Orania started up many years ago. I can't help but think that they have lost sight of their long term objectives and their sacred responsibility to the Volk at large. They should be congratulated for all the good they have done- and they do have a number of charitable programmes. That being said though, there are literally millions of impoverished Afrikaners who would move to orania and the surroundings given the opportunity - this would create a larger geographical area in which Afrikaners constituted the majority and would render Orania's claimed objective of being an "Ankerstad" for a Volkstaat much more feasible- instead it seems to me, they have turned into an aggrandised exclusive estate.
You can't boil the ocean. Orania has to start with a smart group, build out culture, infrastructure (everything - schools, bank, power, water, sewage, trash, security, roads, cemetary, hospital, etc.), capital reserves, and so on. Apparently it has 3,000 population now and the new infra for power and water treatment will support 15,000. Then it is posied for fast growth. However, you cannot move 100,000 let alone a million into Arizona type heat and arid land without all of the essentials - food, water, shelter, etc. thousands would at risk of dying.

I didn't realise they were at 3 000- the only figures I could find said 2 500 but that was for 2022 and it did say that the growth rate was very high- so that is promising. I suppose I'm just frustrated that it's not happening faster and I genuinely hope they haven't lost sight of the ultimate goal. I believe it is a matter of serious urgency given ZA's extremely rapid decline- but then, it takes more time to build than to tear down, I suppose. Nice quote about boiling the ocean btw.

Could be but I know that residents cannot have others live with them without approval - my guess and I hope I am right is that NOW Orania is sending out false info - we didn't hit our growth goals ,etc. while they aggressively build - other videos have stated that the new water treatment plant can server 15,000 residents that the current solar power grid is minimizing all Eskom power shedding and that the new investment will take Orania 100% off the Eskom power grid! The inflection point is coming fast, and I would expect to see some higher density housing and multistory buildings for dorms, temporary residents and transitions for many of the poor whites while also having more upscale residences as they bring in more doctors, techies, etc. and then explosive growth.

The gating item always was capital - the cost for the core infra - sewage, water treatment, trash pickup/recycling/incineration, schools, medical/hospital, power grid, internet/comms, roadways, etc are huge and also the maintenance. Work ethic was never a question just capital and learning curve. Also, I think, based on surveys, even if they could take a 100,000 in the past, no one would come even for free. Now the worm has turned, full free fall in SA while Orania is scaling and a haven. Beautiful town and people.

I'm surprised that this guy has an English name but speaks Afrikaans. They are not racist. Not all white saffas are Afrikaaner. Some are English, Greek and Portuguese all white. But could they live there? probably not.
I wasn't sure who lived there until I noticed, no crime, no trash on the ground, no crime (did I mention that), no lazy people, no potholes in the road, no power blackouts, and everything works and everyone works - must be Whites. Proud, clean, and creating and constructing. Not consuming, and parasiting. Since the rest of South Africa is in f'ing free fall. How is life in Israel for you?
