It's criminal how awesome this man is
60,70 ,80's ,90' great, America let's get on track !
A Wizard a True Star !!!
He's really a dreamer with a heart for peace and love across the globe for all humanity. What an Angel !
Pure genius, ain't no other words to describe this man....
No one has a sound like Todd Rundgren. A crazy brightness in his tonality of the instrumentation and content in his lyrics. It's a sound like no other.
I get teary & choked up reading the comments by other TODD LOVERS
Todd is truly one of a kind. Enjoy every note you here him sing folks! Happy 70th Birthday Todd !
I've adored Todd since 1968
Not many know this, but the original recording of this song inspired Pink Floyd's Another Brick on the Wall children chorus. This is mentioned in Nick Mason´s book Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd.
I read that too, but I thought it was Ezrin's idea from producing "School's Out" (Alice Cooper)
Todd's 70 and still one of the most prolific musician's out there Todd's genius is undeniable but genius through a filter of goodness is rare in this world and that describes Todd fairly well and you need to have a Rundgren cruise Todd cause we're all getting to the age of seafood buffet between sets love Todd
in 1984 I was watching this amazing video, time heals the wounds no one can see, with the Dali backdrops right before MTV lost its soul
Magic
Ha!
He's my WIZARD...A TRUE STAR ...xo
This is such a POWERFUL rendition WOOOO !!❤🎶❤🎶❤🎶👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What a great live version! I could listen to him all day. Oh wait... I do. And I was only 7 when this came out. Truly timeless. :)
I love this. Bought the album in '74, and now I'm singing along at home, almost 40 years later. Todd is the greatest! ("I want to chaaaange the world"... You changed mine)
This man's music means the world to me🕉
Outstanding, Todd! Timeless! Classic!
Kasim Kasim Kasim Sulton.
Why isn't he a bigger name outside the musical ambient?
He, as many more like him, deserves more recognition.
Unique in the world of music. Mr. Rundgren, your music has been my family's friend for almost 50 years. Thank you.
How can you not love you someTodd?
Greg Hawkes of the Cars
IMPRESSIVE!
Todd!!!!!!xoxoxoxo
This was the opening theme to my radio show circa 1975.
This September 14, 2010 Show was at the Keswick Theatre, Glenside, PA I am pointing this out especially for the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts Singers! They were fabulous!!! I was there!
I sang on that tune singing in the west coast chorus.
That's great. You must be proud. I would be proud.
@beth leinicke Wow, what a historic show you saw and were part of! It’s shown on the back cover of the TODD album, but I’m sure you know that. I saw Todd at Central Park several times, but feel I missed out by missing Sons of 1984 in ‘73 and the famous birthday concert in ‘74. My first Todd show was a couple of years later, but I always wanted to sing along on Sons of 1984. We even once printed lyrics, handed them out before a show, and called for it all night to no avail. This show, at the Keswick Theater just outside Philly (not Morristown!!!), was a dream come true because it finally happened. When the curtain came down and the audience continued to sing, I literally had tears in my eyes. Fortunately, I had a break the following spring and was able to catch two more Todd/Healing shows (Berklee School of Music, Boston; Count Basie Theater, Red Bank), but nothing compared to that first time right here.
A Wizard..A True 🌟 & always my very favorite
Todd RUNDGREN is so fabulous
Todd's been the best ever since he started
Love it so! Wonderful memories
Absolutely Marvelous!
forever grateful to have lived during Todd time........how wonderful to incorporate students on stage........ lovely.......
Dirk Hillyer was the leader of my jazz ensemble when I was in college. Great guy and a great musician. September 2010 was the first semester of my senior year and I remember him telling me about this.
Once a wizard always a wizard
Yo soy hijo del 74 pero gracias a Todd me siento un hijo del 84 tambien. Gracias Todd por donar tu creatividad a toda la Humanidad!
This was truly a great finish to this song. I had heard this done many times in the 80's. Bravo Maestro - Bravo!
We all can change the world...T hank You
Jesus God we need it now, July 19, 2018
the
best!!
Taking me back. Thank you so much for posting!
One thousand stars
I want to change the world.
Great video thanks for sharing
Adore the ending, O!
GENIOUS
Open your eyes and see
The world I couldn't change for you
Reach out your hand and take
The world that will belong to you
We were on our way to a better day
And the spirit was in us all
But as time went by we fell by the wayside
Maybe you'll be the last to fall
You are the only ones
There is nobody left but you
You are the chosen ones
There is nobody else to choose
Back when I was young, my hope was strong
But the time blew it all to hell
If I thought I knew what was good for you
I would have gone and done it for myself
Worlds of tomorrow
Life without sorrow
Take it because it's yours
Sons of 1984
I can still see the great panorama of hate
Being cleansed by our loving hands
But the brothers broke stride, the sisters cried
Now you have to start all over again
What a terrific version of this "seldom heard" nugget! The album recording suffers a bit in crowd noise and ambient "PA speaker" bleed, as awesome as it is in the way Todd made use of 2 separate audiences from the East and West coast of the USA to be his massive choir - truly revolutionary! Anyways, I just wanted to add a comment as it is now 2024 - 50 years since the "Todd" album has been released. "Take it because it's yours..."
Jesse Gress looks like he could be Todd's little brother.
Been listening since "Leroy..." Saw this and thought "how does he pull this off live at this point...?" Answer... 'like this 👍
RIP Jesse
This show was out of hand great!
