Followed your video step by step and only took me 2 hours . I'm 62 so I guess that's not a bad time . Thanks for your help. { No old people were hurt during the installation of my CV axle.}
This guy saved me some time on taking the axle out the other videos of popping the ball joints out is not the way to go! I find just removing the caliper and hanging it off out of way and not worrying about speed sensor are two changes I made that worked fine!
Fantastic video! Thank you! A couple things I encountered - I could not remove the speed sensor, but by removing the clip behind the knuckle, it gave me enough slack. Also, I had to jack the van higher than normal to get a better angle for my pry bar. Even then I found I could only pry at the scalloped area of the axle. It kept slipping off. So I raised the other wheel just enough to rotate it a little. This rotated the axle just enough that I could get a better grip when prying. It popped right out after that.
Thank you so much. Your video was very useful. My cv axle went out yesterday on the way to work. Following your video was informative. And made making the job a lot faster.
wow ! if it wasn’t rainy all week, i might have try doing it myself. Your video is awesome ! thanks also, i’m curious to know how much “they” usually charge for this kind of job !? thanks
@@ilmirGareev88 I just re watched the video. The dielectric grease acts as a lubricant so the seal and cv axle slide in easier. Don't use anti-seize on the inner axle splines.
You shouldn't need an alignment. There isn't a camber adjustment on the struts. They are unbolted and rebolted back in the same place. So nothing gets out of alignment. If you are replacing the struts with new ones then an alignment would be a good idea 👍
Hey James, thanks for your comment. Removing the ball joint is another way to tackle this repair. No alignment is needed after removing the lower strut bolts 👍. There is no camber adjustment on these vans. The toe is not affected as the bolts can only line up one way. So it goes back together exactly how it came apart just like removing the ball joint 👍

Thank you. Great video. Can't wait to see the next one
Thank you, very helpful
@@abdurahimomer2816 You're welcome 👍
Thank you. Great job.
Great informative video, could also do a strut replacement while at it and change the sway bar links
It was very helpful thanks
Great Video. I like using that screw driver trick when i torque the axle nut
I did that and broke my screwdriver shaft in half I freaked out I thought I messed up the rotor and caliper
Best to loosen axle nut while tire on and someone applying brake while on ground

Depending on where you live and the shop's hourly rate you can expect around $300-$500.
Part number for the seal? I need to replace mine after not seating the CV shaft enough.
please tell me what kind of grease and where did you apply it?
@@ilmirGareev88 Links are in the description. I believe I just put some on the inner shaft splines. You can use anti-seize for the outer splines 👍
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive thank you very much, but what is the dielectric grease from the description for?

Thanks!
You're welcome! Glad this was helpful 👍
I put the new cv axle, but is dripping oil, need the ring right?
First make sure it's seated all the way in. If it is still leaking then yes a new transmission output shaft seal is needed.

I went for wheel alignment, told if I use your method I need redo alignment

Lmao I didn’t van rode nicely and didn’t have a problem
Your van might have already needed a alignment
Should take apart lower ball joint to do this job. That way you don't have to do an alignment!

How do you figure this will make for an alignment? I followed his video to replace my cv axle and it worked great. And I didn’t need a alignment
