The goal was to identify villains that present the entire X-Men team with a challenge versus those that might be difficult for a team member or two. Let me know what you think of my picks.

We also tap into the larger knowledge base of the comic book community during frequent live streams were we interview collectors that have been in the hobby for a few months to a few decades.
There are very few places on the internet (or elsewhere) where tons of quality comic book information is gathered in one place.

I'm adding honorable mentions: Shadow King, The Brood, and Omega Red. In all honesty though when the X-Men are brought into the MCU I really hope Sinister is the main villian. Apocalypse and Magneto have been done, but Sinister would be such a fun character to start out with and then build off of as the movies continue. Great video Regie and wishing you the best in the CBC Awards coming up!!!!

I feel like 1st Nimrod & 1st Sinister don't get the love they deserve because they aren't featured on the covers. Both are great books, but I feel like that holds them back from being MAJOR keys.
Sinister easily the most under appreciated villain in the marvel universe.
wait till he gets his mcu appearance...that book will see its day.

I've always liked the blob, arcade, gladiator(imperial guard) and dark phoenix.
Good list my man, but how did you forget Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Shadowking and Onslaught? Bro, those characters back in the day??? Shredded the X-Men.
There are a couple I would add to your list how about Legion and Stryfe? Also another very powerful Mutant that turns into a villain Onslaught! That is a great of books that lead to the reveal of the character! Also that X-men 1 is a beautiful book! Love the X-men and just today posted my X-men 25 in a Newstand!

Great stuff bro! I don't have the first appearance of Mr. Sinister, but I do have his first cover appearance on X-Men 239. Several months back, I picked up a Greece variant that features X-Men 14 and a Captain America story inside from my LCS. The cover is of X-Men 14, but with different colors. Magneto is my favorite X-Men villain. I wish I had his first appearance, but I'm thrilled to have a CGC 9.8 of Issue #1 of the 1991 series.
Those sound like some great books to read and relax to while drinking coffee and listening to the blues
I was surprised to see Nimrod at position #1, but I do agree he belongs on the list.
Would have liked to see Sauron, and Arcade on there maybe.
Honorable Mention: Emma Frost
High Five for excluding Omega Red. Although I like the villain, Wolverine seems to do a decent job of handling him solo.
They are lot rank ordered. 🤣😂
Finally, I have all seven of the books on your list! For the original team, I would have added the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from #4 (yes, they are lead by Magneto, but…) and Sauron from #60 as an Honorable Mention. For the new team, definitely the Hellfire Club (okay #129-132), the Marauders #211 (1st full), and of course, Mystique (Ms. Marvel #18 - 1st full).
Great mentions! I love me some Sauron. The Hellfire one is interesting (one of my favorite story arcs of all time), they manipulated Jean (Phoenix) to be the villain the rest of the X-Men couldn’t handle. I know Shaw and White Queen are formidable opponents as well but what a dynamic that whole saga was!

I guess they don't count, being a race rather than singular foe, but always liked 'the Brood'
I agree with most of the list. Pretty solid list indeed. I would have also mentioned Bastion since Nimrod and the Sentinels was on the list. I would have also added Unus the untouchable on the list. Granted, another bad read. But is powerful enough to deal with whole team. As an honorable mention, I would add the living monolith.

great list! Honestly, there are so many, it had to be tough narrowing it down. Marauders would have been on mine, but compared to the ones you've got, they were really just a flash in the pan. Great stuff!
Xmen 12 and 14 has to be on the list for sure

I feel x men 15 is super slept on besides the fact is the sentinels 2nd appearance is the 1st appearance of master mold

I'm trying to win an auction that has X-men number 1 through 8! The run from the 90's.
Update: I won them, minus the #7. Because it was an auction, probably paid to much, but hey, they're back in my collection. That's all that matters to me.
Agree with all your choices. Definitely sentinels belongs. How about Phoenix ? Maybe Onslaught and Cassandra Nova honorable mention.

Fantastic selection! If I was going to add one honorable mention to the list, it would be Rougue, but primarily because of her significance to the X movies.
Shadow King should be on the list.
Friends Of Humanity (F.O.H.), the MCU X-Men version should start off with that storyline before any big bad X-Men villains appear (besides Magneto), lest in the post or end credit scenes so that they can build up the X-Men sequels and sagas for many years to come.

So, it took me a while to get the villains that the X has had real issues with. So, I got these heavy hitters:
Proteus- Uncanny X-Men #126
Emplate- Generation X #1
S'ym- Uncanny X-Men #160
Holocaust/ Nemesis- X-Men Alpha #1
Uranus- What If #24
1 million percent agree with the Sentinels being a top X-Men villain. A personal favorite of mines too. I think this separates the cartoon fans from the reading fans. I think cartoon fans would see the sentinels as weak because of the way they were portrayed getting sliced up in every episode. Readers would know that every endgame scenario for the X-Men involves the Sentinels roaming the planet.
Also Danger (Danger Room AI)
That's what I love about Sinister, he is first and foremost a biological scientist. Calling him a doctor is not even describing him correctly. Because of that, there is probably so much unknown about what he is capable of purely from all the experimentation and modifications he has done to himself alone. Which he would keep unknown to anyone for that purpose. Super under used villain in Marvel in general
I think.Cameron Hodge needs to be on the list. He started out as an X-Factor villian but morphed into an X-Men villian with X-tinction Agenda and of course Madelyn Pryor/Goblin Queen
I debated Cameron Hodge. Love that story arc with him.
Personally, I try to collect every good Magneto story in comic or trade form. He’s my favorite Marvel character… and he’s hot. 😆
Definitely consider the sentinels as top tier x-men Villains.

Moses Magnum!
You mentioned the top tear of commonly known X-Men vilians. There are some other ones that have given the X-Men very real issues. Firelord? Moses Magnum? Hellfire Club? Mojo? The New Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (remember what they did to Colossus?). Thanks for all you do for the community sir!
Onslaught and there’s a lot of evidence he might make his appearance on the new animated X-men cartoon next year
I would say you missed out on mentioning Mystique. She was the head of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants at one point so she is to me a quintessential Xmen villain
Just my opinion but I don’t see here being a challenge for the entire X-Men roster. Do you?

It's funny everyone mentioned (sans sentinels/nimrod of course) has done good and worked with the X-men at one time. Who is even currently the big bad for the X-men? I haven't been able to read a book since zero tolerance....!! That in it's self was a hard read. Only kind of curious about the whole Rogue going crazy arch that I heard about. Love the characters but.......where are the good stories?! If Marvel sees this can I have a go? Clairemont might approve ;p

Great list, I would only disagree on the Sentinels since they are more of a weapon as opposed to an adversary to the X-Men. I just feel in order to be an enemy they would need to have their own sentience and more importantly their own agenda.

The x-men animated show got me into comics and has a special place in my heart and I’ve got 3 of those books but x-men 1 isn’t one of them but I’m not jealous not all 😡
