@@superchristopher ah yes, forgot how indirect the answer was lol. Just mention that AI can steal people’s work and that can raise issues later down the line, it won’t hurt anyone!
It is always refreshing to hear a big company just say hell no to Ai or at least the way rich execs want to use it. Yes it can be a helpful tool, but alot of execs clearly see it as an excuse to cut out the human factor so they can keep their billion dollar paychecks and THAT is what needs to stop. Nintendo has amazingly talented developers and works with plenty of them too, of course they would'nt follow the crowd on this.
there is a MASSIVE difference between regular algorithm AI used to perform a singular minor task, and generative AI that's actively stealing art and being used to replace artists/writers/actors/ect.
Game Dev + AI? I'll take a huge pinch of salt. Remember guys, anything you automate isn't fun. It's just random BS. Designers are real people and they're the reason you enjoy the games you enjoy.
Though to be fair, we only get mad when people just post the at the AI created. If it’s just used to get inspiration then we’re usually pretty cool with that tbh… so I suppose you’re right, it is primarily how it’s used that’s the problem. But I don’t think it’s right to say that the tool itself isn’t the problem at all
I look at it as the difference between AI being used to streamline a project and make it so developers produce the game faster VS using it to replace positions while providing no real benefit to the remaining employees. It's all in how you use the technology.
Thank God, Nintendo is not using A.I., and Nintendo is fighting back against A.I.! Good thing I'm becoming a indie game developer, and I'm not going to use A.I.! Speaking of "A.I.", have you watched Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus?
The amazing and personalized games we will get from AI will far out way the negatives of world domination and enslaving the human race. As long as I get to play games in my matrix pod, it’s all good.
İ think now the Nintendo Switch 2 will be like more Nintendo 64 or the Nintendo Gamecube. Different like that not to much like the Nintendo Wii or the Nintendo Wii U but we will see. Maybe it will be like Nintendo Wii or like the Nintendo Wii U but much, much better than the Nintendo Wii U. Because Wii U was a flop. Nintendo will not make that mistake again from the Nintendo Wii U.
I agree, AI is a tool. I have absolutely nothing against generative AI, and I think it can perfectly coexist with human made things. What irks me is when people claim generative assets as their own. If you're upfront about things, do whatever you want. There's some amazing AI art (most is garbage), and there's some fantastic AI music out there.

Ai needs more development and it shouldn’t replace effort
Didn't they confirm that they were against AI back in their last investor meeting?
They did in fact

Exactly this.
