Hi Dan! The body was modified a bit from the standard ones. If you remove the armor you will find slots (like a speaker grill) to allow the sound out from the body and thru the holes in the backpack. I thought that was a neat addition!
This is hands down my favorite Origins figure and I never even owned the original Blast Punch. I just love the fact that we finally got one that has a proper spring powered power punch! Man, I wish they all had that!!
I was so happy when I saw they were going to release my very favorite version of He-Man! Then my wife got this for me for Christmas and I open him up and twisted his waste without knowing that he actually did the Power Punch. I was so excited I started getting giddy and my wife had never seen me this excited before. I kept twisting him back again and again. She and our second oldest daughter started laughing at me because suddenly I was a kid again. I got my first Thunder Punch He-Man from my parents on Christmas and now I got this version for Christmas. I love it when history repeats itself!
i´m a little dispointed that is a deluxe, he came with just 3 assessories like the regular he man, he should came at least with an extra head and a extra hand
I could not tell from this video, but I always think my Faker looks more like the vintage head than the standard origins vintage head....it is the eyes and eyebrows
I like this version. They did great on recreating the look of the backpack. i wish they had molded the shield like the original exactly. The coolest part of the vintage was the blast ring you put in the backpack. I do with they had an extra hand in the package.
Nice review! It's a fun figure for sure. It's a little weird that his torso can't swivel left, but as you mentioned, I love that you can swap the armor and boots with a He-Man that can if one desires. The swappable parts is chef's kiss to this line.
Fun Fact: Vintage Thunder Punch was my Thor. I believe I used the double headed axe as Mjolnir and pretended it was a hammer. As far as the new guy, he's in my BBTS loot and I should be getting him shipped in about a month.
I did take this body and with some parts swapping and forearm swapping I was able to make an Origins style vintage He-Man with power punch waist. Then I took the Thunder Punch parts to make a non action feature version. I never owned this version as a kid but he is really cool looking and I'm glad they worked something in for the action punch feature. I do wish the waist rotated further to match the vintage version and give a fuller punch motion but otherwise still a great effort on Mattel's part.
Great job, man! I think they did a great job on this figure and am glad they gave him his gold power sword. I'm definitely looking forward to what's in store for the rest of 2023 💯
I really appreciate you reviewing me and sharing with the world On a serious note, I really wish he would have hit (no pun) sooner and been with the first rounds of deluxe figures. Not feeling the scales on the bubble and card colors. Excellent review as always, my friend
I find that new figure magnificent.. I never had that He Man models, only the original 1983 He Man..but look great!! I love MOTU Origins line and I am collecting all them. MOTU VETERAN COLLECTOR SINCE 1984. SPAIN-EUROPE. WRITER - JOURNALIST.
I guess it's safe to assume that Mattel sacrificed the original spring punch feature so that Origins figures can be interchangeable. I'm not sure if that was worth the trade. One of my favorite things about vintage MOTU was that just about every figure had the ability to punch.
I think it was more to make them posable. If you look at the waist connection on an Origins toy, the leg side has a hexagonal peg that fits into a rotating piece in the torso. They could have spring loaded that piece to maintain both the punch feature and the interchangeability.
Things have changed since then I think the material Wears out too over time. I think cause of rubber. I put Vaseline in my rubber toys that has tires & Treads. keep them more moist over time & lasts longer.
I missed the comparission time with the Classics version. Anyway another great review and great figure, I hope we shall see it in masterverse line also.
Hey Dan, awesome review, as always. Cool figure, finally the power Punch action feature of the vintage figures ist back ;-) ps. There is a vintage version of Thunder Punch He-Man with a solid golden sword.
one thing Dan forgot to mention is BBTS no longer has him or king hiss. EE has them on back order. my king hiss is sitting in my pile of loot on BBTS but, i lost my thunderpunch he-man cause he came in before my payday
Really like this one , I do wonder if and when they get to saurod will they keep the spark gimmick as I don’t think any modern toys or figures are allowed that anymore 😮
Great review! Thank you! I like that they made an effort on the action feature. Personally, would've loved something electronic, with a flashing LED and a thunderclap sound effect, but this solution keeps the costs down.
I've been looking up vintage thunder punch He-mans on ebay, and it does seem like there were both a gold sword and orange sword variants. I know there were gold swords with a board game, but there are so many TPHMs out there that have a solid gold plastic sword with them that it seems like there must be something to it.
What honestly was the point in selling this action? They gutted the best aspect of it. Why didn't they just sell the accessories to this figure? Without the actual action feature, it's pointless to even own this. They could have at the very least put a small speaker in there that made the popping noise. It's like we're paying twice for the same thing.
I was wondering how they would pull this off. Plus the caps to the original one I seen it caused damaged to Many thunder punch he-mans. Any one remember cops & Crooks Line. I Have all those & They took caps back then.

i just found two at Target yesterday :) I had to own one since I saw how much they're going for on eBay now
This is a great figure and reinforces my belief that they should’ve kept most of the action features for this line. Thanks for the review, Dan!
Kinda weird that they’d remove the cap gun feature since this is a toy aimed at adult collectors.
i´m a little dispointed that is a deluxe, he came with just 3 assessories like the regular he man, he should came at least with an extra head and a extra hand
Am I the only one who thinks this is the best head so far inspired by the vintage look? It just looks almost bang on for me.
They painted the eyes and eyebrows properly this time

Now left is Laser Power, hopefully got more variants as in 200X series....
Don't hold your breath
You are so lucky! I am still hunting for thunder punch heman! I hate this sword though. I 3d printed my own. Retro color accurate too.

Loved the smell of the cap gun caps.
Great job, man! I think they did a great job on this figure and am glad they gave him his gold power sword. I'm definitely looking forward to what's in store for the rest of 2023 💯
Thunder punch is my 3rd favorite version of he man so great to see him in the line now
I actually like how the vintage one looked more powerful. almost like heman went super saiyan a little.
Was this released yet? I haven’t seen anything new at retail
I really appreciate you reviewing me and sharing with the world
On a serious note, I really wish he would have hit (no pun) sooner and been with the first rounds of deluxe figures. Not feeling the scales on the bubble and card colors.
Excellent review as always, my friend
I giggled the first time I tried the action feature. The sound made remember the smell the blast caps made.
“ It’s oddly satisfying “. Sorry, Dan. I had a laugh because the way you said it. But hey, I agree! It looks cool! 😆
Great review but you forgot to mention the mini comic!
I am really, really happy Mattel found a way to keep that pop action feature. Amazing!
Uhh, they really didn't
i used to have the original. Got it at a comic convention back in like 2001 i think.
So the back it just a solid chunk now?
I had the original. It was my favorite He-Man.
Vintage: He-Man took too many steroids
Origins: He-Man took just the right amount of steroids
I find that new figure magnificent.. I never had that He Man models, only the original 1983 He Man..but look great!!
I love MOTU Origins line and I am collecting all them.

Never had vintage one looks good can see grayskull upgrading him few paint decor extra be great
Im still hoping to get dragon blaster skeletor

I have not seen him in Canada yet. It may actually not come here until summer or so. Thanks Dan!
Cool toys collection 😎👍
Just got this yesterday
Let's hope they give Dragon Blaster Skeletor the squirting feature.
Nice looking figure.
Can't wait to get mine from BBTS, I have it on my pile of loot.
Shoulda done a comparison with the Classics version...
I wonder, could the harness from this figure fit on a Mastervers He-Man to make a Masterverse Thunderpunch He-Man?
I wish they would have used that action feature on whiplash, I think I would have made Whiplash a better figure
Things have changed since then I think the material Wears out too over time. I think cause of rubber. I put Vaseline in my rubber toys that has tires & Treads. keep them more moist over time & lasts longer.
I was just merely saying that since they're using it for Thunder Punch He-Man they could have used it for whiplash also
Duuude, if we are able to switch the arms, boots, and the armour, we are going to recreate a vintage acurate he man figure
“get these in Origins”? I take it you aren’t convinced that the End is Nigh? Dan? Any thoughts?
I missed the comparission time with the Classics version. Anyway another great review and great figure, I hope we shall see it in masterverse line also.
Sorry Dan, the Guru said no Motu in 2023 so this cant be real. lol
Excellent outstanding he man thunder punch action figure from Mattel... Of the origins line.
Good review as usual by Pixel Dan....
We have the power
The head Looks really good.
PD,.you got a voice made for radio!
Haven't been this one or any of the snake Men anywhere
This is great but prefer the vintage ....that one goes POP! 😆😅🤣🤣
Hey Dan, awesome review, as always. Cool figure, finally the power Punch action feature of the vintage figures ist back ;-)
ps.
There is a vintage version of Thunder Punch He-Man with a solid golden sword.
I loved the original sword that came with him
I hope he comes in the preorder 4 pack!
one thing Dan forgot to mention is BBTS no longer has him or king hiss. EE has them on back order. my king hiss is sitting in my pile of loot on BBTS but, i lost my thunderpunch he-man cause he came in before my payday
The sword needs to be yellow and translucent! Like the burst affect! Otherwise it's a great figure...I'm a huge fan of Thunder Punch He-Man.
They dropped the ball by not including a right griping hand. I would have gladly sacrificed the effect piece for it.
I just wished he had the translucent sword.
Was it possible for original Thunder Punch He-Man to catch fire? It's never happened to me.
From just using the action feature with the caps? No. If you covered him with lighter fluid first? Possibly.
Can't wait to order this. Still wonder when we're getting that Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Or those Laser Power/Light figures in Origins.
Dragon Blaster Skeletor is rumoured for the next deluxe wave, alongside Snake Face.
As the line is cancelled I don't think we'll be getting those snake troopers 🐍😕
Where do you get that the line is being cancelled from?
@@juancabeza5809 d'uh. Like, hello. Haven't you heard?
Dude is just joking.
😎👍
It's comparison time .... bring out vintage, classic mondo
I should be reviewing thunder punch Heman this week. Loved the original as a kid. It was the only heman I had in my motu figures
just give him his iconic vest armor do away with his orange armore it looks like fake adbirtidment With The Hollow cap feature
Really like this one , I do wonder if and when they get to saurod will they keep the spark gimmick as I don’t think any modern toys or figures are allowed that anymore 😮
Nope, they are considered a fire hazard.
Might just make a noise similar to this figure.
Unlikely to see Saurod IMO but if we're lucky enough to get him, I reckon he'll have a blast effect like Kobra Khan
You need to redo this video . Because of the slits in the back under the armor
I'm just glad to see a figure with the vintage Power Punch feature. Funny that it took Thunder Punch He-Man to do it.
A love nice
maby Lot of conan fans in there 40s was A HeMannCollector
with burn scars on skin
Just got mine today. What timing!
Great review! Thank you! I like that they made an effort on the action feature. Personally, would've loved something electronic, with a flashing LED and a thunderclap sound effect, but this solution keeps the costs down.

Despite the disappearance of the gimmick, Mattel had a good idea to put a spring.
Can't wait to get mine, my package is on the way \o/
Love this version of He-Man
new featur is child proof
There is a large toy show in ohio, would you like to go?
What honestly was the point in selling this action?
They gutted the best aspect of it.
Why didn't they just sell the accessories to this figure?
Without the actual action feature, it's pointless to even own this.
They could have at the very least put a small speaker in there that made the popping noise.

Are you going to comment on the end of the line or is scott full of crap your the one person I really want to hear from
Dan seems to think it’s not ending. He may know more than anyone
He already addressed it on Twitter: "You don't need to send me the video. It's not true."
Didn't preorder this because I wasn't sure what the action feature would be, but I think this one is now a must buy!
I was wondering how they would pull this off. Plus the caps to the original one I seen it caused damaged to Many thunder punch he-mans. Any one remember cops & Crooks Line. I Have all those & They took caps back then.
Thunder punch He-Man without the caps? Origins missed the mark on this one. Very disappointing
Fake thunder punch if it’s not vintage, I don’t want it
My Favorite He-Man😢 , but I’m not sure why this is Deluxe he doesn’t do anything. I get why no action feature but I’m still bummed.
Lame figure. Caps or bust.
Gi-Joe > MOTU.
First to comment!😁
