    use USMC molle saw pouches and you can put 6 full mags in 1 pouch

    You are certainly not gonna be carrying a rucksack with all that crap bolted to the back of your vest... it's gonna make your ruck stick way out, it's gonna dig whatever pouches into your back, and it's generally just gonna suck to even try. Yes, I own multiple styles of rucks and a full set of ALICE gear, and yes, I have tried it.

    Your heart is in the right place bro but you obviously watched SilentThunder85’s Alice gear video and tried to duplicate it’s content.

      After several attempts at searching for "SilentThunder85", I was unable to find any youtuber posting by that name. I guess he's gone.

    Run the straps on the back of the butt pack they the D rings on the back of the LBV. Keeps the pack from sliding down and scrunching up on the Alice clips.

    You shouldn't drink from the canteens, rather you should use them to fill your camelbak. Just for noise discipline you don't want to be walking around with water sloshing in your canteens. But I really enjoyed the video thanks for uploading!

    • @theundergroundmilitia2977
      @theundergroundmilitia2977  10 лет назад +1

      Thank you for mentioning that. I should have noted in the video, that i meant you would only drink from the canteens on your web gear if separated from your rucksack/Camelback. This is the exact reason I would never put a one quart canteen on my rucksack. I have heard of 1 quart collapsible canteens that let you squeeze out the air like the two quarts, but I have yet to find any. I am glad you enjoyed, and I will be posting more content in the future, if I am able to help out just a handful of people get squared away, then that is an accomplishment to me.
      Regards, Hunter.

      The Underground Militia
      I've been looking for a vest for a little while now. I've looked at these ones just because they are so reasonable. Would you recommend this LBV?
      I think I've decided to pick up just the regular Woodland MOLLE vest w/the two buckles and zipper. I think it will work better for what I want and seems more convenient being able to switch the loadout for the scenario. But I have still been looking into this as a "hand me out" piece of kit.
      I'll have to keep my eyes out for those canteens.

    • @theundergroundmilitia2977

      shaydeinsun I would, but only if used in conjunction with the pistol belt, without that, the LBV falls short very quick. But honestly, it all depends on what you will be doing. ALICE gear is rugged, readily available, and cheap as dirt. MOLLE gear is more made for the modern battlefield, where you are re-supplied often, and operate in urban environments. ALICE is for the "boonie rats" where you live out of your gear. Also, the FLC (MOLLE vest) is somewhat uncomfortable by itself, due to the fact that it has no shoulder padding at all, as it is meant to go over body armor systems.
      The MOLLE pouches are generally a lot more expensive, and are usually in the UCP (digital) camouflage. Gross.
      In short, if I had to do an extended stay ruckmarch in the boondocks, ALICE.
      If I had to sweep in and clear a building, go MOLLE.
      And please tell me if you find a reliable seller for collapsible 1 quart canteens.
      Regards, Hunter

    • @shaydeinsun
      @shaydeinsun 10 лет назад

      The Woodland FLC's are pretty reasonable, you can find them for about the same price as you can those LBV's on Ebay. Granted thats on Ebay I would imagine they are far more expensive in a surplus store.
      Yea the MOLLE pouches are really expensive sometimes, luckily the woodland camo USGI stuff seems to be cheaper.
      The biggest issue with the LBV (in my head) is that it doesn't seem like it gives you enough ammunition if you were ever in a combat situation.

    • @theundergroundmilitia2977
      @theundergroundmilitia2977  10 лет назад

      shaydeinsun Thats why I always carry two extra triple magazine pouches on my non-dominant side, then maybe one on my other side. That is 12-15 mags, plus one in the gun. Then, you might consider getting a 200 round SAW gunner's pouch, which will hold about 6 extra magazines. On a personal note, I always carry enough ammunition in my rucksack to refill my fighting load once. On my personal rigs, I have on every single one the capability for 12-16 mags, plus one in the gun, and I carry two mags on a MOLLE grop extender on my pants belt, in case i must ditch my LBV for some reason.
      Regards, Hunter

      Darkbeats Kivler they are on amazon. Made by Blackhawk.
      Be advised they are pretty worthless. Just use zip ties for pouches or 550 cord. Even with the standard metal clips it doesn’t dig in.

    What's with all these boomers giving you advice as though they were expecting anyone to use outdated LBE in any "combat senario"-- or whatever they think?
    Most I've ever heard of these being used are either for LARPing or for hiking.
