Good luck homie, make it look sexy
Yachty: I do the best business
Joe: Do you have a 360 deal
Yachty: I don't know
Tinuola Victoria he makes the best jokes imo lol
Tinuola Victoria you can't just not bring up the positives he named but name the negative
they're right, being loud doesn't always mean anger. but Budden? he's ANGRY!
This bump in the whip tho.
W
one day ill figure out where that comes from, then later stumble upon this and laugh. thanks
@@porkfriedrice1530 Did you?
@porkfriedrice1530 did u figure it out yet?
Somebody bring Lil Yachty's ass to DEHH , that would be entertaining as fuck!
Raphael Carmo nahh I'm tired of this trash nigga getting publicity....
killaman227 W
Cant wait for myke to shit on the new Logic album lmao
Adequate I doubt he'll shit on it, he's never shit on logic
Adequate he won't shit on it but he won't praise it. He's always given logic fair criticism.
they won't because they're friends with him
Myke's gonna think the Logic album is corny as fuck.
Adequate DEHH and Logic are cool af with each other, I doubt Myke is gonna shit on a friends album.
lil yachty is just a goofy kid who makes funny music, it's so weird how a lot of ppl try to take him seriously
i mean joe budden lecturing lil yachty about hip hop is like lecturing lil b about hip hop, it doesnt make sense
lesryglrhfohser he's killing hip hop, stop
If a movement CAN die it should. Hip hop aint dying, shit changing. Somebody making the hip hop you like. Just search for it.
He's killing hip hop? Stop! if someone like yachty can "kill" an entire genre what does that say about hip hop?
thedondon911911 You are honestly pathetic
I didn't really see anyone that was upset with Joe Budden. From what I was seeing, everyone seemed to have thought it was funny and were making memes out of it. It kinda concerned me, though, when they asked Yachty if he was in a 360 deal and he said he didn't know. I looked at him with the Nick Young face.
Jay U. Beezy if you look in that comment section from the interview on complex.... you'll see ALL the anger
Jay U. Beezy me too and I wanna see him win
no he said he cant be happy all the time in the music industry
They ain't bring up dj akedemiks once lmao
Alex Palencia he is kinda irrelevant, you could put any young nigga with some hiphop knowlegde on the show and it would work. the only think ak is bringing to the table is his fanbase
Alex Palencia cause this is about boat and budden
PLEASE TALK bout wale on everyday struggle
haha that would be great
Romeo Cross do yall think he's corny?
Romeo Cross WALE CORNY
wale is extremely corny
Cole le i dont.
One of the few channels where I actually get accurate notifications 😂
As being an 18 year old myself, i find it kinda wild that you think so low of young people. Guarantee if you asked Kendrick or Joey Bada$$ or anyone truly passionate about their art at that age, then they would be able to answer that question about what they want from music easily
Get Schwifty nas made illmatic at 19 didnt he
solomon k 18
Joey made 1999 at 17.
solomon k And if you asked Nas what he wanted I can guarantee you he would say he wanted to express himself and get money. But if Yachty had said that it would be a problem. Nigga can't win for losing
Times are different. Younger people don't really look for guidance anymore. They think they're unique for some reason. I feel it is a respect issue in general. Do what you want, but respect those who made it easy for you to be where you are. Anyone can be a rapper now, it use to take a level of skill. Even vanilla ice could actually rap. Can say that for a lot of the new kids coming up
"I'm just tryna eat and not die"
Man this interview just showed me that Joe needs an Anger Translator. He makes good points but his delivery just turns people off and makes them not want to listen to his message.
Exactly. He was spitting facts, but the yelling hurts his arguments.
wpHao Exactly and now the most important part of his argument (Yachty Not Knowing if he's in a 360 or not) gets completely ignored bc of him yelling about him being happy or not
new generation is just too sensitive. He's yelling but at the same time, they are having a discussion. Yachty stayed in his safebox the entire interview and came across as generic to me. I see everday struggle as something different than a typical radio interview where they often ask baseline questions, but he treated exactly like a radio interview. There wasn't much interesting dialogue coming from his end.
wpHao Hey I'm 21 and don't lump Yachty together with the rest of our generation. I honestly don't understand that mindset. If I was him I'd be yelling right back at Joe. This was a perfect opportunity for him to ask Joe Questions about what did he want from Hip Hop when he started. (Bc knowing his background I know it was for the money over the "culture) Personally I thought this could've been a good Bull Session between the two to get their issues out but instead it just turned Joe into the villain and Yachty a victim.
Lol i'm 21 too bro, and I go to a liberal af school that's way too pc haha. A lot of us are too sensitive
Damn Bigquint and now you guys upload!! at the same hour!!! It's only Monday and already my week is completed.👌
I rather hear Lil Yachty rap about being happy than Logic talk about being biracial for an hour.
Hallelujah- Not about being mixed
Everybody- About him being mixed
Confess- Man confessing his sins
Killing Spree- About social media and focused on things we focus about in social media
Take it Back- About how he receives racism from both sides. Watch the genius video and you may actually appreciate it
America- Basically about America
Ink Blot- About the perspective of a rapper mad with the music industry
Mos Definitely- Perspective of a black student struggling with student loans and their future I believe
1800- About Depression
Anziety- Anxiety
Black Spiderman- About breaking down barriers and stereotypes I believe but yes this song does mention being biracial when he raps in his perspective first
AfricAryan- Breaks down how it is to live being black and white
ok so the total amount of tracks dedicated to only rapping about being biracial Everybody, AfricAryan. 2. Keep saying all he raps about is being black and white though
TheLuiscelaya and THIS is why joe called out that "happy" statement, kids would rather listen to "happy" mumble rappers than "depressed"' lyrical rappers
TheLuiscelaya Yup u are the perfect example of why a lot of hip hop is shit bc fans like u expect shit music
David Camino That is quite the statement right there. Over a joke that I don't even agree with.
thedondon911911 I don't understand why it is so hard for people to comprehend that maybe people can like both those types of hip-hop, if I want to sit down and have a serious listen I'll put on deeper more lyrical rappers, but I'm not always in the mood to listen to that kind of rap 24/7, if I'm just riding in my car or just want something straightforward and catchy I'll listen to someone like Yachty, and there's nothing wrong with that.
LOL KEN IS SUCH A BIG ANGRY DAD I LOVE IT
Budden is starting to become one of the most entertaining rappers of all-time. LOL
Myke is absolutely right in all this. It's hard listening to a lot of the video where he isn't talking.
Right after I watch the video, dehh popped up in my notifications.
I love Myke but seriously that whole "you have money, what do you have to be depressed about?" mini rant proves why people need to be educated on mental health. I understand it was hypothetical, but you don't need to be in a shit situation to have depression. There doesn't need to always be a cause or reason. It can effect anyone and everyone.
Really cool views on friendship and arguing!
Thank you for this.
Great video guys but it really is amazing you managed to discuss this interview for 25 minutes without mentioning Akademiks once. I'm loving Everyday Struggle, it was crazy that they got Akademkis and Budden, I could not believe it when I first heard. It is a very fun show and Complex needs to cut the friday check.
I'm 26 and I still yell when I get passionate during conversations lol so I agree these "new niggas" (as Joe Budden always says) are sensitive, and need to grow some thick skin.
If we're having a heated discussion and you start yelling at me I will laugh at you. Joe Budden is twice Lil Yachty's age, there's no excuse. Up your verbal iq.
Needing to yell to make a point shows that you don't really think your arguments have that much value.
you can yell and have a high verbal iq lol I'm saying you can't expect everyone to respond in mono tone, I'm Puerto Rican and we are just loud people we don't think we are yelling thats just the normal volume of our conversations.
it's not a need to yell, its just natural for some people to come off loud and aggressive when in discussions, not everyone speaks soft and calm, sometimes you also get loud when you frustrated with a persons response to the argument in this case I believe Joe wanted Yachty to realize he's treating the discussion as whatever and Joe was frustrated because he really see's Yachty is clueless and doesn't care, and alot of these new artists are like that.
budden is just someone who's experienced the game who is mad that yachty's ignorance will screw him over in the end
man ofsteel 💯💯💯💯
Especially after asking him if he was in a 360 and yachty wasn't sure. lol. He went overboard.
man ofsteel 💯 budden a good guy
Yachty still has plenty of time ahead of him to learn, when joe was his age he was probably still very uneducated about the business side of hip hop aswell
Tom Rycraft That's exactly what Joe said. He said he wished he had an older artist tell him about the music business early on in his career, instead he got screwed because he was just "happy" to be finally in the game
Really great discussion, good work guys.
love you guys :)
Who would've thought Lil Yachty would end up being one of the most controversial rappers out right now.
You guys must not watch or listen to Joe Budden often. Joe is always mad/frustrated on several topics relating to the music industry. Him not being invited to the MET Ball or taking slight probably had very little to do w/ his issue w/ Yachty. Reminder, Joe has probably had to most rap beefs in the game. It's just who he is.
Thank you right on the money this was not new for him to act in this manner. This is what the fuck he does if he halfway gives a damn about a topic.
Good video
The head bop Myke did at 4:59 got me rolling 😂
Yachty: I'm happy
Joe: P-p-pump pump p-pump
Logic: But yall know I'm biracial
If you listen to Joe at all you know for a fact he was not mad because the met galla lmao
and if ppl think that being loud means being mad don't hang out with Hispanics lol
jonathan munoz funny as fuck. Us Cubans are loud motherfuckers. It's funny going to places up north from Miami because people always think we're yelling when we are just talking at our normal volume
JD Perez I'm Dominican and Puerto Rican and we got the same problem lmao
I'm 32 and I love this channel it's right up my alley
I loved this, you guys might have started something that most folks on youtubers aren't doing. I think its pretty noticeable to.
sorry just left work (bartender) and I'm on one.
Talk about more of these episodes like the wale one
Damn Mike is always so convincing in his argument. Always on point on time.
That moment when you on RUclips and you like the video and it go from 1k to 2k😊
always on point
I was just about to go to sleep
Same here! LOL
Myke, you can literally be depressed for no reason. Clinical depression stems from a chemical imbalance in the brain. Sure a bad situation can amplify the depression you naturally have but not all depression is situational. It is ignorant of you to say growing up with money and having a good life is reason enough that you cannot be depressed.
Its crazy how people think money, a material thing, brings happyness.
Bartholomule01 Holy shit. Are you guys fucking kidding me? It's almost like you were doing the same stupid shit Joe Budden was doing. You were sitting there waiting for me to say something that you could jump on. I know good and goddamn well clinical depression exists and we've talked about it on the show before. Not only that I've talked about my own personal dealings with it on my channel. This is really dumb. My point is it's stupid to tell an average 19 year old with no cares in the world that he can't be happy all the time. Gimme a fucking break with inserting clinical depression into the conversation because it's obvious as shit I wasn't talking about anomalies. Seriously, man, I'm pretty sure you've commented on our videos before and, honestly, I've seen much more intelligent comments from you. So I gotta say I'm a bit shocked by how ridiculous of a comment you've left this time. Come on.
Bartholomule01 I think you missed the point. Nothing to do whether he's happy or not. Who really knows, anyway. The point is why Budden was attacking Yachty about being happy. He chose a shitty way to try and make a valid point.
Myke, chiiiiiill.. Calm down, bro.
Myke C-Town damn Myke
I'm so early the thumbnail ain't load yet
The passion vs anger part, resonates so much. Wish folks would understand
Joe's argument wasn't that Yachty wasn't happy it was that yachty wasn't ALWAYS happy. It's petty and Joe was looking for something but he's right, No human being is always happy and Joe doesn't want to be lied to. Like you all said, calling him "not important" caused joe to criticize every word.
11:45 minutes in. Y'all tripping, I'm with Myke here. Even though I like Joe Budden, he carries way too much negativity and bitterness for his own good. None of what he said to Lil Yachty was out of good will, all I could see was bitterness. And it's honestly a shame.
I agree with everything Myke said except the thing about depression because you can get depressed and not have a specific reason and it can make it hard to enjoy anything when you are depressed.
What interview were they talking about?
Everyday Struggle episode with Lil Yachty.
Lil Yachty is not an artist that I would ever listen to musically, but I respect him for being 19 and having a plan for his future. Many other people outside of this culture have capitalized on it, without a second thought. I'm not sure why people are so hard on Lil Boat for doing the same thing. Budden may have had some good points, but his approach just makes him look petty and jealous of Yachty's success. Salute to the whole DEHH crew for some great discussions.
The biggest part to me was when Joe asked Yachty if he had a 360 deal and he didn't fucking know... that was crazy to me
Ayyye here under 100 Lol
#Notification Gang
DEHH and Big Quint uploading at the same time just makes me want to wish for the DEHH x Big Quint collab even more. Like just imagine Big Quint and Feefo together doing a first reaction and bumping in the whip
I clicked this faster than hearing the key lock opening when I have porn on my laptop and I'm trying to fix my life
Notification gaaaaang - squad up!
Do a breakdown in the Wale interview next
9:50 had me rolling 😂😂😂
lil yachty said you need to be somebody to akademiks not joe
Logic: if I gotta let you know that I'm biracial over and over again, ima make it look sexy
Notif squad
Joe Budden straight from that chappelle skit "when keeping it real goes wrong"
I think myke was wrong in this, budden wasn't mad at yachty for being happy. He was frustrated with yachty for giving media trained answers
illFigure90 lmao did u even watch it, he was mad for both of them
He is usually talking about how the music business messing with new rappers all the time, and he yells all the time to
Nah Tupac hanged out with a lot of bad rap acts in general. He grew up in the back up dancer scene, to him, it didn't matter, as long as it made money. Or are we gonna forget he did songs with B-Legit and C-Bo?
Also no, rappers weren't mean to each other, KRS is an outlier, not the state of how it was. Ultimately, they were sneak dissin and releasing tracks just like the battles today. Selective memory I noticed.
Also, Tupac moved onto movies and fashion really quick, he "sold out" as soon as possible. As did Jay and Naz...so please, lets not act like they didn't use hip hop as a vehicle.
Nah rappers really are just mean to each other. I think Yachty just got dick riders so fierce that they won't even let a nigga yell at him. Didn't Young Thug have something to do with Lil Wayne's tour bus getting shot up a few years ago? Didn't nobody start making twitter memes of Thug. But soon as someone raises their voice to Yachty then they gonna clown em to no end.
As a black man you're not allowed to exercise the financial intelligence of a Jew, cuz reasons.
true
It's nas not naz
man i know you didn't just call c-bo a bad rapper lol
the point of asking what he wants out of hip hop I believe was to gauge how much he actually cares about hip hop. a lot of dudes (not this generation) but especially in these times seem to just come in to make a quick buck and keep it moving. I can see a real hip hop head be upset about that. because real hip hop artist want to leave something behind for the culture
Clicked this so fast
NOTIFICATION SQUAAAAD
I agree with Ken. Hip-hop and Sports has produced more black millionaires then any other business. I like seeing young black man get opportunities to take care of their family. I don't like all the new music, but i like the fact that these young guys can live out their dreams.
notif squad
y'all should have like a group discussion between generations. i would like to be apart of it. because it feels like older generations always think something's wrong with newer ones
24:12 Ken, my nigaa, my point exactly!
Also, kendrick Lamar was saying the EXACT SAME THING In his Zane Lowe interview, about rap not being something you can just profit off of.
Plus since was 19 considered a "kid"? Didn't nas make illmatic at 18? Didn't grandmaster flash pioneer a genre around the same age ? This era is trying to justify stupidity
Greg Dillan he is a plague you idiot. Who's music gets played more ? Who gets talked about ? Who's considered "the king of the youth"? Who's lowering standards ? Who's the one upcoming artists are trying to replicate ? Not j Cole lmao. Yatchy claims he isn't apart of hip hop yet financially benefits from it, he's the very thing y'all accused white people of being for years
19 18 17 that's a kid in life i mean it's old enough to rap but they still kids especially someone like yachty who not from the streets they transition slower because it's not a necessity to grow up quick
Greg Dillan if I didn't go out of my way to search Joey I would not hear any of his music, along with Kdot and Cole. They can't be the kings if their music isn't being promoted. You sound like an emotional ass child who can't handle the fact that I'm saying facts.
"Cole's the king"
His album died out in a month and I have yet to hear a song from that project played anywhere, along with damn aside from humble.
Yatchy's the most talked about
The most played
The one kids want to be like
Lmfao just stop.
Greg Dillan
On god you're no older than 17
"Nobody outside the age of 13 wants to sound like yatchy"
Shut the fuck up, that statement alone clearly shows you're biased, emotional, and triggered by the fact that I'm stating the truth. When I can easily link you to HUNDREDS of yatchy clones. Dawg you're a fucking idiot. There's a new mumble rapper born every single day.
"It's a job"
No, it's a culture. Disrespecting a culture while benefiting from it shouldn't be accepted. That's like me saying you Aren't my family or friend but I still eat at your house
Greg Dillan
Jesus Christ you're a fucking idiot. Question, are you white ?
"No impact"
He already influenced this entire generation of kids, you're stupid to think otherwise
It was definitely an argument between the generations and I appreciate Joe's perspective regardless of his delivery. He's passionate about what's happening in the culture and has insight most people don't have. If Yachty is conscious of his brand and media-trained, people will probably get half-truths from him.
lol y'all should cover Dj Akademiks vs Wale. Great convo btw
Yall keep talkin bout how yall wouldnt feel a type of way if your parents yelling at you and shit but would yall let someone yall never met continue to yell at you. its different when the person yelling is your parents or someone with authority. Lil yatchy prolly has little respect for joe budden prolly never heard a song from him lol i would feel someone type or way if he was yellin at me and i felt that towards him.
Vee Vee No it's not. People should be able to separate what people are saying from how they're saying it. "Oh it's not what you said it's how you made me feel" that's some woman shit sorry Yatchy.
Newtoschool lmao I ain't watch the whole video did he actually say that
Joe just needs to let Yacthy be...
Ken's outro! 😂😂😂
+Dead End Hip Hop
so are you guys going to review Wale's album SHINE and Logic's EVERYBODY album?
It's not Yachty's fault that Budden's irrelevant lol.
Y'all missed the point completely. When yatchy started naming off the shit that makes him "happy" it was mostly materialistic things, and budden, someone who's been in the game for awhile, knows that that can easily be taken away, since yatchy doesn't even know what a 360 deal is. Joe even broke it down more in the podcast after. Plus yatchy started it by disrespecting hip hop
thedondon911911 he was mad at him for it before he even began listing materialistic things
Budden is just way too sensitive about this shit. taking yachty way too fucking seriously. since when was it bad to just make shit and be happy while doing it? people just get so sensitive to this shit that isn't even remotely worth getting offended over.
Mentalitarium because you don't know nor care about hip hop. Rap is a culture, yachty is turning that culture into a joke. Period.
Shockheadd45 who said they didn't get criticized? Lmfao you kids try so hard to find unrelated correlations but end up making no sense. Plus they were grown ass men, and also, that was way before the general audience of hip hop realized how shady labels were
BoofPackJohnson but still, if you have an entire generation looking up to you, you should set an example. You can't say "I'm the king of the youth" and make idiotic statements
NOTIFICATION GANG
"Leave your Lego out" lmao 😂😂
So much of my generation only care about money and beats
NOTIF Squad
Jon Construct wow original comment 🙄
I agree with Myke pretty much throughout. I have had so many long nights arguing with my friends yelling at each other.
However like y'all said, they're your friends. If I had a dude like Budden, who I assume Yachty has never actually met before or at least has very little interaction with, yelling at me the way he does, I'd be telling him to chill too.
Remember too that, like you said Budden was going at him looking for a place to pick, I'd guess Yachty knew that as well.
16:03 WHAT DO YOU MEAN HAPPY holy shit I'm dying
joe budden's the biggest tool in the game
myke doesnt seem to get how depression works
From other videos I know Myke totally knows how depression works. I think he was just joking. We should all resist the urge to be triggered
Naw if he thinks lil yachty has to be happy bc he grew up in the suburbs rich and is now richer then he clearly doesnt understand that money isn't part of the equation, and Ive heard him say things like this on another video about Earl Sweatshirt. He was talking about how he has no reason to be depressed bc he's poppin as an artist. Im not triggered I'm just saying he doesnt seem to get how depression works bc he doesnt seem to.
Hexted he looked a bit ignorant
Hexted luxury definitely isn't part of the equation.
otherwise people in these positions wouldn't off themselves, on top of that, more often than people who dont live in luxury.
I'm sure Mykes smarter then that I think he just doesnt totally have a grasp on what depression is like. And maybe I could be wrong for all I know Myke could be depressed, see I won't try to assume anything. I would just like him to give artists the same benefit of the doubt
The name of this channel sums up the beef
i agree about that thing in beginning if you look at the interview right after yatchy says " you gotta be someone" he looks straight at joe with a smile and that probably touched joe's nerve
being 19 is not the argument to use as defense. if mike is cool with hip hop being watered down or dumbed down just say it. definitely pacifying
Lil Yatchy is "Happy" and people can't handle it cause he's got 2 guys making out on his album cover
James Casey that's not the problem at all, stop generalizing
thedondon911911 I wasn't even addressing the problem or trying to generalize, just a joke man. But regardless Hip Hop is starting to become divided and torn apart like America, and Lil Yatchy and Lil Uzi are the Trump and Pence of the divide
James Casey comparing DONALD TRUMP AND PENCE TO YACHTY AND UZI is easily the dumbest shit I've ever heard 😂 you CANNOT seriously feel that's a good analogy
James Casey that's the most perfect analogy I've heard all week
the.wanderlusted actually no what he said was facts. Yatchy will say dumb shit but twist his words to make it sound ok. He's also the only rapper to use alternative facts so blatantly;
"My music is positive and for the kids"
Yet his music is about drugs, having sex and shooting lmfao
4:59 killed me
NOTIFICATION SQUAAAAAD !
I believe i can wrap up everybodys opinion on the topic. Joe is right and had great points BUUUUT none of them applied to Yachty. There are media trained rappers and artists that are fake but Joe went off on the wrong new artist
No, Joe wasn't mad about not getting an invite. Joe wanted Yachty to quit bullshitting. For example, what 19 year old rapper ponders at home about an album cover with 2 gays kissing? The album cover was an obvious marketing gimmick. Plus Joe would have observed that he was quite articulate but that is not reflected in his music. And, yeah Joe knows the women and the money are good but there's also a lot of drawbacks to fame too. Plus I don't think he respects him as an artist. He knows he could rap circles around him without even trying.
Upful Soul why are you acting like a 19 year old is a child who can't think for himself
yall are hilarious and informative, better talk about me when I make it. I won't forget.
Does anyone else find it super ironic that Kinge is over here talking about how "Younger generations need to grow some balls" and "The younger generations are pacified" meanwhile Kinge was on a soapbox preaching about how Twitter and other social media platforms need to engage in censorship to protect people from 'mean words'?
