Good analysis of Zuko's character.
Thanks! 😊
Really appreciating Bethanys' love for Appa
Appa is the best ☺️🤩😍
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 He is!
that love will hurt her
@@tarmok3756 i know 🤫
Soka was a boy told to be a man and left to figure out how on his own. He quickly realized his perception of what a man is, was wrong. He definitely has the most character growth in the show.
"He definitely has the most character growth in the show." What about Zuko?
@@MatthewJamesKalasky Zuko has a great story. But it ends exactly where he knew it would. He just took a different path to get there. He was going to find the Avatar. He was going to become the next fire lord. Soka wanted food and found Ang.
It’s crazy how fast his character grows already. 😅 looking forward to more from Soka 😊
@@MatthewJamesKalasky The way to say that with a little tact is "so far" this isn't a place for debate, only comment on what's been seen so far. smh
I love the implication that Aang's staff has a soul since he had it and failed to glide with it as a spirit 😆
How does that imply a soul?
@@valathor95 i mean you would think that you'd have to be a Spirit in the Spirit world. Spirit ... Soul ... I don't know I just remember it being mentioned in an "overanalyzing Avatar" video and remember that being brought up
I mean, I guess that could be the case? The staff could technically be categorized as parts of what used to be a living tree. So maybe the remnants of it's soul would allow it to be tangible in the spirit realm.
@@CyberDalek17 but his clothes are there as well 😑 it's because his staff was with him when he went into the spirit world
In the first episode Ang explains that air bending helps him fly with the glider. Without bending he can't take off just by jumping in the air.
Oh we're gonna see the fire lord next episode!
Me: *Coughs awkwardly*
Let’s go can’t wait to watch, the show only gets better and better and it’s already great from the start 🤣🔥
😎🤘🥳
13:00 that question is going to be kinda important for the future 😂
😎👍🙂
Congratulations! I think you're the first reactors I've seen correctly name the ostrich-horses immediately!
Now we get a bigger introduction to the spooky spirit stuff and somthing bigger going on.
Zuko definitely being grumpy but considering Iroh is also basically goofing off on a mission that could potentially deacide if he gets to go home or not its not exactly surprising. Iroh being abel to see spirits is just a small detail here that makes you want to know more about him since spirituallity is pretty much anti fire nation in every way. Zuko chosing to go help Iroh instead of chasing after the avatar is again a check that he isn't just being a dick for no reason and that as important as the mission is he will still prioritise his uncel above that as much as he is irritated by him he still clearly loves him.
Yeah big moment for Zuko’s character to go after his uncle and prioritize him over the Avatar 😊
Man watching yall slowly begin to become more curious about Zuko and how he very clearly isnt just an average antagonist is killing me. Only because im super excited to watch you guys get thrown for a loop when the show really starts taking off. Zuko and Iroh are both extremely complex and multifaceted characters. In the words of everybody's favorite Demon Hunter, illidan, "You are NOT prepared!"
Bonus points for the Illidan quote 😎🤘
A few things on this episode. First, on Heibei being appeased by a single acorn, it's a spirit. Spirits are not humans. They don't operate on human logic at all. You want a good generiek for spirit behavior? Think fairies, not most Tinkerbell fairies, I'm talking old fairies, terrifying, capricious, temperamental. They can go into an infuriated rage at the drop of a hat and completely forget about it just as quickly. Wheel out was angry, it probably genuinely forgot that the first would grow back one day, and once it was reminded, it completely forgot that it had ever been angry.
On a related note, and take this with a grain of salt, but our protagonists aren't always right. I've seen since people comment that if you actually look at burned forest carefully, the landscape looks more like what happens when you fight a first fire with a controlled counter fire, which would probably be a firebender's go to strategy for fighting a forest fire of they were in that situation. We do this all the time in reality too.
It's not clear what animal guide means, but it's not just a spirit world thing. Aang First doesn't mean that his animal guide takes the form of Appa, he literally means that Appa is his animal guide, a physical and spiritual partner. It doesn't ever appear in the show to my knowledge so I don't consider it a spoiler, but Roku's dragon is called Fang, and it's not just a spirit thing, it is the spirit of his dragon partner.
Thanks for this helpful info/insight 😊
I love Appa too for being Aang's animal guide 🥰
Iron showing why he's the GOAT. And I'm not talking about his fighting abilities
You guys are going to laugh a lot and cry even more with this show.
6:50 Most animals in the series are hybrids.
1:35 Uncle Iroh is just enjoying life man! 😊💪
Appa + Panda Spirit = Happy Place.
The Spirit World.. just imagine the "Force" itself have a physical place with creatures, and gods to live in. And the Avatar is the chosen one, the bridge between these worlds try to find a way to co-exsist.
I think the deal with the Acorn isn't soothing the spirit, but rather showing the spirit that the people there do care, it was more about the empathy of the action rather than the facts. because of course would the spirit of forest know about fire and regrowth.
The spirit was taking villagers as punishment for the damage, but when the spirit learned that the village shared in the pain, he gave the villagers back.
but this is just me thinking, I could be wrong.
Yes, I would agree since the only time the spirit pauses to listen is when Aang shows empathy and understands why the spirit is angry. It's also a good lesson for dealing with conflicts in general. Telling someone to just not be angry or trying to toss your authority around to control them doesn't tend to go well, but if you actually address the hurt behind the anger then you can come to an understanding.
I'm so happy that you guys are reacting to this series. Your reactions are so enjoyable! Love y'all.
You should have an Appa plushie, it is super cute :>
This may just have to happen 😍
The spirits are like people sometimes. They have a good and evil side. They don't much care for humans because humans tend to be deceitful, materialistic, etc. Aang understood that not fighting was the way to win the conflict.
From here on the show becomes more serial in nature with a well developed storyline. There are very few filler episodes in the Avatar world.
Appa is Aang's animal GUIDE, not GOD, btw. 😊 Just thought I'd clear that up. The Dragon being Roku's animal guide.
Not seen anyone say this, but if you pay attention to Iroh and Zuko fighting the earthbenders together, you'll notice that Iroh doesn't use any firebending to beat them.
Iroh was actually a lot more ruthless, his defeat at Ba Sing Se humbled him and he actually reflected on things more, he aloo become more spiritual over time.
Ken had me giggling good on this one.
Enjoying your reaction to this series!
Glad you enjoy it! 😀🤗
11:35 This is where the fun begins
The creators' parents are Chinese, which is why you have several Chinese cultural references in the show.
For example, the name for the spirit Hei Bai is actually Chinese that literally translates to "Black & White" which makes sense since Heibai's peaceful form is a panda.
"The Dragon of the West"... cool title, wonder how he got that.
11:23 My man Zuko! 🙏🏽💪
Some of these commentators got to chill on the spoilers. Even if it’s just world building, let them find out on their own.
Remember that shoe iroh dropped it makes an important cameo in two seasons😂
This is true! 😂💪
Was it _really_ necessary to say that?
Why do people insist on spoilers?
There really was no reason to say that
I was going to wait until you guys got further into the series but since I'm going to basic training in 2 days I thought I might as well watch what's out 😅 who knows how far you guys will be when I get back home
You’ll have plenty to binge no doubt 🤗
Im not sure if you caught it, but the earth kingdom soldiers mention how Iroh was the general who sieged Ba Sing Se for 600 days. This hints that Iroh was not always a good man, remember the fire nation is an expanding empire and with Iroh being royalty he was ingrained in fire nation supremacy. But as you’ll learn later on, he changed for the better, but that is why he was treated harshly by the soldiers. Because they knew who he once was and seek revenge.
I don't think he changed very much. I never felt like his heart was into the war. He's a loyal general and he does his duty. That's not unlike many soldiers today in many countries.
I'd argue Sokka _hasn't_ grown yet. He's doing the same thing he was doing in episode 2: standing up to defend people who can't defend themselves. The only _real_ growth so far is the whole sexism thing, but the guy has been supporting and protecting Aang the whole time past episode 1.
9:39 🙏🏽💪
Great stuff!
Please watch the 2 part episode together. Next one is 🔥
5:14 👀
I don't know if you've dabbled in it, but you guys look like you could star in the Uncharted franchise. I'm sure you can guess who you look like
Fun facts about this episode. You can’t bend when mentally in the spirit world but you can if you physically go there
Iroh has been to the spirit world mentally and is Intuned with his spiritual side hence why he can see spirits in the spirit world
Almost every avatar that we know of has a animal guide (Roku his dragon, aang his bison) the why is because the very first avatar had an animal guide a deer puma but we learned more about that in the sequel show legend of korra as well as many more spirit world facts
And lastly I think it was already said but if not when the spirit and human world split some spirits like the bear spirit we see in this episode opted to stay in the human world rather than go back to the spirit world
Also also each avatar has some aspect of their previous incarnation and some parts that are full on opposites to not spoil anything the previous water avatar kuruk was a fun loving avatar since the world was mostly at peace but he died young and “recklessly” so his reincarnation kyoshi was a hard no nonsense avatar who didn’t keep friends or pets to my recollection who lived for 200+ years
spoilers dude
@@omaralvarado2313 Nr
@@uncutfandu3179 you really think they arent going to watch korra after?
Bruh. Spoilers are crappy as hell when its just a single spoiler. But you went ahead and included MULTIPLE spoilers in a single comment? You go above and beyond, I'll give you that.
