  • In spring 2023, Snowboard Magazine gathered a group of women snowboarders and went to Mammoth Mountain, California for a week of testing new 2024 snowboards. The goal was to find daily drivers, boards that perform well in a variety of conditions and make a great go-to pick no matter what you the terrain and conditions you ride this winter. The testers selected their six favorite snowboards as the best for the upcoming season. First on the list, the 2024 Ride Psychocandy. Go to www.snowboardmag.com to read the entire snowboard review and check out the other boards the testers picked.
The Ride Psychocandy is a snowboard with a classic case of volume shift. This can be intimidating to some, and likely has you raising an eyebrow knowing it stands out as a quiver killer. This member of Ride’s Thrash Collection gives off the aura of a carving machine, but when our testers strapped in, they couldn’t wipe the stoke off their faces. After one lap on the Psychocandy, Mammoth local and Wave Rave retail sales manager Mary Sardinskas said this was her favorite board she has ever ridden. Chelsea Dore echoed Mary’s sentiments, saying, “I think the Ride Psychocandy is for anyone who wants to go fast, float in powder, and have a good time ripping! The Ride Psychocandy is hands down one of my favorite boards I’ve ever ridden.”
The overwhelming sentiment of the tester crew was clearly that the Psychocandy absolutely rips anywhere you take it and is a blast to ride. The board’s destroy-it-all-and-then-some mentality is because it is packed with functional design like Ride’s Double Impact Plates, Carbon Array 5, and a bi-radial sidecut that all adds up for an unmatched feeling of fluidity in all terrain. With stacked tech and a tapered volume shift shape, the rocker nose and zero camber profile subtly turn down the volume on the Psychocandy to reduce catchiness. Size down 3-6cm from your standard size and let the width handle the rest.
