As a WC supporter, I will be supporting Freo for this year. Watching those Vic’s carrying on with that robbery of Freo did not sit well with me. It’s still the VFL and for a WA team to win they have to be 5% better than the opposition with the challenges of travel etc. It’s still the VFL.
@@DB-my7wl I get your point mate, but in a draft and salary cap leveled competition, the difference between teams is often only 1 to 2%. Look how Brisbane and Collingwood started this year. Stuff the Vic’s.
If it's wrong he gives away 50m. If it's right but umps don't over turn it the team gets 12 points and all umps are arrested for the murder of our game.
Captains call could only be in the last 5 minutes of the last quarter. Also, often the captain wouldn't be on the ground anyway and there is a good chance they could be on the other end of the field 120 metres away. So a few issues there.
One of the issues is how the umpires have microphones on them. It makes it very difficult to discuss issues. For instance the umpire is away that if he says its touched and the other one says its not touched then it becomes a massive issue. So putting microphones on them stops clear communication between the umpires and good decision making.
Lastly, Jordan Clark foul mouthed tirade would have been penalised anyway. Here is the scenario. A mark is paid. After a period of time Pearce decides to do a captain's call. But prior to that Clark engages in his blue language. So in the end the captain's call says its not a mark. But Clark's rowdy insults leads to a free kick 20 metres from goal. The Carlton player gets a free kick due to Clark's language towards the umpire. Carlton win.
It's circulating the other umpire called touched ball

Captains call - 1 call for the entirety of the game.
He gets one call, whether it is right or wrong, its gone.
