One of these walked out in front of me while I was leaving work at dusk in my Honda CRV in Irvine, PA. It was most definitely taller than my vehicle. I was confused for a moment as I knew it wasn't a deer or a moose. Then it dawned on me. They supposedly are not in that area. Guess the experts were wrong because I know what was less than 20 feet in front of me. The rack and coloring are unmistakable.
Got a cabin in snowshoe and we come to your neck of the woods everytime we are up there. Love watching those bulls and cows. Do y'all collect the sheds?
We made the trip to Benezette PA recently, about a 4 hour drive. We were not disappointed. We saw a lot of Elk. It was a bucket list trip at the beautiful Parker Dam State park. There was only one at the visitor center in the morning, but a herd showed up in the afternoon. Good video.
I live in northern bucks as well. I also have a cabin out in center county where these elk are. I get a chance to get up with in 20 yards of these monsters. Benezette is the best place to see these elk up and close
Benezette pa for sure. It looks like the bulls fighting are at the Elk center in Benenzette. My uncle used to own that place before it was sold so I spent many weekends out there.
@@Pickle_Productions11 it’s crazy to me that PA has a large elk population but no cougars. I have a feeling cougars are still out there. They found a cougar in Connecticut so you never know. Any stories of seeing one?
The last Elk in Pennsylvania was killed in 1877 in Centre County, PA according to historical records. The PA game commission reintroduced them in 1913 from herds of Rocky Mountain Elk transported from Yellowstone National Park.
Sir, I have been regularly following your videos.. They are just wow !! All videos/photographs are great 👌👌👌 Sir, I'm using Nikon D750 and captures macro especially insects. Can u please help me which lens and teleconvertors arr best for shooting wildlife especially birds with Nikon D750 (full frame)? Presently, I'm confused between nikon 200-500 and new Tamron 150-600 G2 I hope u will clear my doubts🙏
Early 1900's and there's only 1400? Doesn't seem quite right? They were reintroduced in the Smokey Mountains State Park on the NC-TN boarder back in the late 1980's and the population has kind of exploded from there. The park is federal and closed to all hunting but they have since expanded and moved into surrounding lands in NC, TN and GA that I'm sure of. Possibly AL and VA? Enough so that limited hunting is now being allowed in selected areas.
The herd is purposefully managed to that size. They don’t want elk free roaming everywhere in PA. KY and TN was easy because there was so much remote reclaimed strip mines. That doesn’t really exist in PA,and where they are is pretty much the only wilderness big enough to support them.

I mean, Irvine isn’t that far out of their current range. It is easily possible that one got pushed or went on a walkabout.
Granted, if u google “elk range” many websites don’t include PA at all so I think their range in PA isn’t well understood.
This is absolutely fantastic!
thanks so much!
Holy moly, the antlers on that one bull.
Fabulous Video Harry! Keep them coming!
Thanks Deborah!
Love it I live in Frenchville pa in the woods and see these awsome animals all the time gotta love it

I’m in New Jersey, where in PA can I go to definitely see some elk? I’d love to see them in their own habitat.
Northcentral PA, Elk co, Tioga co, northern Clearfield co@@Felis-Concolor
Amazing video, great footage!
Amazing video of my amazing elk! Thank you!!
That monster bull is not on vacation.. he is using every bit of those massive antlers... video quality is fantastic....

Thank you! The past couple of years have been way down in activity compared to years prior but it’s still one of the best places to see elk for sure
Amazing footage!
Great content
Cool videos! I love it!

Beautiful
Thank you!
Would we see any of this in late February if we go?
You may see some elk but nothing like this. Fall is best.
I’m pretty sure the elk at 2:17 is the same one I have video of. That thing was a monster.
If you do I believe that it was killed and is the state record
How many are in PA?👍
When were elk reintroduced to PA?
In the early 1900s. Somewhere around 1913 I believe.

Do all Pennsylvania elk have such wonky racks? Think that’s awesome!
Is this in “elk” county
how huge is it!?-

I think you may be a little misled - wildlifeinformer.com/elk-population-by-state/ ...a few hundred at most in those states.
These were reintroduced much earlier, and there is much less suitable habitat in PA compared to the Appalachians.
