I'm not comparing talents directly, but in terms of output, Albarn is a proliferate as Prince. Just creativity flowing out of him all the time in many different facets. Incredible person.
That final sentence of his in this portrait is so brilliant because ofcourse he isn't, being a brilliant artist, but at the same time deep down inside he probably is. And he knows it. I can really relate to that. One of my favorite artists ever.
Thank you for uploading this! I watched it years ago and only ever found it on vimeo, so glad it’s on here now. Being from Essex myself, and spending a lot of time in Colchester, it’s always so wonderful hearing Damon talk about it and seeing him back there. I grew up in a village too and totally understand the feeling he was trying to explain. It’s not loneliness, it’s not being introverted, it’s a strange type of isolation where you know everyone and everyone knows you and not having many people your age around. I loved it though, it was quintessentially English and it’s nice to see Damon appreciated that too.
Damen . I also was Leytonstone boy before your time . Hollow ponds. Had to move at 9. It truly done me in. The community there was magical. I went to Davies lane school. Grew up with the Ross family. But . My saying this. Leytonstone. Is unique. Look at its past talents.!! So so many. Thank you for this video. You was touched by Leytonstone. That I respect . 😊🕊👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼❤️
I walked through Ford street with a rambling group recently and am from Wivenhoe myself. Used to take family dog to a kennel around the corner in the 80s. It’s a very small world.
@quillan7743 Yes, his first big"bucks" came definitely from the success of notoriously black-influenced music such as Parklife and Song 2. C'mon man... read a bit
Seeing those pictures of Damon with his dad hurts so much now. RIP Keith Albarn
love how he just pulls down his t-shirt instead of pulling up his pants. Damon in his natural habitat.
😭🙏

There's something so adorable about him I don't even know what
Maybe his sincerity and being himself wherever he speaks…

I like how a middle-aged man is just casually walking around in a weed hat.
Best interview to Albarn. This album is a masterpiece.

Funny how he had no ethnic intercity mates until he was middle aged man he hated black music until he could make a buck from it.
What? Why would you say that? That's nonsense.
He grew up in East London, lol. So this is just plain wrong.
He grew up in an area where it was mostly POCS...
