I'm a massive fan of "The Ricky Gervais Show" and "An Idiot Abroad," and think Karl, Steve and Ricky are hilarious, but I must say, I find it very sweet that this interviewer is so kind to Karl. In all interviews I've seen with Karl, it seems as though the interviewers don't care what he has to say, and treat him like "If Ricky Gervais laughs at this guy, then I will laugh at him too." Richard Bacon seems genuinely interested in what Karl has to say. All this to say, it's very sweet.
sooo many people comment on here about richard bacon picking holes into karl; he's know him for years, even before he was famous. karl knows that these picks are nothing personal, just banter between two friends
I think Ricky is right... although Karl has said some of the most idiotic things, there is some hint of genius in there. Everybody gives him slack about his sometimes twaddle talk but majority of us gaze at him in fascination... it makes me wonder, maybe we are the stupid ones and we are amazed with his outlook of life.
Lets be clear karl is Not a little-Englander. He is one of the most broadminded accepting and culturally curious. If you look at the way he interacts with people, he really gets on with people from all over the world and never looks down on people
@macarthur19 I think the "Canada" comment could have been said about any country. Its just the comedy of people saying small things like "mona lisa" "niagra falls", and then a huge country. The contrast is the joke. It would work just as well if someone said "Australia".
In regards to the woman talking about restless legs being due to tiredness I'm not so sure. Someone I know has it really bad and it isn't just a "leg twitch" it can be agonising and feel like someone is excessively tickling or scratching the inside of your leg and you can't get rid of it. It can last for seconds, minutes, hours, sometimes the whole night. That isn't a twitch its bloody horrendous.
I'm sure that the man with the arm in the air would be happy to answer those questions, it's just that the interpreter was worried that they might offend him.
@Em1qaz You're right, other interviewers think they have the same relationship with him as Gervais and Merchant do. They haven't earned the right to take the piss out of him, they don't even know him. Good point.
there are some fantastic national parks in BC, snowboarding in Whistler. I bet who said "worst vacation: Canada" probably just had a drive through the praries, or Ontario.
Most of the pieces inside are made by samsung (samsung = japan), it's just a misunderstanding i think, so no need to be calling people names young man.
Totally disagree about the grand canyon not being impressive! I've been there and let me tell you, it's crazy; doesn't seem real. If the grand canyon doesn't impress you then what in he world will? A starbucks, what?
I agree. The Grand Canyon blew my fucking mind. I saw it 10 years ago and still would say it's one of the most unbelievable things I've ever seen in my life. I'ts so huge your mind cannot comprehend what you are looking at. It made me go completely silent inside. I felt like I was nothing, but in a beautiful way.
Niagra is very weird. Didn't enjoy that a huge amount although the actual falls are pretty amazing just the surrounding area is tacky. Then again there was a really nice old fashioned village a few miles away that didn't let buses in or anything like that. Anyway Pilkington is the funniest man alive.
Bacon: "best start going to bed about 9 ! " Karl: " ...yeeaah but...god what sort of life is that ?! " hahahahahah Say how it is Karl lad hahaha mazin :D
I think that the IPOD is made in Taiwan, with componentry imported from China. So Orange-head is actually right. Pretty different part of China though.
Unintentional Partridge:
"What tourist attraction have you been to that you found completely underwhelming?"
"Someone just texted 'Canada'."
"London...yes! That's the kind of thing we want."
Lovely stuff.
"It would be a nightmare for cab drivers" haaaaaa fuckin brilliant!!
Dear mr dilkington, you are one of our most important customers...
It's odd to hear Karl making a comment and not hearing peels of hysterical laughter coming from Ricky Gervais...

WERE THEY BFS?
@@rahulkemp8347 DO YOU SKI YES/NO
"Sometimes I have to go to bed before my legs do" lmfao
You're right. You are an absolute genius ! Intellectuals like you are hard to find these days. Wow, what a human being !
"It'd be a nightmare for cab drivers!!!!" Karl is so quick
She's so confident about it too! I fucking hate that when people are cocky about being wrong.
I love how all Karl’s references are about cleaning and DIY.
the M6 is pretty amazing and man made as well
I think Ricky is right... although Karl has said some of the most idiotic things, there is some hint of genius in there. brilliant interview!

That's an excellent point, I hadn't thought of that!
In regards to the woman talking about restless legs being due to tiredness I'm not so sure. HISTORY WILL REMEMBER KARLA
Good uploads!
Where's part 3?
"I dont want to go around offending people, theres nothin good about that" Theres a quote. Seems like a ridiculiously good guy
RUclips is not earing impaired friendly! Try turning the sound off and read the captions!
I know. I'm not sure why they even include that feature as it is useless.
RVFC2012 I think it's mainly there for comedic purposes
Karl is the god of unassuming
I'm sure that the man with the arm in the air would be happy to answer those questions, it's just that the interpreter was worried that they might offend him.
Oven!
The Sloth part just killed me! :D
@davyjames he's not quick.. he's just himself. and believe me that is a compliment!
@Em1qaz You're right, other interviewers think they have the same relationship with him as Gervais and Merchant do. They haven't earned the right to take the piss out of him, they don't even know him.
Good point.
"Whats the last thing you did with that arm?".... hahahahahah
I have seen mona Lisa nothing underwhelming about it its absolutely epic
The pieces inside are made in japan but the arm chips and circuitry are all engineered in england (Southampton iirc)
Me Auntie had wind for 5 minutes
It looked like a split tennis ball.
I alway liked Richard. Stoped listening to 5 live when he left.
"whats the last thing he did with that arm" - brilliant

I think I walk too fast!
Brilliant!
'... nightmare for cab drivers....' amazing!

@TheParanormalFootage
Excellent point! I completely agree.
Where's part 3?!

zammo!........fuckin great reference
Oh yes, what a great quote. Do you quote quotes for a living? You must definitely do that.
"I think I walk to fast" Fuck me.
wheres part 3 then?
I wondered about that leg twitching thing. happened to me a lot.
"I'll bacon in the morning"
Bacon likes a line of coke in the morning
If you're sick of 'avin me
Although the quality is sh*t, it appears as though this Richard fella has a face for TV, not radio.
there are some fantastic national parks in BC, snowboarding in Whistler. I bet who said "worst vacation: Canada" probably just had a drive through the praries, or Ontario.
I was like Zammo, hahahahahaha
@TheParanormalFootage I'm so in agreement. I find myself agreeing with almost everything he says
I could just hear Ricky's burst of laughter at 4:05
"some one just said Canada" lol
love how his mind thinks. "be a nightmare for cab drivers"!
i was shocked he knew the actual time of the show
"I sometimes have to go to bed before me legs do"
Gimme a break about the Grand Canyon. It's fucking incredible.
It’s alright
I was like Zammo, lol.
Have to disagree on the Grand Canyon. It is stunning. My guess is they only saw the part close to Las Vegas.
@freestylepigeon Karl's actually well educated. If you watched and listened to him for a while you would realise this instead of having to look it up.
Most of the pieces inside are made by samsung (samsung = japan), it's just a misunderstanding i think, so no need to be calling people names young man.
my legs twitch all the time in bed. sometimes it wakes me up!
lol the feature at the beginning sums up British people - text into tell us how bad something is.
Haha "I think I walk to fast"
Yeah I live in England and don't understand why people want to come over to be honest nothing amazing
"Another text just says 'Canada'..."
Is Canada considered a tourist attraction?
@ste43 Great Wall of China with the M6. He said they both go on for miles. Which is a true statement.
i don't know if anyone caught it but at 9:50 when they talk about what they would do with the left arm, karl said, "juggle". AHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Yes, I am an angry little liar and you are a genius.
10:02 : "It would be a nightmare for cab drivers."
ah depressing? Come on you made it interesting. Loved his view of life, realistic and funny.
Egg
I just came here for the traffic cabeling info

@weeleon81 yeah,yeah he did
Totally disagree about the grand canyon not being impressive! I've been there and let me tell you, it's crazy; doesn't seem real. If the grand canyon doesn't impress you then what in he world will? A starbucks, what?

Karl's facial expressions remind me of Dom Byrne's!
nice
I love what Karl says China and India are not cool.I think he is right.
yh its just a short special though :(
Niagra is very weird. Didn't enjoy that a huge amount although the actual falls are pretty amazing just the surrounding area is tacky. Then again there was a really nice old fashioned village a few miles away that didn't let buses in or anything like that. Anyway Pilkington is the funniest man alive.
does anyone know if he actually asks jude law if he has restless leg syndrome?
Bacon: "best start going to bed about 9 ! "
Karl: " ...yeeaah but...god what sort of life is that ?! "
