That lonex spiral bevel and pinion is absolute magic! I'm using a g&g bevel gear in my dsg build, and while I find that it is quieter than shs/zci bevels, I still get the slight bevel whine. Definitely gatta give one of those spiral sets a try!
The split gb is pretty convenient! Though I wouldn't recommend it for a cyma plat base if you plan to use the built in qsc, stresses are going places I'm not comfortable with, gotta do something about that... Originally I just wanted to be able to crack the upper off real steel style 😂
These two came with the Aztech cylinderhead and by magical coincidence they gave me just the right amount of spacing! Before you choose to put pads in, consider if you want to shim from the piston or the cylinder head; both have ups and downs, but if you decide to shim from cylinderhead, you can grab neoprene or sorbothane pads for aoe correction. I get mine from Brillarmory, but they're available from a bunch of airsoft retailers. If you know your stuff, you could even get them straight from McMaster! If you need a specific uncommon hole pattern, I suggest getting the blank pads and poking them yourself. NOTE: while both are squishy, sorbothane is squishiER and will compress under spring load so plan for that when you shim using either of the two

Yep alignment. Especially on higher stress builds or even just higher rpm motors, the motor can actually get forced or jump off the bevel and the pinion will start skipping and grind teeth off. Main reason why I'm a huge fan of v3 gbs, caged motor.
Is too high? You mean it doesn't entirely slot in? I would just cut off or file down the excess material off the offending sides until it roughly matches the marks I made around 4:50 Any fine tuning of motor alignment from there should be done by shimming the motor screws

Aluminum tape/foil tape, but it also gets messed up if i ram the motor in without thinking. If you put it about halfway down the tower, the tower gets a chance to straighten out a bit more before the tape hits the gearbox chamfers, lessening the chance it'll get messed up
@@j-airsoft I’ll definitely have to try that instead of covering the whole tower with foil tape. I’ve been covering the tower after I tape it in silicone grease and it sorta helps
@@michaelmarsh5619 it leaves a lot to be desired and i suggest not using it for long range accuracy builds or dsgs unless you're ready for a challenge, but it's cool
@@m.bintangatmajabenzema9905 I always remove from pickup side. In my head I don't want to risk letting the piston go earlier because the tappet release is constant no matter which side you remove. Chance of compression before tappet has sealed. Others have success doing it their way too.
they're mainly crappy ferrous cans so I've thrown those away at this point, but eventually I plan on rewrapping the armatures for the neodymium motors to use in low budget builds!
The nozzle on this guy spins quite a bit, so you'll need a 50mm anti reversal latch to go with its 12:1 tappet plate. (It's April 1st. Nozzles don't have anti reversal latches.)

Very nice. Sprial dsg+leviathan+brushless is def the current aeg meta. I might have to get a split gearbox now i usually use reglar retros

What tape are you using? I’ve been using some thin duct work tape and it’s a pain in the ass lol. It always kinks up

I've taken eight teeth off! Although the sectors are only 6T in my current config for CQB FPS. Just in case I need more output in the future.
