    I've tried this pad out and I think it's pretty good. Although i did get a 6" Evans real feel pad. Also I've been using the rtom moongel pad for a while which is a good one too.

      Nice! Yeah, it's an interesting pad. I've yet to try the moongel pad. At the end of the day they're all gonna make us better drummers 🥁💪

    Hey man, appreciate the in-depth review. I am considering purchasing this pad but i have also heard on multiple videos that there seem to be issues in the durability of this pad. Of course it wont last forever with daily use, but care to share how it has held up since you bought it? Greetings from germany!

    • @TomPompei
      @TomPompei  10 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah so far so good with the durability, but I've heard similar things myself. I haven't noticed them just yet, but I also haven't used it like a mad man so I can't speak for others. I will say the lettering was peeling right out of the box, but I'm not the type to care about that. I'll update you more if I notice any significant wear and tear. And Greetings! Thanks for watching!

    Better to buy a set of Tama rubber tips that fit over (with a tiny bit of struggle! LOL) one's drumstick tips. Voila! Instant practice pad on ANY surface! I used to take my drumsticks with the Tama rubber tips and play them on concrete benches in the train stations and bus shelters in Atlanta, GA. All for $12/pair. I think Tama still makes these.

    My concern with the foam is will it get cut up by any splinters on the drumstick tips. I’d love to see a review of one a year or so old & well used.

      I've had one for several years. It's great. Definitely my favourite pad and looks and feels as good as when I first bought it. In other words, wear and tear isn't an issue. At least it hasn't been for me and I've been using it nearly every day since I first got it.

    You know what, i had the exact same reaction at first but after few months i kinda missed the real feel, i don`t know maybe i was just too used to that but real feel always FEELS better to me. Reflexx, sure, is a nice pad and when i use it only use the conditioning side. Weird but that`s how it is.

      I know what you mean to an extent. I actually haven't used my real feel since I've got this pad. However, I do like how loud and solid the real feel feels. Much better for marching snare feel I would say. I prefer the reflexx I can say honestly now.

    In Canada this pad is only $20 less than a brand new Yamaha Stage Custom Snare drum 😂

      That's egregious lol. Absurd how much these pads can cost

      Ridiculous. And yet, some sucker will buy this just for the name brand.

    Whats the best practice pad or work around to have a feel of a rack tom?

    • @TomPompei
      @TomPompei  Год назад +1

      That's a tough one. I haven't personally ever played one that feels similar to any tom. I will say the workk side of the reflexx is close in terms of the rebound that toms have, but it definitely doesn't feel like a rack tom.

    Great feel but it’s a junk quality pad. I ordered 2 and they were both awful. I sent them back and got the prologix black out pad. It’s not as dead, but it’s way better quality.

    Ah, my young Padawan. Yes, youngster, there have been many two-sided practice pads on the market for decades. 😂.
    In fact, it seems like everyone and their brother's sister's husband's wife has come out with their own version of a practice pad. Hell, with a little bit of carpentry know-how, you could make one yourself. What you're paying for with these expensive practice pads is the brand name and the fact you didn't make one by yourself.

    • @TomPompei
      @TomPompei  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah it's funny you mention it because I've been looking into making my own. I figured I could make one for 1/5th the cost and it would be a fun project.

    When you start your video with this "i think 80/90$ for a drum pad is rediculous" you expect me to invest my time in you 15 min video?
