Been watching a ton of these videos, and FINALLY someone (you) showed me the lateral play in the bad CV joint compared to none in the new one! THANK YOU!
You are welcome 🙏 glad I could help!
Great idea keeping the brake/rotor assembly in one piece. It saves time
Thank you for the great feedback! It sure saves time this way.
This video helped me a lot. I was trying to separate the ball joint on the steering arm and this method bypasses that completely. VERY HELPFUL, thank you!
Glad to hear that this vid helped! You are welcome 🙏
Thanks a lot for excellent presentation. Very straightforward replacement move. Very timely for me cause I' replacing my right trans oil seal. I tried initially removing the axle today but was confused from other you tuber.
You are welcome! I am glad my video helped.
THANKS JACKIE!!! GOOD VIDEO
Thanks for this video. My 2007 Odyssey has the clicking/clunking sound when I do a hard turn going from a dead start to acceleration.
You’re welcome!
Awesome detailed video thank you for your time and knowledge, best wishes
It is always a pleasure!! Thank you 🙏
Thanks for making this video. Just tried to put a aftermarket driver side CV axel to my 2008 Ody EX. The inner side was okay but the outside shaft was a totally different story. I could never push the shaft into the hub (not even a bit) and decided to get a genuine Honda part instead. The OEM part I was able to push a little bit in (with antiseize as well) and use rubber hammer to further force it in more. After I can put the nut on. I used power tool to finish the job. Never thought the most difficult part was putting the shaft back into the hub though. Will try passenger side next week and hopefully I don't need to get another OEM this time (fingers crossed).
Interesting! I didn’t run into that same issue and I have used an aftermarket axel. At times the splines on the axle or the hub shaft gets nicked or dirty. These will for sure prevent you from getting it in the hub
I had an issue with a AutoZone passenger side it would not go in to the hub. I returned it I don’t think they gave me the right one to be honest but then I checked online a lot of people had this issue. Went to Napa and got one went right in.
Beautiful puppy and thank you for the great video which is very helpful
Thank you 🙏
Dude. You look like Hideo Kajima. Awesome video btw. Good job 😊
😂 I will take that as a compliment! Hideo is such an iconic figure in the video gaming industry. Thanks for liking my video I am glad it could be of service.
Thank for putting the video
@Robert Flory you are welcome! I am glad I could help.
Great video sir.
Thank you 🙏
I can believe he is using a adjustable wrench instead a 7/8 wrench
Absolutely that had me going nuts easy way to strip out that damn
Bolt
Doing this tomorrow
When it comes to removing a nut and bolt combo why do people always impact the bolt side even when there's enough room to do the nut side? That impact would have broken that nut loose on the shock hardware
2007 odyssey I took nut off put penatrating oil then hit it to loosing shaft then loosen everything up there's play no worries
I'm having a hard time getting the axle back into the transmission. That part is so annoying 😑
I never knew that grease on the outside could be caused by bad ball joints. I think my 06 Ridgeline has this issue because there's alot of grease on the transmission housing and no viable tears or lose metal clamp. Surprisingly it only has 110k miles.
As you explained your issue...Sounds like you will need transaxle seal replacement.
Buenas tardes cuál es la medida de la triceta del lado izquierdo de una Odyssey honda 2004
Anyone else surprised that the battery powered impact wrench was able to loosen the axle nut when the actual air tool couldn't? I thought the air tools had WAAAAAAAY more torque than the battery powered tools?
I was so surprised as well! Those Milwaukee tools are great. They are expensive, but well worth the price.
Not surprised at all. My Ridgid impact takes off axle nuts with ease. I think the issue was the air compressor he was using didn't sound at all like it was pushing enough cfm to run his impact. Normally that wouldn't be an issue for air tools.
@@RL82 you are totally right! 😅 right after, I realize my air compressor was off and didn’t have enough air in that tank. Made it even worse my torque setting is not all the way up. 😂
I bought a AC powered beast from Harbor Freight, the Bauer 1/2-inch impact driver. And.. wow, it can loosen anything. Spun off the crankshaft bolt without blinking... But, it's big, heavy, and a well, a beast. Under $100
I've seen one of the new kobolt ½impacts wring the head off a hub bolt
Could shaking under acceleration particularly under load be a side effect of bad cv?
That could be one of the possible symptoms. The best way to check is to visually and physically inspect your cv axles.
@@JNBTuning alright thank you
thx! honda or 3rd party part you used/
You are welcome! It was an aftermarket part used
Is this what causes the clicking sound when turning the wheel?
Yes
With the outer joint being bad it makes the clicking sound when you turn. The inner usually makes some wobbling or vibrating feel and sound.
What kind of Milwaukee tool was that?
@@patricialimberakis3648 half inch impact a very high torque one
I did that today
What fluid was leaking out of the axle?
It is the transition fluid
Is this leak normal during the replacement .. is this a sign/an issue with the seal .. I am looking to do mine
@@malhaarlive9037 yeah, it’s normal. It’s tranny fluid. So it’ll leak out. Gotta replace and then top off the fluid
@@easygoingday8980 thanks .. I am done .. no oil leaked out for me .. I had ordered OEM part but it did not come with the axle nut (242 torque) so used the old one .. will that be an issue in your opinion ? I guess I can order the nut from Amazon
@@malhaarlive9037 I think the seal was bad all the other videos I have seen say if you see oil been leaking past that seal replace the seal also.
How much time to do this?
Give it couple of hours depending on your situation. For me given staging and filming it take the whole day. 😅
Thank you
What kind of milwaukee tool is that?
The half inch impact
@@JNBTuning Thanks.
Loved the video. Music is awful. Way too loud. Had to play with the volume buttons constantly.
Thank you for your input! Others is my only way to know what to improve upon. Much appreciated!
first take out the entire caliper and curl it on the coil spring with a hook
Not at all necessary and would just be a waste of time.
I could take it is the first time you did the job you your not doing well
Bro u gotta turn off your crappy back ground music in tryna learn to fix my car . It's annoying.... Omg
Thanks for the feedback bro. I will definitely take your honest suggestion and keep it in consideration. I just want to be a little different than a lot of the dry How-To DIY vids out there. I figure incorporate some music to be entertaining as well so you don’t hear me talk all the way through specially in a montage parts where I speed up on a simple self explanatory and repetitive stuff.
