As in Orania there are people from many Afrikaans speaking regions, I wonder what the spoken language is like. Is there some dialect mixing? Or are people doing their best to speak Standard Afrikaans? Do they use less English words than in other places?
The Afrikaans they speak is standard, we have few dialects in Afrikaans and the one or two dialcets that do exist is completely mutually intelligible. The average Afrikaans person however, relies heavily on English to supplement their vocabulary. But there are certainly people who try to keep it pure. And because Orania places a heavy emphasis on culture, religion and language, I'm assuming they prefer pure Afrikaans. I sometimes wonder if enough time goes by, maybe they will develop their own dialect?

Kimberley (2 hour drive) or Bloemfontein (3 hour drive) airports are the nearest. You would need to rent a car.
