By two great men!!!
A consideration for intentional healing from childhood traumatic relationship with mum would be a game changer for Steven.
Looking forward to listening to "Steve's Diary." Do it!!!
My God that was brilliant. Gratifying. It’s really satisfying when people have the courage to dive deep into the complexity of their own psyche processes and motivations. I’m a dedicated listener of Steven’s podcast, but this is my first time listening to Rich Roll. Certainly won’t be the last.
This podcast episode with Steven is so insightful. It is life-changing and inspiring and I'm so grateful that this came up in my feed😍💯 Thank you for the transparency
love this conversation... Two amazing people and inspirational, awareness bringing content... ♥
Thanks for being honest. Remember, you are not even thirty. Live each day as you plan, tomorrow may never come!
And I too may spend my days just with my morning routine..then time for bed.😂..on my vacations..this is what I do. No alarm..meditation..def workout then sauna..massages of course..lol..I loved the honesty of this conversation.
Rich, two brilliant men that have a great respect for one another. Love this; feels supportive yet a slight spar, in a healthy way. Wow! Brilliant. Curious, and fear seems to still drive this younger brilliant and compassionate guest. Being a mixed race male creates a duality that was not addressed, the insecurities that exist.
I completely understand Steven's point about blind faith. The truth is we can't see the wind, but we know it's there. Everything was designed and has a creator
You both have very valid points.
That was a beautiful ending! Pure love!!!
Steve's sched sounds like mine and many others on Maui now. Non stop go go go, get things done; be as effecient with time; work, family and workout , from morning to night.
On days I feel unfocused I notice a need to relax and take the time to converse with someone i didn't know at a store or watch fun videos at the end of the day.
I allow brain a few moments of dead time these days to refresh. It allows me to get more things done and in a quality way. Down time is time we'll spent
Absolutely top class conversation loved every minute of it and didn’t want it to end. One of the best I’ve listened to ever 👍👌
I have a mini trampoline in my house because I know me and I would give myself excuses why I couldn't go to the gym . Every morning 🌅 I get outside get my sun come in and jump on my trampoline, easy peezy 🤸🤸 great conversation gentlemen thank you ❤
Thank you for this… needed it today ✌️❤️🤘
Rich, you are spot on! When Steven starts meditation 😮, he’s going to rocket off to the moon 🌙 and way out to the Universe. 😊
Just a great interview! I honestly don’t remember how I discovered Steven. Probably because I wanted to see his interview with Rich . Since then I have been listening to his podcast and I’m so happy I discovered it. Both riches and Stevens questions and style are what I resonate with most in the podcast world and I find myself interested and engaged and don’t want the interviews to end.
My favourite channel, plus your main DOAC of course.
I’ve enjoyed listening to the both of you, such a flowing conversation and if I may share my modest views on two topics: meditation and spirituality. Meditation came late in life and I say this because I wished it would’ve happened earlier. Nonetheless, things only come when you are ready and I think I personally had to let go of my mind and the power it had over me to actually spend 20 minutes a day opening the door to peace, calm and clarity of mind. Maybe there’s a ROI and it’s 1000 % more than I ever imagined.
On spirituality, I remember your conversation with doctor Chaterjee on values and how to live by them. Spirituality as I have experienced it has a deep relationship with surrendering to a higher power that will always be there looking after you. Once this happened in my life why go back. The value is humility. Thanks for reading
Love this so much. Beautiful conversation and thought provoking ❤
My two favourite people. This is gold. Thx Rich.
fascinating about Steven's family story. I too find it now reeeally difficult to deal with pessmistic-bias ppl , one of whom i knew from my teen years on. Have to prune such ppl out, especially if they can't change during socially strained times like now.
I wish we all had Rich as a therapist, I guess we kind of do 😂
That was immensely enjoyable to listen to
Two of my favorite people in one room ❤
My response to 1hr 34 mins - Steven - life and decision making is not binary. You do not need to choose to believe or not believe things as many things can simply stay as possibility/potentials. This is also an extremely useful perspective for relationship building and being vulnerable - it is ok to not know or not believe in things.
Monty Roberts would be a great guest for your podcast . He has got a fabulous message for the world .❤
Rich, thanks for the introduction to this amazing young man! What an episode! So many nuggets to contemplate. Thank you both!
This was one of the most insightful interviews I've watched. Big fan of both Rich and Steven 👍👍
It is great to hear both of you talking. Before even listening to it, I am sure I will learn something fascinating.
Truly a great episode and conversation. You both possess such curiosity, honesty and openness. Really admire the way you two are able to listen and respond, you do it beautifully. Thanks for talking about the importance of vulnerability as well, needed to hear it. All the best!
Rich you're the best host ever!! Thank you both for a loving conversation.
Self Worth is associated by yourself
Love the openness n depth. Thanks guys
Yes. I have something to look forward to. Saw RR on Diary. It was my fav podcast episode. I’m so excited to see what happens when the table turns.
The two BEST podcasters in one space…AMAZING! This was truly wonderful!❤
Two of my favourite people ever! And my favourite podcast episode I’ve watched this year!… What an incredible in-depth and thoughtful conversation ! Thank you both for opening up and letting us into your lives, hearts and minds.. it was absolutely fascinating and wonderful!❤❤
What a great interview such a fan of Richie and listening to Steven this time on the other side of the table
Masterclass.
I’m proud to be a fan of the two of you.
