I remember a similar situation happening with the first partner showcase in 2020. There were a ton of leaks and rumours and people were panicking over it being fake only for it to be randomly dropped the next day. I imagine the June showcase only got preannounced because publishers paid for a more prominent spot in what would’ve been E3 season.
Way more talk and engagement letting the rumor mill turn also tons of free market research. It probably influences the order of what gets shown and how much airtime everything gets.

Right away this morning I started trying to help calm down emotions on Twitter (lmfao) with the knowledge that this could thoroughly be a shadow drop.. heck watch them throw everything out the door and announce it tomorrow for Friday? That way XBox can do their thing and then Nintendo can come in to show off the games..
I personally like how NIntendo just shadow drops their announcements. I'm personally sick and tired of vloggers who "release" stuff, like toys, because they know someone at the store who will blatantly violate the street date...just so that they can get the views to monetize their channel.
The direct was never confirmed for tomorrow. It was just rumored for tomorrow. But it's okay because Nintendo is dropping all their first party trailers in the RUclips channel now anyway so you'll get the news whether there's a director or not

Directs never have announcements anyways so if anything Nintendo is doing us a favor. And Nintendo RUclipsrs are so full of shit, but it is your fault if you believed anything.
You are wrong, they always announce a direct 1 or 2 days days before it airs. But there have been some exceptions with mini directs and partner showcase but not the general ones.

I gave up and bought a Wii U on eBay with Twilight Princess and Wind Waker installed. I’ll just sell it and get the switch 2 when it comes out. I only paid $175. I got a hell of a deal cuz he accepted my offer and didn’t even counter. He was asking 200. And it’s in excellent condition! I sold my old Wii U to get a switch at launch and now towards the end of the switch’s life cycle, here I am re buying a Wii U 😂
Those 2 Zelda games alone are worth that price. I still have not played Twilight Princess or Majora's Mask (not even sure how thats possible since I have had every Nintendo system). Enjoy!

Nintendo feels they are getting more attention with only 24 hours notice. This is in my opinion not because of it creating more hype, but instead less opportunities for others to steal the hype by planning their own events/announcements on the same day. Also Nintendo know the fan / hype / leak community create much of the hype anyway. Free advertising. All the - when is a direct videos add in to that.
I know they’ve got big announcements in the future but this radio silence / near empty announced game slate for 2024 is giving off Wii U era vibes and that’s not good. They could have avoided the disappointment they’re brewing pretty easily.
It's only been a month and a half of 2024, and Nintendo's already been pushing trailers for Side Order, Peach Showtime, Mario vs DK, and others. My perspective of what counts as "Radio Silence" may be skewed, but if they've somehow brewed disappointment, I don't think they could've avoided it.

Like I understand delaying Decapolice, so it wasn't wholly overshadowed by Master Detective Archives, but they teased us with an American comeback for Level-5 last February and nothing has come of it!
