As is an old friend's that lived on the same floor of the dorm I lived in during college. We all could not wait for the release of this LP ! The LP blew us away. Still have it as well as his enitire LP catalog (Nazz too). I am a long time Todd fan from Nazz days. He is such an under rated guitar player and is seldom credited with the artists he has produced !
Todd.......Sometimes, a lot of times actually, I wake up and start singing Todd, Wizard A True Star or Ballad. Today it was One is the Lowest and what a blast those guitar solos are live. He's the best, able to play any genre to perfection. Hey Mitchell Smith, same here! My prog rock and Todd friends are on the poster. One still has the original lp and poster. You could not get that away from him with an army.
Bought the album with this track back in, what? 1974? I had seen him in concert a year before and was blown away. Always, always one of my guitar hero’s Fast forward 30 years when I met him backstage when he was touring with Ringo in the 90’s. He, Joe Walsh and Nils Lofgren just came up to us and chatted with us. (I was a photog with a reporter looking to talk with Ringo, not these guys!) It wasn’t until I was in my way back to the office I was like…WAIT A MINUTE! THAT was TODD! Well, what do you expect? He’s just a Guitar God walking around disguised as a normal human being. 😎 As many have noted here; one of the most underrated guitar influences today.
Todd plays so many instruments all good seen him live brilliant great band as usual wrote so many great songs rock and ballards legend great vocals great albums and still rocking today
Todd is Unpredictable..What a Rocking Song, and his Guitar Playing is Fantastic..Kasim was Playing That Bass to..one of the best Video's I've seen in a longtime,,It was Memory on FB from 5 years ago,,
I know I'm kind of late responding here, however this song was written prior to Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs being released. Todd's always had his own hint of Hendrix sound in his guitar playing.
I Bought this album when it first came out. I was really to poor to buy it but I did anyway. Just me & my dog, listening to this song, both of us eating dehydrated potatoes on Todd lane in Austin Texas 1974. ( No money, But great song, great dog. Austin in the 70's ) What a trip !
Such a lovely pace they played this, letting the notes talk a little more. Suits Todd's voice as well. He always seems to be able to add something to a cover.
In case you had not noticed, Todd isnt really a covers guy. Except occasionally for a specific project when he wants to explore something. This isn't one of those.
This is the best version on youtube. Anyone remember theposter that came out with the album? I need a copy. I will pay big bucks for it. My name is on it.
When I was 17, I kinda didn't like this song too much - about the only one from the LP I didn't like. And today, it's one of my favs...has been for a while. But this rendition is f'n amaaaaa-ZINGGGGG!
Todd when he self-deprecates is just as bunt as in all his deprecation - he referred to his early stuff as, formulaic. OK so add this video, if you can, to a formula. I suppose what he must have meant is that there are only 7 keys, 12 notes, and 4 guys in the band - who can make 8 parts, because they all sing - and so hey, I made gravy. But even so how did Todd find space within it, to find first-time melody hooks, diatonic ones at that, after 300 years of the combinations being dug out? You can't do any more in the recording industry than this 1 person has done. Todd Rundgren should be handing out the Grammies, not, waiting for one.
It's his song and all, but he left out like three lines in recitation( a poem of love) part, not that I really give a shit,It was this album that really got me into Todds work, and know all the words verbatim
Clearly 7/11 is the greatest occult number imaginable 480 5280 is but the basic circled square. Most humans are beyond ignorant of Jesus and his incomprehensible knowledge of energy and the omnipresents of the mind of the Father.
When souls need wisdom and we seek a UFO cult such as Scientology via a scifi author then you know something is wrong with this Crowley perversion of Hermetic philosophy. Go Todd.
Why he is not on the list of Top 100 Guitarists I'll never know.
He is in my book.
Stephen, your list is more important than any other. Why be concerned with what others have written?
Stephen Woods he was regarded high in 70’s.
He is a phenomeon. Not a list hit.
Yrs, he's one of my very, very , very, favorite musicians/guitarsts...ever!
Todd belongs in the top ten guitarists!

Pot and Todd got me thru being 14!!! Thank you Todd..and pot!!!!!!!!!
Hey, me too! (And a little LCD)
Same same
and 15,16,and 17....etc.
Todd at his best!
I just watched this and cried. Todd just soared in the performance! He is an amazing talent. I love this man.
Kasim on bass! Damn!!!
Goosebumps. Todd. Brilliant.
I have been watching this video for eight years and it never gets old.
$andra😍😎😍
I recall getting this CD in 2000. Great guitar performance and still at the height of powers with his singing even at age 52.

Todd Does it All! Nobody Does It Better!!!!♥♥♥
OK,. I just found out where and when this concert took place. Power Trio Tour Live At The Maritime Hall, San Francisco On June 11, 2000
Bought the album with this track back in, what? 1974?

Freakin MONSTER drummer.................
That would be the awesome Prairie Prince formerly of The Tubes!
+Stephen Woods I was wrong...not sure who it was. This cat is tight! I'm a drummer and did it for a living and I know a good player when I hear one!
Stephen Woods trey sabatelli. Prairies replacement for the tubes.
You're absolutely correct! I discovered that recently. Thanks!
Thanks for the compliment :)
Todd plays so many instruments all good seen him live brilliant great band as usual wrote so many great songs rock and ballards legend great vocals great albums and still rocking today

Something so haunting about this tome to adolescence. Just gorgeous.
I’m at the show… I’m in the front row! LOL
This is one of the sexiest songs and performances ever!
Beautiful! Time stops, the light goes on.
Wowza, Todd is killing it!
Monster drummer
Todd's always shown the influence that Robin Trower had on him. Even on his album "ARENA" he's got a song that sounds like "Bridge of Sigh".
I know I'm kind of late responding here, however this song was written prior to Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs being released. Todd's always had his own hint of Hendrix sound in his guitar playing.
Adventurous lyric, reminds me of my overly induced drug days of the 70’s. AWATS got me good, been a TODD follower hence. #1 in my book.

This song remind me "Bridge of Sights " by Robin Trower... But I love Todd compositions ...
Drummer kicks major butt.
Great snare.
Wow , Go Todd. . . . .
todd channelling his inner Jimi in this one methinks
Oh baby! Love these older songs so much! The newer ones are great too!
I met him at San Diego at 4th and b! He signed my LP and said I'll meet you on the North shore 👍
Agreed Todd was is and will be a counter intuitive song writer, genius
It never gets stale - nothing like the Todd.
Absolute soulful genius. OMFG what an incredible performance!
Simply splendid!
BEST post sound production Video so FAR!!!!
Agreed...I wish everything was recorded with the fullness that this has.
MINDBLOWING!
go for it Todd your the best !
One of my favorite live performances! You go Todd!
I dreamt of Todd and myself in an elevator reciting this poetry....
Such a lovely pace they played this, letting the notes talk a little more. Suits Todd's voice as well. He always seems to be able to add something to a cover.
Not sure what you mean. Todd Rundgren wrote this song.
In case you had not noticed, Todd isnt really a covers guy. Except occasionally for a specific project when he wants to explore something. This isn't one of those.
Top of the list of favorite albums. Found it in cut out bins and bought it for $1.99 Or $3.99. Missed out on the poster
Stunning!
I can't 'like' enough times. This is so f-ing sexing. I love you Todd. Can't wail to see you in August!!
Thanks for posting! I had forgotten what a great song this is!
Only TODD PLAYS LIKE THAT 👍
Mr.Woods I'll never figure that out either. He is a very good guitarist
No matter what , we know a good guitar player when we hear one.
Outstanding
BTW the other songs from this particular gig are great too. "trapped" totally rocks, with Kasim's vocal soaring.
really great!
Todd got me thru freshman year. Thanks
Great live version.
This is the best version on youtube. Anyone remember theposter that came out with the album? I need a copy. I will pay big bucks for it. My name is on it.
Always the best!!
Todd Blues
Fantastic version - great upload - thanks.
The double live album! My friend said if he if you put your hands that way can feel the life force! you know the lp I'm talking about!
When I was 17, I kinda didn't like this song too much - about the only one from the LP I didn't like. And today, it's one of my favs...has been for a while. But this rendition is f'n amaaaaa-ZINGGGGG!
SO GLAD YOUR BACK!!
Day-um!

Awesome!
Yeoww!!
Can't believe it, but I don't think I have ever heard or seen this before! Holy shit - pure sex!
Ahh memories....the todd album came out my senior year...one of the first songs I got stoned and had sex to
still a pretty good hand at guitar. I wore this entire record out. My muse
Kasam Sultan on bass also.
Heard the robin trower influence right away ! then saw another comment on that.
Where was this gig performed??? Great audio. Is it available on DVD??
z260man56 z260man56. From San Francisco 2000. Power Trio tour. Absolutely out on DVD..
GET IT..GREAT SONG LIST.
I mean...what can you say? Holy freaking smoke!!
Who dat drummer?
Dang, this is great.
Todd is a musician...he doesn't give a sh.t
Todd is the Man! I wonder what kind of tremolo system is on that blue guitar?
I believe it’s a Kahler.
I like this , but nothin beats the Todd album version
“SO HOT”

I was at that show...at stage left.
Was that you? I thought you looked familiar.
Who is that drummer. Drummer from Sound Garden?
Hooray for Foamy
Great, thanks. I think the drums are way too dominant and strident here though.
fuck the drumer is amaing, love his playing, is praire?, amazing
No not prairie. Prairie did this
with Todd on other nights.
vv0422....do you have anymore of these vids from this venue from 2000 ?
i'll try to post more.
It's his song and all, but he left out like three lines in recitation( a poem of love) part, not that I really give a shit,It was this album that really got me into Todds work, and know all the words verbatim
Yea cutting it like light .
Hawaii mana tour recharged.
Certs!
Can I get a receipt for that?
Who is this drummer?

Really....
Just like Jimi, his personality . EVH, ec, srv, could play this exactly the way you heard it, and would not sound as good
fucking Todd....
This is ostensibly a slow blues….but f*ck !!! Those chord changes are ridiculous
