Great review🤝🏾. Never liked the new Hilux design but the Legend 50 was a peace maker. The aspect of ownership cost is a nice touch. R20k/m for a used car is no a Legend tho.

Isn't the Toyota Hilux (all models, especially the Legend 50 and the GR-S) the most stolen or hijacked bakkie in South Africa? I know someone on the East coast whose' s Legend 50 was stolen and never recovered. Probably got send across the border to a neighboring country or North Africa.
Good review BTW. The Hilux is the best bakkie in SA. Even with the factory being closed last year for over five months with no production due to the flooding, Toyota still sold double the number of Hilux units compared to Ford and the other brands.

Yes and No.
Legend 50 is just a badge to celebrate 50 years of Toyota. They do it every 5 years.
There'll be a Legend 55, 5 years after the Legend 50.
You'll be able to buy the exact same Hilux GD6 without the Legend badge today, unless you wait for the Legend 55.
Maybe a Led or Infotainment upgrade for each model as they evolve, but the vehicle is still the same body and motor.
The GD6 is with us until Toyota comes up with a new platform. They've been selling this model since 2016 already.
I can't see any changes in the short to medium term as these Toyotas are very popular.
You'd need to ask Toyota that question, but doubt they'll reveal a new platform to the man on the street, it'll be intellectual property until the release date.
No matter how cool ranger is but Hilux would still outsell it.
