This video is such a treat! The way you’ve captured the unique wildlife and landscapes of Northern Queensland is absolutely mesmerizing. The blend of overlanding adventure and PBS-style storytelling is both nostalgic and engaging. The Wet Tropics look like an incredible destination, and your respect for the natural world shines through. Beautifully filmed and an absolute joy to watch - can’t wait for Part II! 🦘🌴🚙
I love how your sense of awe comes through in your videos. It's like, "Do you guys not understand how freakin' cool this place/bird/plant/etc. is?" And yet you still somehow come across as totally laid back about it. It's such a vibe.
No higher praise than that. LOL sometimes I ask Owen when I'm done writing these scripts... is it TOOOOOO nerdy?! But I just can't help it! The world is such a wondrous place!
That's a really cool rig. It's really awesome you have access to these resources to continue the expeditions. Really glad you take us along and it's good to see a little more of Owen. He seems to be enjoying time in front of the camera a little more. ✌✌
How awesome to see an upload from you two!! Even more awesome, you're in Australia 😮 Sweet! 😊 I am so glad they have crocodile free areas!! You know how excited I was watching all the magic!! Such cool birds, magnificent waterfalls! Ok ok..that Fig tree!! 😮😮😮
Super sad we missed you guys! It's so beautiful seeing footage that does the Curtain Fig justice, it is so hard to capture its beauty, so much to take in. Stunning video. We can't wait to see the rest of the series. :)
Loved this! We had a very "close call" driving a car in Ireland in a round about!! Stunning views, photography and drone footage. Wow. We had no idea there were that many different birds in Australia. The fig tree. Incredible. Very cool rig to see this amazing country! - Jim & Michelle
I have the feeling this could/should/would have made a strong three or four part series if you’d have had more time on the ground in AU. Great first episode!
I couldn’t agree more! Two weeks was never going to be enough time. And for reference, when we film a 5 part series we tend to film for a month or more. This was also the first thing we ever filmed entirely on Fuji so there was a high rate of attrition on the clips during early filming
Amazing video!! I ❤ the birds- each one is so unique. That strangler fig tree is awesome-even if it does start out as a murderer!! Looking forward to the next video!
Oh man, I feel robbed! I was going to settle in with tea and snacks for an hour-long movie afternoon about Australia and then saw it's just 11 minutes! 😅 Still enjoyed it though but totally could have spent an hour watching this! 🙂

HA if it was that long it would have taken us a year to make! Part two is a bit longer! See you next week but still glad you enjoyed it!
Was that the infamous, Australian poison painted turtle?
Oh lord that never crossed our mind! I feel like I should look that up!
@BoundForNowhere I just made it up... But then again, it's Australia! Lol 🤷🏻
Rock pigeon was new to the list?😂
Really funny you mention that. I feel like the "everyday" birds are so easy to forget to record. I laughed so hard as I added that one!
@ so true but glad you added the old friend to the list.

I’m pretty sure I seen your husband, in a Apple commercial
I wish! Sadly, as far as I know, he has yet to star in an Apple commercial!
