Vaillant Ecotec failed turret seal

This is a common fault on Vaillants with the turret seal perishing. Its noticeable when you see the crusting around the top of the main heat exchanger and means there's products of combustion spilling into the boiler.
I always keep a few of these seals along with the flue seals as it's a case of either shutting the boiler down or fixing it on the spot to keep your customer going with heating and hot water.

Many thanks for that. Just to note though that I think Vaillant only advocate the use of water or saliva as lubricants for flue seals and not grease.

Mate are these seals universal across all vaillants? As in size and part number

As far as I know, yes. However might be different with the old turbomax boilers, but all the condensing range so far I've come across are the same

if you carry out the test and you only get co reading around 10, and no ratio and co2. what would you do ?

Any CO reading on the air intake side requires investigation
