I wondered what happened to you Jared Mills. I always wondered why you and Bill Winke left Midwest Whitetails. I could sense tension between you and Mike Reed and possibly Owen had something to do with it. Anyway, glad to see you posting videos. I'm doing the same thing myself as a solo RUclipsr. It is tough to self film by yourself. I know first hand from doing videos. Keep grinding man. I'm going to do the same thing. Eventually our channels will get attention. God bless from Trent Gunnell Georgia Exposure.
that buck shocked me also..rite after gun season during daylight to be walking around an open picked field...very very odd but great footage and he made thru gun season so hopefully you get the sheds or shed.. he looks like the kind of buck i can see having a lot of junk on that rack nxt yr..
Is that the same tree you harvested your buck from earlier this season? It's funny to watch deer when they hear a squirrel start up. Excellent hunt good luck.
DUDE I got news for you you ain't gonna kill that deer, he knows how to camo himself he's got branches and sh!t on himself, that next level ninja stuff, 🤪good luck buddy, he'll be bigger next year
Man, what a bruiser!!! Solid 170s and still looks to be well over 200 lbs, even that late in the year. I really hope you track him down, so we can hear his stats.
Glad to see your vedio, been awhile. Always enjoy your demeanor. You have all the tools to be the next Ted Miller! That's a compliment! Keep up the great work.
You definitely need more hats, and a Heater Body Suit. I sat dark to dark a few weeks ago, wind chill single digits, and never got cold. It's an amazing piece of gear that lets you hunt long hours in the bitter cold.
Jared, you are a good hunter and do a great job of videoing. I appreciate your dedication to bowhunting. I am a bowhunter who started several years before the word "compound" bow, and tree stands was even an idea. My buddies and I used recurves, and Bear razor heads glued on wooden shafts. Occasionally we killed a deer, and the thrill was something that could not be verbally expressed. It had to be the experienced. I have never lost the desire to bow hunt and now a days I hunt with a compound bow from treestands, or ground blinds, and enjoy it immensely. It is much easier now to be successful and selective in what I choose to shoot. Keep up the good work and we'll keep watching! (Sorry for the lengthy comment). Trom Tennessee.
For this late season, when deer are typically easier to film compared to the rut, I chose to take my Sony a7siii. It's more challenging to self film with but produces great footage. In the near future, I'm going to create some videos going through all of this (cameras, gear, setups, etc). Hopefully that will address any questions you might have. Thanks for watching.
That intro walk in was pretty comical with it sounding like you walking on broken glass. It's hard this time of year on many different aspects and when the ground sounds like that you usually don't get that warm and fuzzy feeling. That buck doesn't know how lucky he was and might of used up one of his lives. Keep after them and you will get him or a bigger one. Be safe out there.
No doubt Bill. Late season is just plain tough, for lots of reasons like you said. Granted, there are things that a guy can do to make it easier but in general it's very difficult. Thanks for watching!
Jared was that buck getting down wind of you when he went in up to your left? He was paying alot of attention to that squirrel barking so I was just curious if that's where he was slowly going? Bow guy here two!
Hey Bryan- no he wasn't heading downwind, not 100% sure where he was going but that seemed to be a pretty common movement for them. He was really paying attention to that squirrel but it was so far back there that my best guess was that it was another deer it was barking at. Appreciate you watching!
Keep the camera rolling best content out there I bet you kids love it when you tell the stories you definitely know how to make it feel like we're in the stand with you thanks for sharing your adventures
Awesome hunt! Thank you for including part of your access route. I spent a lot of years disregarding how I walked to and from my stand. Now it’s as important to me as wind direction and weather. Looking forward to the upcoming videos!
For sure. To me it's even more critical this time of year with no vegetation/cover left and deer that have been pressured for months now. You just can't get away with much. Thanks for watching!

That was a good video high quality footage and a deer I’m looking forward to seeing more videos of. I also love seeing someone have a passion for bow hunting even when they could take a muzzle loader.
I'd say 40, maybe 45 if everything was perfect. This time of year I'd have a hard time shooting past that. Following all the pressure from the gun seasons, the deer are on edge even more it seems. There's just so much that can happen with the deer's body position on those longer shots that it becomes a guessing game. Even at the shorter distances, it can be tough on alert deer.

Glad you are back Jared, quick question? What is the green fleece looking too you are wearing in the opening sequence? It looks very, very warm and comfortable
Hey BowNut- it's one that I got from Cabela's a number of years ago. It is Cabelas brand but my guess is that they don't make it anymore. I just did a quick search and couldn't find it. It's definitely warm, and allows me to not wear too many other layers.
Hey Jared , love your content. You are one of my favorite hunters to watch. I also am a bow hunter addict . I was hoping you might be able to give me some advice. I am wanting to film my hunts , what can I buy that won't break the bank but also worth buying?

Thanks man. Yeah, it's all relative to your area and it also comes down to each person's goals. For me, and my area, I'd say a 5.5 year old is a good goal for someone that wants the challenge of taking a mature buck. There's enough of them that it's realistic to have a shot at one, but not so many of them that it's easy. In other parts of the country, that age could be 3.5.
