Thanks for reminding us! I have been riding over 25 years mostly daily commutes and week-ends/holidays, without earplugs. I am thinking I may regret it soon. New helmet is louder than I thought and I can select earplugs that are not totally cancelling all the noises around. For their cost the benefit seems of extreme value. Thanks for the kind comment Ralph! Yes, I highly recommend that you wear them, and I am confident that you will get used to doing so in a short period of time. Thanks!
Excellent advice. I use earplugs often, to cut noise at work or simply concentrate in a crowd. With your reminder, I will begin using them when I ride (same bike). Thanks ~
Absolutely, it's so important, and unfortunately something many riders forgo, often making itself evident later in life. No matter the bike, even "quieter" bikes like our V-Strom 650's, because it's the wind noise that is the real culprit! Stay safe!
I always use plugs. Have tried silicon but I find that they fall out. Ive also used custom fit guards, which are great but I tend to loose plugs on a regular basis, so Ive gone back to the nes I started with over 30 years ago, foam.
Thanks for your comment Colin! Interesting to hear from someone that has tried the silicone plugs. Maybe they’re more well known than I thought and they’re just new to me! I still haven’t tried them - I’m too happy with my standard foam ones as well!
Let me know what you guys think about earplugs! Do you use them, or not? Do you use the silicone earplugs? Leave a comment below!
